So over the last few months I have been messing around trying to lose weight and getting nowhere - I am actually heavier than ever. As some of you may have seen from another thread I thought that trying something different might help so I went to my first slimming world class yesterday - unfortunately I was not impressed and I don't think it's for me. So I am using a brand new month to motivate me and spending today planning are more positive May and my meals this week. Anyone else out there also struggling but feeling positive about the new month?

Weigh day for me and I'm down 1.5lbs!! so 1/4lb less than last week wooooohooo!!

Not happy to be up this early when it doesn't involve DS! Instead my husband has decided to up his snorning and kept waking me up!!

Not long left until the end of the month how is everyone else doing? Xx

BeyondStrongAndStable · 20/05/2017 21:41

Woohoo, well done lu!!

I'm still doing well. Had a bite of a twirl earlier, but could be much worse Grin step goal met, Pilates done and food (not including my one bite) comes in at 801cal :)

Designerenvy · 21/05/2017 09:34

Good morning all ! I was work 2 long days thursday/ Friday and had friends over for dinner last night. It was great . Their kids came too , so my crew were well entertained and loved it ! I haven't been as good as I should be tbh.....but I haven't had any rubbish either..., . Weighed myself yesterday and stayed the same again....can't seem to budge the scales at at the moment !
Ah well, I definitely feel better in myself , so I'll keep going !
Well done lub. ...ture flying it !
Well done beyond !
Any plans for today anyone... ? I have dds end of year drama play, so I'm looking forward to that. ...other 2 dcs would rather not go, but that's life for you😂
Star hope you're fully recovered now x

StarHeartDiamond · 21/05/2017 11:04

Good morning! Was out and about yesterday so also didn't do too well but not terrible, so still the same!

Part of the problem is both my local supermarkets have sold out if chocolate rice cakes Shock there must have been a run on them! They're my favourite snack to keep hunger at bay! Argh bring them back quick! Smile

StarHeartDiamond · 21/05/2017 11:06

Designer - I'm nearly back to normal, thank you x not quite there but almost! Today I'm back on track and tonight it's very early night for a fresh start tomorrow, would like to lose 2lb this week.

Ellieboolou27 · 21/05/2017 13:39

Excellent lub I was thinking of you and our drunk free pact while I shamefully downed half a bottle of wine Friday night Shock
I regretted it yesterday as I ate for England!
Weigh day tomorrow I hope it's not done too much damage.
star think my girls have come down with the bug you had, both are really out of sorts and not sleeping Sad
Sounds like you had a lovely time design and you resisted the naughty stuff on offer, you are really strong willed.

BeyondStrongAndStable · 21/05/2017 14:57

We had to take DS to a dancing event thing this morning which I didn't prep food for (didn't realise how long we'd be there!) so ended up getting McDonald's Blush I had a happy meal and luckily my day does still come in at under 1000. Not exactly BSD friendly though..!!

Ellieboolou27 · 21/05/2017 15:23

How do you not die of hunger in 800 cals a day? I'm on 1360 and struggle to keep that!
I've got the BSD book at home and just reading it makes me feel faint Smile

BeyondStrongAndStable · 21/05/2017 15:37

The first couple of days are hard, but then you just sort of get used to it. I'm not hungry between meals at all now :)

Lubilu28 · 21/05/2017 21:15

Thanks Ellie!! Just been to a 60th cocktail party and stuck with the 1 can of Diet Pepsi!! DS got really tired so we had to leave quite early (should of got a babysitter) so at least that stopped me from throwing in the towel and necking a few cocktails 🙈

I don't know how you do it beyond!! I would be starving... constantly haha

Star at least your maintaining and not gaining! Xxx

BeyondStrongAndStable · 22/05/2017 09:37

Down a little bit more today. 11 point something (can't remember now!) lbs since the beginning of the month :)

StarHeartDiamond · 22/05/2017 11:18

Wow that's amazing, beyond! So happy for you Star that's nearly a stone, keep going!!

Lu - well done for sticking to your Diet Pepsi!

Designer - maintaining is brilliant too, especially when you've been hosting! Well done Smile

Ellie - sorry to hear your girls aren't well Sad hope they pick up soon. How was your weigh in today?

Ellieboolou27 · 22/05/2017 12:30

Hi all, 2lb down today, didn't hit my goal of losing 3lb but the wine and overeating on Saturday night has not helped! Still it's a loss so I'm pleased!

All this lovely sunshine is giving me motivation to stick with it, when it's raining and miserable out I eat to make myself feel better Grin

MissingPanda · 22/05/2017 19:51

Well done Ellie 2lb is fantastic. Hope your girls feel okay soon.

Beyond you're doing really well keep it up.

Designer at least you're not putting weight on. Maybe keep a food diary for a week will help.

Star hope you get your chocolate rice cakes soon.

Lu well done for sticking to the diet pepsi.

I weighed myself this morning and have lost 1lb so have reached the half a stone I wanted to lose before going on holiday Grin I'm now 14st 13lb so have left the 15s Grin

I'm also proud of myself because I ate out earlier and resisted the pork ribs I fancied, which along with the rest of the meal would have totalled over 2200 calories. Instead I had a vegetable lasagne with side salad which came to 775 calories.

Ellieboolou27 · 22/05/2017 20:40

Whoo hoo panda fantastic, to be in a lower stone bracket is really motivating, bye bye 15's Smile

Just back from a 50 minute fast dog walk, poor Alfie is spark out now on the sofa Grin

StarHeartDiamond · 23/05/2017 16:35

Hi all, it seems a bit trivial talking about diets under the circumstances of the sad news today Sad I hope all here are safe and well and Flowers if you have been affected directly or indirectly by events of yesterday evening.

Designerenvy · 23/05/2017 18:23

Hi Star, yes it's devastating ! Hope ye are all well. I'm in Ireland but thinking of ye all ! Cried this morning thinking of all those innocent kids and their families. So shocking !

Ellieboolou27 · 23/05/2017 19:39

Agree star we have life, we have our family, it puts everything into perspective.

Designerenvy · 23/05/2017 19:48

FlowersFlowers

Lubilu28 · 24/05/2017 07:28

Yesterday's news was awful and my heart goes out to all the families who have lost their loved ones ❤️

I seem to be at a plateau at the min!! I know I shouldn't of done but I've weighed myself every morning since Saturday and i havnt lost anything!! I know it's probably due to the fact it's nearly time of the month but still! I've been so good with my diet, stuck to 1300 cals! I'm not gonna weigh myself now until Saturday but I'm not holding out hope that I've lost anything!!

Designerenvy · 24/05/2017 07:57

Good morning lub! I'm the exact same. The scales haven't budged again this week.....
In fact I'm up half a poundAngry. I can't understand it either. I really think it'sy age at this stage. I'm 43. In the past I've nevery had a problem with weight and if I needed to lose say half I stone, I'd lose it very quickly. Now the weight seems to be sticking iykwim!
I'm not giving up, cos I know if I do I'll probay just keep putting on the pounds. Very disheartening though Sad

Ellieboolou27 · 24/05/2017 08:09

Morning all, I did a workout with dumbells last night and can nearly move this morning!! Ha - serves me right for thinking I'm still in my 20,s
design it's definitely an age this this weight loss lark, I'm 39 very nearly 40 and in my 20's and early 30's would drop 7lbs easy in a week.
lub to lose 1lb of fat you need a calorie deficit of 3500 cals, you're only 3 days in so get off the scales and wait until your official weight in Grin

StarHeartDiamond · 24/05/2017 09:30

Morning all.

Lu - I would say it definitely due to the time if the month, it'll be water retention. I had this last week, I was surprised to see no change even when I got back into the duet but it was time of the month and I felt heavy and bloated. Made me feel like giving up, but what's the point once a start has been made... it's hard enough to make a start in the first place Grin.

This morning I've finally shifted a pound, so 8lb in total.

Designer - I don't know if you've ever tired fasting but if you can possibly stand it then a day of fasting (I basically eat lightly with salad and a few crackers/dairylea triangles and a light cereal bar) then that can kickstart the weightloss.

Ellie - well done on your workout especially in this warm weather, that's impressive! I don't have a clue what to do with dumbbells!

Designerenvy · 24/05/2017 10:18

Well done Ellie on your work out !!! .... I wouldn't be able to move either tbh Grin
Star, I haven't tried fasting but might give it a go. Is it fast for 2 days per week?. I even had a kale smoothie this morning for breakfast... that how desperate I am at this stage Grin
Star....well done on your loss...you're flying it !
