Hi everyone. Coco pleased you're feeling a bit better. Hope everyone else is doing OK.
Regarding meal times I usually only last 5-6hrs between meals, breakfast 7am lunch 12/12.30 and dinner 5.30/6pm. I find it a real struggle to last any longer for dinner. I will be putting that to the test tomorrow, I have friends coming for dinner and we won't be eating until 8pm ish. Eek that's late for me! And no chance of a later lunch as I'm working all day and lunch break is 12pm. Ah well a true test of my resolve/willpower! I have only bought 2 desserts though, for my friends, I won't be eating one!

Today I am wearing a skirt that didn't used to fit me Smile

beela · 23/03/2017 08:15

Posie I think I should eat at 5.30/6.00 but it hardly ever works out like that. Then my snacking demons come out. A cup of tea or an emergency glass of milk sometimes helps if you need to eat later.

AristonAndOn · 23/03/2017 14:25

Beela. What a wonderful feeling when you can fit into something you couldn't before 😊 I had a throwing out session the other day and threw my larger clothes out. I hope never to need to buy larger again.
Good Luck Posie. We have similar eating times and I am so ready for my dinner come 6pm. Was not amused after a very active day yesterday, I took one bite of my dinner and the builder arrived and chatted for 30 minutes 😡

Cocopopsrule · 23/03/2017 14:34

Wow that is great beela!

PosiePootlePerkins · 23/03/2017 17:59

Aagh its only 6pm and my tummy is rumbling! Good job I am generally very antisocial and don't entertain in the week much!
Well done beela, it is working!
Ariston that sounds very irritating, I would find it hard to stay civil if I were just about to tuck into dinner! Hope things are going OK for you, health and diet wiseSmile

Hello all!

Hurray posie and beela on fitting into smaller clothes / throwing out larger sizes! God, I hope I manage the same thing at some point in the not too distant future.

Coco, I love baking with my DD too and end up eating basically all the results, as DH (curse his name Wink) hasn't got a sweet tooth and DD is too little to make any real indents into a massive cake. When I've tried to avoid sweet stuff in the past, we've made something savoury, like what I call wheaten bread and some people call wholewheat soda bread. I don't know if that appeals to you and your DD but we like it.

I'm doing ok this week, but have had some slip ups which I am putting down to being on holiday, not planning meals and then ending up ravenous and sneaking a snack in Blush. I know how bad this is and I'm determined to sort it out tomorrow, which is also the end of our holiday Sad. No excuses now though, which is a good thing.

I've booked in to 3 gym classes next week as well, so hoping that will keep me busy in the evenings and therefore I won't snack or drink wine!

twofloorsup · 23/03/2017 21:31

Hi all. I am now fully moved in and the old flat is sparkling ready to give the keys back. Phew !
I've not gone off plan at all in fact if anything No S has taught me that although food is nice and you need it to keep you going, it's actually not the be all and end all I thought it was my entire life Smile
I'm absolutely shattered so off off a well earned rest but am worried about how I'll do with a less busy schedule.
Watch this space Smile

Rockaby · 24/03/2017 07:23

Well done for sticking to the plan during the move two! You've obviously formed some good habits. Glad you're all settled in. Moving is hard work.

I'm about to have breakfast now. Must not snack today. On the way home today from our holiday so hopefully won't have the opportunity to sneak bits and pieces.

Hope everyone has good days Smile.

twofloorsup · 24/03/2017 08:05

Thanks Rockaby I just feel like it's a natural way to eat now and I don't ever want anything sweet except dried fruit which I do eat a lot of.
I'm getting better at ignoring my hunger til I can get some proper food too which takes away the urge to snack.
Hope you all have a good weekend, I'm looking forward to some sunshine Smile

oklumberjack · 24/03/2017 08:16

Can I tentatively join in?

I'm 44. I weigh 16 stone. I've 'dieted' my way up to this weight I think (as well as eating shed loads).

I've been on every diet (and lost a few stone) and every weight loss board here I think except this one.
My father died at the beginning in the month, and my eating has gone off the scale. I've also reached for crisps and chocolate in times of stress or boredom but this month has been crazy.

I'm so sick of looking at a 'diet'. I'm currently doing Slimming World Online but haven't weighed in for weeks. I have no enthusiasm for it. I also watched my best friend loose 6 stone on SW last year and has nearly put it all back on. Depressing.

I'm thinking I need a sustainable idea. This could be it, maybe?

Rockaby · 24/03/2017 09:14

Oh I'm so sorry your dad passed away lumberjack Flowers.

I lost my mum a few years ago too.

I'm a total newbie here, but am reading the book and it makes a lot more sense to me than any of the other diets I've tried (and like you, I think I have tried them all)!

Two, that's so encouraging to hear it's become natural for you to eat this way. I'm such a grazer and would sometimes eat cake or chocolate instead of lunch Blush. I think it's going to be a huge change for me to stick to this, but I'm feeling quite determined now.

PosiePootlePerkins · 24/03/2017 13:44

Welcome lumberjack. You sound similar to me, I am 42 and have been a yoyo dieter most of my adult life. This is my 6th month of NoS and I can honestly say I can see myself eating this way for the rest of my life. It has brought me so many benefits besides weight loss, including peace of mind around food which is a first for me. Its a slow weight loss plan (well it is for me at least) but the weight is coming off. Around 1/2lb a week roughly. Hope it works well for you, any questions just ask. Also worth having a look at the NoS website and forum.
Two yay for your new home! Hope you settle in well. And enjoy some lovely meals! I agree with your comment about finally learning that food is not the be all and end all - who knew?Grin
I survived yesterday, I went from 12.30-8pm without eating anything. Not ideal for me as I like to eat earlier, but I had a lovely meal with my friends. They brought crisps which I avoided by being busy cooking dinner, and I had bought two desserts so none for me! As I watched them tuck into their M&S millionaires pudding I felt no desire to have one and no sense that I was missing out. That's a massive breakthrough for me.
Today is my DS 13th birthday and I'm taking it as a planned S day.
Have a fab day everyone.

Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear about your dad lumberjack and welcome. Like you, I'm new to this and a serial dieter. I have everything crossed that this could be the solution to sustainable weightloss and Posie has me converted. Congrats on the new place, Two! and on sticking to the plan - I can't imagine managing to move house and stick to other diets I've tried, but with this one, I can.

Really hoping to see a loss this week... I've stuck to it so far and not overcompensated with huge portions... I feel a bit deprived about not having a drink and a snack tonight though, it's Friday and I have always celebrated the weekend. My intentions are good though - I have a stack of work and it will be easier to get through if I don't have a Friday night party. Smile
Looking forward to tomorrow Grin

twofloorsup · 24/03/2017 15:54

Welcome lumberjack and so sorry about your dad.
I can only echo what Posie has said.
I've been a serial dieter / binge eater since I was 15. I've been doing this since new year and can't see myself slipping now as it suits me well.
Thanks for all the good wishes I'm just happy to be done !

twofloorsup · 24/03/2017 15:55

Oh god that sounds dreadful Grin

Please read that as I'm happy to be done with cleaning Wink

beela · 24/03/2017 17:45

Evening all Smile

Glad you are all settled in two, hope you have lots of happy times in your new place.

Welcome lumberjack and sorry about your dad.

I've lost about 0.5lb this week. I'm very happy with that as I expected to regain some of the 5lb illness weight loss from the week before. Ds is taking me out for mothering sunday tea and cake at the weekend (he's 6, dh is going to give him some money so he can treat me!). So I'm looking forward to my s day.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

PosiePootlePerkins · 25/03/2017 07:45

Please I hope you survived your no snack Friday evening! It takes a while but for me weekends now definitely start on a Saturday.
Beela well done on the weight loss, you should definitely enjoy your mothers day cake (I wonder if it will seem very sweetWink)
I definitely over indulged yesterday with dominoes pizza and (very sweet!) homemade birthday cake, but DS had a lovely day so it was worth it. They only turn 13 once!
I am back to my no snacks this weekend. Family over for dinner, I'm making chilli with rice and salad so reasonably healthy. Have a lovely time everyone Smile

Hopping back on board! Things were going so well during January but then Feb came and my S day weekends seemed to stretch into the weeks and the end of Dry January didn't help as I took up the booze againSad

I think the problem was that I swapped Fridays and Sundays around. The moment you start negotiating the rules is the start of a downward spiralBlush

So Saturday and Sunday for me now. That's it.

Oh happy Saturday everyone Flowers

Pleasedontbelikeme · 25/03/2017 09:15

Happy Saturday Grin

Well done beela! Posie sounds like you're having a lovely weekend Smile. Good to hear your experiences lessthan

I did ok yesterday, we went to the pub for tea - just the local 'Hungry Horse', which felt a bit more like a kindergarten than a pub tbh with all the kids running around, but we were contributing to that with DS so can't complain Smile. I had macaroni cheese and salad and just one glass of wine. Not exactly low cal, but that isn't the point is it? I think I may allow myself one glass of wine on Fridays - hope that isn't slippery slope territory....

Anyway, I have finished one of the assignments I had on my to-do list, as I've been up since 6.30 and am only now starting to think about maybe having something to eat - I think it might be working!! Grin

Rockaby · 26/03/2017 09:19

Hello all!

Hope everyone is having a good day. Beela I hope you enjoy your cake! I love that your son is going to treat you Cake.

I am just weighing in today at exactly 12 and a half stone. I'm planning to weigh in monthly, so will set a reminder and record it on here every month.

I love reading about everyone's experiences so far. It's all really helpful. I really want to stick to this, although last week didn't go to plan. I'm doing some batch cooking this afternoon while DH takes DD out to see his parents. Hope this will mean I'm less likely to snack in the week as I'll have meals ready to heat up.

AristonAndOn · 26/03/2017 10:37

Just having a quick check in as I'm so busy. 👋🏼👋🏼 Hope everyone is well.

twofloorsup · 26/03/2017 19:46

Hi all hope you've all had a lovely day.
I've managed Mother's Day without being bought chocolate or cake. It seems my kids are starting to realise I just don't eat it all any more Smile
Have a good week all.

AristonAndOn · 26/03/2017 20:02

My wish for Mothers Day was to not rush around from morning to night like every single day and I feel so much better for it. My little Ines have enjoyed it too. I hope everyone had a nice day. I enjoyed an icecream when the van came round. I've got a yucky medical appt tomorrow so a relaxing day was just what I needed.

beela · 26/03/2017 21:38

Evening all. Hope you've all had a good mother's day.

My cafe trip with DS was lovely, and I thoroughly enjoyed my massive slice of chocolate cake - but I couldn't finish it! I also felt the sugar rush for a good 30 minutes afterwards, I am not surprised little kids go loopy on the stuff.

I've just made a menu plan for the week and done an online shop, so hopefully this week will be a good one Halo
