Restarting VLCD (Slim&Save) for Christmas weight loss

Hellohelo · 29/10/2017 07:36

Hi I've read mumsnet for a while but decided to join up to see if anyone is in the same boat as me.

I recently did Slim&Save VLCD for a month and lost 1.5 stone which was great. I then came off it to give myself a break and enjoy food, intending to get back on it and lose the final stone. Thing is it's been so hard to get back on it after a break!!! I've had about 3 failed starts over the last month.

So I'm now looking for support from you lovely lot! Is anyone else restarting or starting for Christmas? I made an order last night and ordered the Christmas weight loss calender they had free on the site, so hoping that gives me the inspiration I need!! I will start tomorrow (Monday 30th October) but going to wean myself in by not restricting myself to 4 packs as I know I'll be starving, so I will start properly on Wednesday 1st November. Because I like round numbers!

Anyone want to join me?

Was aiming to start today, but I have came down with a horrible cold. Just want tea and lots of sympathy!

Will hopefully feel better tomorrow and get started properly.

Well done Over that's a great start x

Oh god I hope I can lose 10lbs in a week. I need to seriously shift some. My weight is putting loads of pressure on my joints and frankly I feel frumpy. Food for today has been eaten and I’ve drunk quite a bit of water.

Hellohelo · 31/10/2017 21:37

Well today wasn't good with all the sweets around! I did have a few oops but have Also had lots of water. Hoping that cancels out the sweets!

Keep on keeping on 🙂 I’ve brushed my teeth so I don’t eat anything else

Babybrainx2 · 01/11/2017 08:20

my delivery is due today. Wondering whether to be good this morning or make the most of my last breakfast and have buttery toast!

10lb for my first week would do nicely!!

Hellohelo · 01/11/2017 08:22

So today I am officially starting SS (I ate too many sweets last night- still managed to lose a lb though). Day 1 here we go!

Youngest woke me up at 2am and my stomach was protesting. Onwards and downwards. As I’ve got Christmas in mind. Welcome to all new starters.

amusedbush · 01/11/2017 17:23

Babybrainx2

I did VLCD last year with 6/7 stone to lose and lost three stone in ten weeks.

I fell off the wagon for a while and I've been doing SW but this week I've been eating shit and I'm sorely tempted by Slim and Save to blast off this last two stone. I've lost 53lbs in the last year and I'd hate to slip backwards again, especially when I'm only two stone from a healthy weight Sad

Babybrainx2 · 01/11/2017 18:39

amused that is amazing! Well done! Its my birthday in 6 weeks and I've set a target of 2 stone. It's going to be a big ask but I'm going to stick to s&s religiously. Fingers crossed.

amusedbush · 01/11/2017 19:08

Well, even if you don't hit that target you'll get close and feel bloody amazing.

I've got a load of Slim and Save from earlier in the year so I'm going to see how I get on between now and my trip to Paris (four weeks away). I'd love another stone off for that.

Hellohelo · 01/11/2017 20:40

I think the first time you do it is the easiest. Once you've stopped, trying to restart is awful! I just keep telling myself that I can eat anything I want once I've lost this stone! Food is always going to be there!

OP posts:
amusedbush · 01/11/2017 20:57

Yes! Restarting gets harder and harder.

What fuelled me last time was pure self loathing because I was the heaviest I'd ever been and I was utterly miserable. But as I get smaller, that drive to stick to such a drastic diet just isn't there anymore.

However, I could technically be at my goal weight in two months if I just bloody get on with it. I've got a long weekend in Paris next month to look forward to so I'm sure I can do four weeks without too much trouble 🤞🏻

Hellohelo · 01/11/2017 21:03

Just imagine what clothes you'll be wearing in Paris if you stick to this! This is another of my motivations- picturing myself wearing smaller clothes! When are you going to start?

It's torture knowing that the kids sweets are all upstairs, but I'm sitting here with my water!!

I'm going to start today. However, I woke up feeling grotty yesterday and this morning I'm almost certain I've got my second chest infection of the year Sad

I'll see how I go but if I need to eat while ill, I will.

amusedbush · 02/11/2017 10:52

Been the the doctor and it's definitely a chest infection 😩 She gave me five days of antibiotics.

I'm feeling okay though food-wise though - I don't have any appetite, my throat is sore and I can't taste much anyway so there's no point wasting calories on junk. No matter how much I want a bacon roll I know it won't make me feel any better!

Babybrainx2 · 02/11/2017 18:50

I've got a major caffeine headache, but apart from that I'm ok. I've done this for 2 meals now. Is it too soon to weigh myself?!

Msqueen33 · 02/11/2017 20:37

I’ve seen my toilet more than I’d like to but water is good right?! Craving less which is nice might coincide with stress easing up.

I’d like to have shifted four odd stone by my dds birthday which is the end of March so definitely really doable. But I’d like to see two stone gone by Christmas if not more.

Hellohelo · 02/11/2017 21:56

I still drink my coffee as can't give it up! I don't think it affects my loss. I know I will end up eating on Sunday as meeting friends for lunch. I will allow myself a cheat meal, I just must make sure I only have one cheat!!

OP posts:
Hellohelo · 02/11/2017 21:57

On the subject of weighing, I weigh myself constantly! The weight loss is definitely shower this time round, probably because I have less to lose

OP posts:
Babybrainx2 · 03/11/2017 18:38

Well I tried one of the shakes last night and it was horrible Confused
but I'm not a massive fan of milkshakes anyway so it's not a big surprise.

loving the meals and the bars so far though! Today has gone much better. Got another headache but it's not nearly as bad as yesterday.
I ordered the 2 week sample pack and it has loads of shakes so probably going to order more meals and bars in a week or so in case the other shakes are gross as well!

minimalist99 · 03/11/2017 20:16

Can I join you ladies? I bought a month of supply and I need to loose 5 stones to get to my pre pregnancy weight. I have two DC, DS is 2.5 and DD is 1.... I am hoping this is the last time I restart my weight loss journey Grin

minimalist99 · 03/11/2017 20:16

I bought exante shakes and I am not looking forward to it !

Babybrainx2 · 04/11/2017 07:51

6lb down in 2 days :) obviously a lot of water weight but a good start! 6 and a half stone to go haha!

chocolatespiders · 04/11/2017 07:56

Are these similar to Cambridge? Are they any cheaper?

I have about 5 stone to lose.

hellsbells99 · 04/11/2017 08:07

Hello all. I have just found this thread and desperately need to lose a lot of weight. Not heard of this diet before so I have just had a quick look at the website. What is the best plan to purchase?
