I'm in - got a lot to go. BMI like a phone number!

OhHolyFuck · 03/01/2017 18:37

random I don't eat with my kids, they want to eat too early for me (4.30/5pm) and I like being able to sit and relax with food not deal with 'who's got a drink/who needs wiping etc'
So yes, I do 2 different meals, though 2/4 nights of the week I eat dinner at work so their dad tends to do them something quick and easy because he can't cook for toffee

Weird day today - came home after a night shift super tired so went to bed with no food until 1.30pm, then wasn't hungry when I got up but eventually forced down a sw ready meal at 2.30pm because had to be back in work by 3.30pm
Now in work and starving! Brought some fruit snacks but they're all gone
So -

B - nothing
L - sw ready meal
D - strawberries, mango, pineapple and yoghurt
Dr - 1 coffee, diet tonic water
Ex - none, been at work/asleep the whole day

Have booked a consultation with a personal trainer for next Wednesday though, so we'll see how that goes...

Mrsmorton · 03/01/2017 18:38

How often does everyone weigh in? I've heard conflicting theories about more frequently being better as you can nip things in the bud but also less frequently better because of daily fluctuations...

Salobrena · 03/01/2017 18:43

So far so good. Done my walks and have stayed within my calories (logged on my fitness pal)
I am considering not weighing in until I have done 4 weeks. I don't want to be disheartened if I am not seeing results on the scales.

MsAwesomeDragon · 03/01/2017 19:25

I'm only going to be weighing once a month. I don't really know about the psychology for anyone else but I know for me if I weigh daily, or even weekly, then I get upset if I've gained/not lost so I eat, and if I have lost then I'm obviously doing brilliantly so I celebrate with cake Hmm. So for me, not weighing is a good idea, and that seems to fit with it being a lifestyle change rather than a diet, as naturally slim people don't weigh every day (or my slim friends don't anyway).

I've been out for a walk today, about 3 miles ish, them another 3 miles with of steps just by popping to the shop and dropping DD of at a friend's house. Back to work tomorrow though, so will find it much harder to fit in the walking.

HerRoyalFattyness · 03/01/2017 19:44

I've weighed daily so far.
Sunday I was 16st 9
Monday I was 16st 8.8
Today I was 16st 8.4
Grin

I am planning on weighing weekly. I only weighed Monday to check the damage from the massive dinner I had on Sunday.

When I saw I'd lost a tiny amount it amused me so thought I'd check again today.

GreyandGrumpy48 · 03/01/2017 20:02

I weigh daily just because my weight fluctuates so much that it's difficult to see any pattern if I weigh myself less and there is a danger that one bad weigh in makes me give up. Food still not great today but no snacking and I did my steps. Day 3 of yoga challenge to come

RandomMcRandomface · 04/01/2017 03:15

I'll weigh weekly although am like dragon - a disappointing result can be a disincentive to continue. I feel great though, but did probably offend a colleague by not eating some chocolate he'd bought. Oops. Those situations are so hard, it's not until I watch what I eat that I realise how much pressure we're under to eat junk at times

lovelearning · 04/01/2017 05:15

I'll take it for now

Artificial sweetener could be making you fat

If you can't kick the sweet habit

Switch to maple syrup

Superfood Sweetener: Maple Syrup is Nutritious and Low Glycemic

Well done random on avoiding the chocolate.

Awesome I also like to celebrate weight loss with cake/crisps/prosecco....

Well done royal!

I can't decide when to weigh in. I think I'll try weekly. I'm thinking of going to the gym to weigh in as you get a bit of paper and then it's there. In black and white.

Newbiecat · 04/01/2017 05:50

I'd love to join this group! Kids back at school today so hopefully should be easier.
I am 3 months post Caesarian section and need motivation to stop snacking ( & stealing from the kids selection boxes!)
Chocolate binging is my downfall especially when I'm tired after being up in the night feeding (DS BF so at least extra calorie loss there!)
It seems to be harder with my 3rd child. I'd like to lose 10kg to bring my BMI to around 24.
Any tips on willpower to avoiding chocolate binges?!

openingthexmasspirit · 04/01/2017 10:36

My mantra today must get out of the house, Had a good breakfast and have put all remaining biscuits and sweets in my DS room with instruction not to let me have them.
Just realised that I'm going to have to get weighed in front of someone when I join sw on Thursday erghhhh that does not fill me with joy.
Have a good day all. Smile

OhHolyFuck · 04/01/2017 16:33

Checking in, how we all doing?

Menu for today looks like this -

Breakfast/lunch - sausages, bacon, beans, mushrooms and scrambled eggs
Dinner - salmon and sweet potatoes I think
Snacks - onken vanilla yoghurt and fruit
Drinks - coffee, diet tonic water, maybe options hot chocolate
Exercise - school run and back x 2, other than that spent the day in bed fucking ME

HerRoyalFattyness · 04/01/2017 16:34

Not good today. Not had a lot of sleep, the kids are doing my head in and I just can't be arsed so I've ordered pizza Blush

OhHolyFuck · 04/01/2017 16:34

Oh god, I've just realised that that reads really rude, as though I was 'fucking me all day in bed'! I meant ME, the condition! Oh bloody hell! Blush

MsAwesomeDragon · 04/01/2017 17:52

I knew what you meant oh Wink

Back to work today for me :( Had news that one of my work friends is leaving at the end of the school year, which makes me sad. Then the Ofsted word was mentioned by the head, which scared the shit out of us all, but currently it's just rumours that they may visit this year rather than a definite visit tomorrow. We're about due for a visit from them, so it's not like it would be a huge surprise, but it does mean more stress trying to be Ofsted ready all the time :(

openingthexmasspirit · 04/01/2017 18:21

Msawesome
We had ofsted 2 days after we got back from xmas holidays last yr was all a bit of a nightmare.
Had a good day just waiting for my spag Bol have replaced half the mince with red lentils and added lots of veg. I did contemplate wholewheat spaghetti but seem to remember it's disgusting.
My first day at sw tomorrow just trying to find the lightest possible clothing to get weighed in lol, dreading it to be honest I have an idea of what I weigh but god knows what xmas has done.

Canklesofglitter · 04/01/2017 19:41

Been awol for a few days but have made reasonable food choices. Trying to do low carb but definitely won't be able to get down to 20g carbs so going for 50g.

Need to think of low carb breakfast ideas for early starts.

Stellar67 · 05/01/2017 08:06

Xmas - I always wear the same clothes to SW! Light and floaty, even in winter.

I wonder if I need to go to SW or just get back to routine. We are not back at school and work till next Monday and this limbo is just infuriating now.

I'm enjoying the porridge in the morning though.

openingthexmasspirit · 05/01/2017 08:53

Must change my name I'm over xmas now.
Am ready for my weigh in am excited and scared. Can't wait to start feeling very motivated will see if this is still the case after I e been weighed lol.

Have a great day everyone . X

UserOne · 05/01/2017 09:21

Today I realised how much sugar I'm actually having each day! I'm addicted to coffee, have many cups a day with 2 sugars each time. So bad! It adds up, but you don't always think about it at the time. Always easier to drink calories without thinking than it is to eat them for me.

QuizteamBleakley · 05/01/2017 09:56

@openingthexmasspirit I started at SW last night. Slightly mortified that I weighed over a stone more than I'd guessed at but it was all subtle and low-key and she didn't shout out "ONE AT A TIME, PLEASE" which was nice. As it was my 1st weigh-in I kept my boots on, thick jeans, baggy (and hefty) woolie jumper and had my keys in my pocket! I will definitely see a loss next week!

My mantra: If I cheat, I cheat myself but crisps are SO good

wishing4sun · 05/01/2017 10:05

@quizteambleakley
Was openingthexmasspirit new name.
I've opted for jeans because that's what I wear all the time anyway and a lighter top.
I have spoke to the lady via messengers and she seems lovely I can't be doing with people shouting or shaming me so fingers crossed. I'm really nervous, but am putting o. My big girl pants (literally) and getting. With it.

Stellar67 · 05/01/2017 12:25

Good Luck wishing!

QuizteamBleakley · 05/01/2017 13:39

Sounds like me, wishing - thought they'd yell out my weight! All was fine as they did the newbies at the end. Get a copy of either Bella or Woman magazine - there's a voucher in there for a free week or free membership or summat. Saved a £5er.

Good luck - I quite enjoyed it actually and randomly won a basket of fruit & veg (raffle - I only bought 1 ticket for 10p!)
