Hi champagne and Posie -ouch Shock
Glad they got it out for you.
I agree about obscene amounts of food. I have always been a feeder and that has stopped now too.
Amazing how quickly we can change our mindset with something so simple.

PosiePootlePerkins · 23/04/2017 09:55

Hi Two yes my mindset has definitely changed with my own boys, I often forget to offer them anything between meals now, also our portion sizes are pretty good. I am trying hard to bring them up with a sense of moderation around food, I really hope to break the cycle.

My kids no longer get offered pudding every day. I may remember now and then and tell them they have waste eggs or there are yogurts in the fridge but they haven't complained and don't seem to miss having it daily.
I definitely eat better now I know there's only 3 attempts at it every day Smile

twofloorsup · 23/04/2017 10:19

Waste eggs ????
Obviously I meant Easter eggs Grin

AristonAndOn · 24/04/2017 14:00

Yes Two, I've stopped automatically offering snacks between meals and wait for them to ask. I don't want them to eat out of habit, but haven't drawn attention to it. Having two little girls, I want them to be healthy, but am worried about them not having an healthy relationship with food like me.

Headingtowardsforty · 24/04/2017 16:24

Hi everyone. I've found my second week harder than the first and stayed the same, but am okay with that. Have gone back to work today, but had no munchies around today, so that was good. Will get harder as week goes on and the snacks start to appear, fingers crossed I just remember to say no thanks!!

PosiePootlePerkins · 24/04/2017 16:49

Ariston you are doing the very best for your Dds by being a good example. They will pick up on the good habits you are forming and it will become normal for them.
Heading well done, just focus on one day at a time, eventually it will seem natural to say no to the snacks, in fact I haven't had a single biscuit in the staffroom since I started in October and no one's ever commented.
I am glad to be back in routine, got my attachments fitted today for my Invisalign braces so now have these weird little white bumps on my teeth! No excuses for snacking now!

Ariston I know what you mean. Part of the reason this diet works so well for me (tho I don't really think of it as a 'diet' anymore) is that I don't need to talk about it or be different from the rest of my family. And I definitely don't want my children to know that I want to lose weight!

I've been keeping up my exercise - last week I managed 4 shreds and a swim. Ds asked why I was exercising - I told him it was to make me strong. Which is true (tho I'd like it to make me thinner too Grin ).

twofloorsup · 24/04/2017 17:55

Hello all I'm thinking of skipping breakfast and going for an 8 hour window to eat each day.
Did it today and my head is banging but I think that is lack of sleep !
I'm loving the healthier mentality around food in my house right now Smile

Riversleep · 24/04/2017 19:00

Beela I agree about not wanting my dc to know about dieting. they are both naturally very thin and schools now spend so much time on the obesity epidemic ( rightly) that my eldest in particular can get quite anxious about 'healthy' foods and foods that are fattening. I don't want them to develop food hangups.

I've had a bit of a bad day today. I have a really awful cough. I'm on antibiotics, but in desperation, I had loads of honey and lemon and sucked lozenges all day to try and stop the coughing. It didnt even work!

beela · 24/04/2017 19:33

My dc are like that too river. There's nothing on my eldest, and once dd comes out of the toddler phase I suspect she will have inherited dh's tall slim frame as well. I have a vision of myself looking like a short dumpy elf next to my willowy family!

Sorry to hear you aren't well Flowers Sick days count as s-days too though so just eat whatever makes you feel better, with no guilt.

Riversleep · 24/04/2017 21:42

PH yes thanks I didn't think about that re sick days! Both me and DH were the same very thin children but put on weight in our teens, so the chances are they will be the same. But I think my first diet when I was 18 and had for the first time put on a tiny bit of weight was the start of my weight problems.

twofloorsup · 25/04/2017 19:34

Hello all.
Hope you don't mind my aimless wittering on here but I try not to talk diets in real life Grin
I seem to have found that I need a good breakfast to set me up for the day and then a small meal almost could call it a snack and a good solid dinner. I was struggling to work out how to fit it all in and that seems to be what works for me for now.
I'm nearly 4 months in now and can definitely say this is a lifestyle change. I couldn't face granola today , and that was a massive binge trigger food for me previously !
Happy days Smile

PosiePootlePerkins · 25/04/2017 20:27

Two - witter awayGrin That's what the thread is forSmile Good to hear you've worked out a way of eating that suits you. Thinking about it I have a decent breakfast and dinner, my lunch is not a snack but I don't eat as much as I used to. A sandwich, yoghurt and fruit seems to do me fine. I'm a creature of habit really so that's probably why NoS works so well for me.
I was sitting in the doctors waiting room earlier and picked up a WeightWatchers magazine, and as I leafed through it all I could think was, thank goodness I'm not sucked into any of this nonsense anymore! All that counting points, following recipes, fretting about every mouthful, trying to pretend it was a lifestyle change whilst secretly wishing it could all be over soon....no thanks! Those days are long gone.
Hope you're all getting on OK this week.

Yes Posie, the other day my aunts and nieces were going on about weight watcher meals, best tips, points etc and I said, I just eat what I want and they gave me a really gone out look. It's so foreign to them to eat normally. I'm so pleased I don't do that anymore.

twofloorsup · 25/04/2017 20:48

Haha the weight watchers ads on the radio and tv are driving me bonkers at the mo !!
I'm shouting at the radio "diets don't work" Grin

beela · 27/04/2017 07:39

Morning! Just checking in. Doing pretty well this week, aside from a bit of cake at work yesterday. It was very good cake though!

Still exercising, I've been getting up early to do my dvd.

I put on a skirt the yesterday that I haven't worn for a month or so.... I could get it on and off without undoing it! A few more lb and I might treat myself to some clothes shopping.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

twofloorsup · 27/04/2017 08:18

Morning. I failed to go to the gym yesterday and Tuesday.
I'm going swimming tonight and will have to force myself to go to the gym Friday. I knew it would be a struggle but I'm so tired this week I'm just not feeling it.
I need a good boot up the backside Grin

pitterpatterrain · 27/04/2017 12:01

Checking in!
Fell of the wagon with a magnum yesterday. Rather irritatingly at the end I thought, well I could have not eaten that - the anticipation was better tbh

pitterpatterrain · 27/04/2017 12:02

Two I agree! Can you boot me please?? Grin
Feeling a bit lacklustre this week, I felt wiped out a day or so ago so wondering whether I had a cold

AristonAndOn · 27/04/2017 14:02

Well done on all the exercising! I did one gym session, went back for a second and threw my back out, so lost 50 pounds this week, sadly not from me but to the Oesteopath!

twofloorsup · 27/04/2017 19:09

Pitter we can boot each other Smile
Ariston that's not good news hope you're feeling a bit better now.
I had a swim and am shattered now. Need a proper dinner but all I want to eat is cheese bagels Grin

AristonAndOn · 27/04/2017 19:53

Two, I had a more time consuming dinner planned, but we all ended up with beans on toast at my daughters request and it was very satisfying. We had bagels at lunch 👍🏼

pitterpatterrain · 27/04/2017 21:44

Two, Beela - thanks for the inspiration
Just went for a swim and it was fab 👍🏼
