I'm starting tomorrow. And if a blimp like me can get further than day one, anyone can! 😂

I'm a pretty good walker. I can walk for miles. But I never tried running before

I'll be following a route I know, as running with a white cane may be a bit, um, hard...I want to run, not pole vault!

Anyone out there just started? About to start? Or just want to ask me whether I'm on glue for even attempting this?

I will join GreyandGrumpy (snap!) and go out tomorrow.

MargotLovedTom1 · 13/02/2017 22:57

Sounds encouraging Lepre.

Another would be runner here. Have been in a beginners running group since Jan, but they are too fast for me, so I need a daily fix instead which is more suited to my pace.
Tomorrow I plan to do 5 mins x 4 interspersed with 2 min walks. My running club was on 10 mins interspersed with 1 mins, and I could do it. But I have to take the dog too, so I'm not quite sure if she will go in the right direction, but hopefully she will be delighted.
I can run much more than I could when I started though, back in Jan.

Also posting in Fat Club thread.

knittingwithnettles · 13/02/2017 23:05

I couldn't do it not I could do it...Shock

OrangeIsTheNewPop · 14/02/2017 07:44

Good morning!

Sorry I didn't rerurn last night...I've come down with a DV bug, and was sleeping. Hopefully if I rest today, I'll be well enough to leave the bathroom do my RWC tomorrow.

If you can't do all of the one minute runs, just walk it! A 20 minute brisk walk is better than nothing! ❤

Hope you feel better soon.

HoHumming · 14/02/2017 22:30

I went for my first 'run'. Delighted I went though I took it easy between walking and running. Came home and opened a box of chocs though - aaagghhh!!!!!!

OrangeIsTheNewPop · 14/02/2017 22:32

Hope you're feeling better Orange. Well done to everyone who's managed to get out. I'm feeling like utter death so god knows when I'll join you all. 3 bloody weeks of back to back illnesses! Grr. I really, really want to get started, this thread is inspiring!!

OrangeIsTheNewPop · 14/02/2017 22:44

Lurking it's frustrating isn't it? We will be here to spur you on when you're back on your feet.

ladyflip the app was doing the same for me too. Not sure what happened! And I haven't managed to get out since last Thursday 🙈 Small chops and baby chops both had the cold and passed it to me which brought on a 3 day migraine 🙄 Aiming to go tomorrow morning!

HoHumming · 17/02/2017 14:36

Just logging here as I went on my second jog/walk last night. In total I did about 4K I think. I'm very slow and I remember jogging before and my sister told me it must take more energy to run as slowly as I do as it was unnaturally slow!

PopGoesTheOysteryBullshit · 18/02/2017 09:05

Oh well done! I came on here to log yesterday's WRC, but ended up kicking off on one of the MLM threads instead Blush

devoncreamtea · 18/02/2017 12:01

Hello all,
May I join you? I did my first c25 today, was harder than I thought! I am trying to lose weight and get a bit healthier all round, would like to lose about 1.5 stone, also using mfp and generally trying to cut down the bad and up the good! Inspired by how well everyone is doing on here, I cannot imagine running for a full 25 mins ever after today!! But I will keep going as I feel a bit ashamed that I am so unfit!

PopGoesTheOysteryBullshit · 18/02/2017 12:53

Hi Devon! The more the merrier!

HoHumming · 18/02/2017 15:49

I did my third 'run' of my first week this morning. 3K in half an hour. Sounds terrible. I had no interest going out and not much when out doing it either. Now that I am home, I am really happy I went out.

LaundryFairy · 18/02/2017 20:25

Hi can I join in? I've just done the first run of week 1 yesterday with DS (age 14) and we both could do with the encouragement. We're planning to go out for W1R2 tomorrow - hopefully neither of us will bottle!

Ladyflip · 20/02/2017 14:19

Oh god oh god oh god

I've got w5 r3 on Wednesday and I don't feel ready.

20 minutes without stopping???

Is it possible?

Shortandsweet20 · 20/02/2017 14:45

Can I join! I want to lose a stone but I do a lot of home work outs but I think running will help! I can walk for hours but running outside is a. Real struggle, even though I can run on a treadmill!

LaundryFairy · 20/02/2017 15:42

DS and I have done W1R2 now, and there seems to be a bit of a problem with pacing - his running is faster than mine and my walking is faster than his. Any tips on how to manage this?

theflickyones · 20/02/2017 19:11

Hello all, this thread is great! I went for w1 r1 today, after a bit of a failed attempt yesterday.
Not sure about pacing but my partner and I run in laps of a field. He goes much faster than me but I'm not left behind. It'll do until I feel fit/confident enough to go on the street and do it.

LaundryFairy · 21/02/2017 20:14

Hi flickyones - thanks for the suggestion. We've been doing a large circular run, so I don't think we can do our own thing entirely. That and the fact that I'm the timekeeper, so DS needs to be within shouting distance. Guess I'm just going to have to get faster!

We did W1R3 today in miserable weather - high winds and rain. I reckon anything will seem pleasant after that.

Pottedplants · 21/02/2017 22:11

Just checking in here. I started last week so this evening did week 2 run 1. I enjoyed running in the rain. I'm dreadfully slow. I wonder is there any way of picking up a barely faster than walking speed?

devoncreamtea · 21/02/2017 22:44

Hello runners! My legs felt a bit achy after Saturday's efforts, I had planned to go again on Monday but I have got a cold so I thought better of it. Still motivated to start again when it shifts and I can actually breathe !!

LaundryFairy · 26/02/2017 11:27

Did W2R2 this morning and neither of us were feeling very energetic but we made it through. I'm somewhat dreading week 3...
