Oh great posie! I'm glad they had fun and you lived to tell the tale! Hope you enjoyed your wine and sweets if you have any today.

I'm tentatively in the holiday spirits with food, (local cakes today and two glasses of wine last night), this weekend. I'm powering through the No S book, which I'm enjoying and trying not to feel guilty about the treats I'm having; let's face it, I would be having the treats regardless, so at least with No S I can forget the guilt a bit.

I'm gearing up for a good No S week this week and I've gone running (ok jogging) both mornings since we got here. I am going to try to go every day we're here. It's beautiful here, so it's no hardship.

twofloorsup · 19/03/2017 11:10

Morning all I am now in my new flat and had to have 4 plates yesterday as I was awake 7am-2am so it was a long day !
Now cleaning up the old place ready to hand the keys back.
So if you see me in here too much send me back to my cleaning Grin

PosiePootlePerkins · 19/03/2017 11:54

Thanks rockaby Smile** Definitely enjoy the treats, no need to feel guilty! Well done for getting out and exercising, you're doing better than me on that front.
Twofloorsup yay! Happy new flatSmile Hope you're not too exhausted with the move.

Hope you get settled soon Two. 😊
I'm struggling with over indulging today. I can't quit the guilt feeling. I haven't blown it I keep telling myself 😧

twofloorsup · 19/03/2017 21:09

Thank you I'm settled but exhausted Grin
No guilt required Ariston it doesn't serve any purpose.

AristonAndOn · 19/03/2017 22:08

Thank you two. X

PosiePootlePerkins · 19/03/2017 22:23

Ariston its fine its the weekend. Smile Enjoy your food and back to NoS tomorrow. No point beating yourself up, its only going to make you feel worse.
Altogether now.... mark it and move on!

Weighing in, at last the scales have shifted. -2lb but that has taken a month! I have now lost a stone following NoS, so thats's 14lb in around 24 weeks. Even though its been so slow for me, I feel fine about it because I don't feel deprived and I know this is a way of eating I can stick with for life. I would have given up long ago if I were following a different more restrictive diet, and put all of the weight plus more back on by now. So I'm sticking with NoS!
Have a great week everyone Smile

Great milestone, well done posie.

This is from the no s website: Sustainable weight loss tends to be very slow. A crude (but still useful) estimate is about half a pound a week.

....so it sounds as though you are bang on!

Pleasedontbelikeme · 20/03/2017 09:47

Well done posie that's good going. I didn't lose anything Sad...then again, I didn't gain anything either Smile. I certainly made the most of my 3 S days, and think I may have been making my meals too big 'just in case' on the no-S days, so will stick with it. It seems like a sensible way to live anyway, and given my trajectory since Christmas has certainly been upwards and 3 days of abandon, no change is certainly not a bad outcome Smile

Cocopopsrule · 20/03/2017 10:56

Hello everyone. I'm struggling so much despite this being the easiest diet ever. I am having to use all my will power to just get through the day and do necessary tasks at work. I just feel so mentally exhausted that exercising will power on diet seems too much. I did a workout last night and I feel a bit better and focusing on lifting my mood with gratitude thoughts. Thing is I know that eating well will help me.

PosiePootlePerkins · 20/03/2017 16:24

Thanks beela good to know I'm doing the right thing, been hard to keep the faith sometimes but I have just kept plodding on!
Please maintenance is a good thing! Keep going I am sure you'll see a loss soon.
Coco sorry you're struggling. Do you think your body may be adjusting to less sugar? I definitely went through a slump early on when my body adjusted to not having sugary snacks all the time. Hopefully you'll start to feel better soon.

Thanks posie, I will Smile. I just thought actually, I also had steroid injections in my knees on Tuesday (for arthritis) so I've also been less active than usual this week. I usually walk the dogs an hour or so a day and I didn't do that Weds-Fri as the GP advised to take it easy for a few days - so back on it today.
Hi coco I know what you mean about needing mental energy to stick to any diet... would adding more non-sugary drinks maybe help with the willpower? I often find having a cuppa helps me get through wobbles.

Cocopopsrule · 20/03/2017 22:08

posie if I had not stuffed my face all weekend I'd say you were right but as it was a total binge I think I'm just unhappy with other pressures - work, family etc.

please you are right, a massive mug of tea does really help at 11am and 4pm. I've had 2 today. Not managed to forego the teaspoon of sugar I add to them though. But other than that an ok start to the week with 3 one plate meals and a strength training session.

PosiePootlePerkins · 21/03/2017 07:12

Sorry to hear that coco Flowers Its really hard not to eat when you have other stresses in your life. Hope things get better for you soon.

Checking in to distract myself - just in from work which is a big snacking moment for me normally. I'm going to try the massive-cup-of-tea-strategy in a minute. Yesterday was a very long day but I stuck it out, which feels good.

How are people approaching packed lunches (if you take one to work)? Mine normally has quite a few "snacky" things in it and I'd quite like to find some new ideas that are more like a proper plate of food. In the past I've done salads, but am unconvinced that will be filling enough to get me to 6pm!

PosiePootlePerkins · 21/03/2017 16:11

Hi chicken well done for staying on plan! Regarding lunches I usually take a sandwich with granary bread and usually ham or chicken salad. Also a yoghurt and some fruit- an apple or some grapes. I used to take crisis but decided that even the 'healthy' baked ones wouldn't really fit properly on a plate! Sometimes I take a pasta salad but would still also have the yoghurt and fruit. It can get a bit boring but then I'm a creature of habit!!

OP posts:
PosiePootlePerkins · 21/03/2017 16:12

I meant a ham salad sandwich, not a salad plus a sandwich sorry!

OP posts:
beela · 21/03/2017 17:21

Chicken, this is my worst time for snacking temptation! I had lunch at 12, so I'm ready to eat again now. Plus I've got to feed the dc. I'll eat with dh, but that often isn't until around 8. I'm going to have another cuppa in a mo.

Coco hope you are feeling better about things today.

AChickenCalledKorma · 21/03/2017 18:48

Haven't read the book yet, but does it say much about sensible intervals between meals? I also eat lunch quite early and it feels like a long stretch till dinner which will be about 7pm. (Normally earlier, but we are waiting till our daughters go out so we can pretend we are civilised over something they don't like to eat!)

beela · 21/03/2017 19:14

Hmm, i don't know.

It definitely works better for me when I eat with the kids at 5ish. But it's also nice to have a grown up meal sometimes, and by the time we've got them into bed and then cooked it is usually 8ish.

Cocopopsrule · 22/03/2017 11:06

I eat with dd about 18.30 - not a brilliant day yesterday. Baking is a really good way to entertain my dd when I have to do the whole pick up, play, dinner bath and bed alone. At least I didn't eat all the results. I need to find other make and do activities for after nursery.

Pleasedontbelikeme · 22/03/2017 11:21

We usually eat together (DH, DS, and I) at about 6-6.30 pm. I have the same thing with baking, DS loves to bake, but thankfully it is usually a weekend activity as he's school age (8).... we do have a beautiful lemon drizzle cake in a tub on top of the fridge that has been there since Sunday, but I have managed to resist so far Halo

Cocopopsrule · 22/03/2017 11:42

Well done please tub out if my eyeline is a good idea. Thanks for the support beela and posie I am feeling a bit better today. Might go for a walk at lunchtime

beela · 22/03/2017 17:18

Coco I love baking too, with or without dc. For post nursery how about making playdough instead and then playing with it? Or making something for tea (pizza/bread?)?
