Ouch well that was an eye opener, group was lovely and no shouting but I had underestimated my weight. Blush but feel confident I can do this.

QuizteamBleakley · 05/01/2017 14:10

Me too, Wishing, me too. Strapped on my Fitbit and donned my walking boots and went for a lovely walk. Bit breathless after but already done 10,286 steps. Hurray. Walked past the corner shop without ducking in for a multi pack of crisps.

MsAwesomeDragon · 05/01/2017 18:45

Well done for going to sw. The first meeting is always the hardest because it is a bit unknown and you aren't sure of your weight on their scales. Now you've taken that step, the rest of it isn't so hard, SW is one of the easier clubs to lose weight with (I should know, I've done it often enough).

I've had quite a good day today, drank loads of water, didn't eat any of the chocolates in the staff room, nice healthy lunch. Haven't done much walking, but might pop out later for a stroll around the block.

RandomMcRandomface · 06/01/2017 09:10

How does SW differ from other programmes? (Curious) I've done WW before and it really worked, but haven't managed to make it work for me since.

NewYearNewMe78 · 06/01/2017 09:27

Hi, would like to join please. Name says it all really !
Really want to get fit this year and lose weight. Joined the gym last year and could count on my hand how many times I've been.
Seriously lack motivation and just eat rubbish at night.

Kiwimiri · 06/01/2017 20:31

82.4kg! Down 2kg so far...

wishing4sun · 06/01/2017 21:11

@Randommcrandomface
No calorie counting or points in sw which so far so good in my case only 2 days In Though.

Stellar67 · 07/01/2017 10:28

How is everyone? I sickened myself of the Xmas leftovers last night. I am weighing in on Monday at the leisure centre scales and then I'm doing that weekly. Like a paper copy.

SherlockPotter · 07/01/2017 10:38

I'd like to join.

I joined the gym yesterday, this is after having to buy size 20 jeans in Primark. I currently weigh 112.9kg and would like to get down to 72.12kg.

I can join in with the morning walks on a Monday, Thursday and Saturday (my rest days from the gym).

DesperatelySeeking2016 · 07/01/2017 19:35

I'm doing WW online and loving it. They have a forum on the app which is really supportive. This week I have lost 5 of the 8lbs I put on over December!

DesperatelySeeking2016 · 07/01/2017 19:35

Just to clarify that doesn't mean I only need to lose 8lbs! I need to lose 3 stone Confused

RandomMcRandomface · 07/01/2017 21:34

I have just weighed in after one week and not lost anything Sad

I'm quite disappointed as have denied myself a lot of treats, eaten no sugar, cut back significantly on artificial sweetener products, and been for two quite hard runs, one bike and one yoga session.

Aaaargh!

I think I need to start tracking - not a fan of MFP though.

Thanks wishing - do SW world do online? Other wise might look into WW again.

DesperatelySeeking2016 · 07/01/2017 21:54

I don't like mfp either but i did quite like Nutracheck. It is British but not free.

Stellar67 · 08/01/2017 09:09

I've been using Lose it. It's a bit like MFP. I quite like it.

Stellar67 · 08/01/2017 09:10

Random don't be disheartened. You have had an excellent week.
You can do SW online. They have an app.

HerRoyalFattyness · 08/01/2017 09:26

I'm at 16 st 8.2.
I've not even lost a full pound yet!

Unescorted · 08/01/2017 09:31

random the first step is to stop gaining. So to have not gained is a good result. I took a few weeks to stop putting no extra weight before I thought about getting rid.

This week has been a good week. Dh has been good to his word and mithers me to get out at the weekend (run one day walk the other). I haven't managed to get out during the week, but I am hoping to when it gets a bit lighter.

Food wise I have stoped snacking between meals and reduced portion size eg 1 slice of toast instead of 2. Put pasta / potatoes on my plate as I would normally & then take 1/3rd off. Add more green vegetables to make up for it.

I am going for a weekly weigh- in on a Sunday. today I am 77.5Kg, waist 95, hips 102, bicep 30, thigh 59. BMI 25.8. In summary I have lost 1.5kg and between 1-3cm on my body measurements except my bust which has shrunk like deflating balloons.

Mrsmorton · 08/01/2017 10:13

Reluctant to post about my weight again...

Anyway, I've been doing well, lost about 5lb of Xmas "bloat"so feeling a bit less inflated.

I'm absolutely knackered though. Ive been religiously getting my steps in by walking the dog and running 30-45 min plus doing a bit of resistance stuff. Yesterday I did the park run then walked the dog for about 90min.

Saved all my calories for a meal out which was lovely, had salad instead of rice so was pleased with myself!

This morning I have a date with a long slow run but I feel like an empty wetsuit!!
I don't know what to do, fight through and do my run or have a morning off and a long walk this afternoon.

Any advice would be great!!

unescorted your food plan sounds ideal, it's just making those small sustainable decisions that save hundreds of calories. Great advice there. I'm a Friday weigh in because I'm not always in the same place on the weekend but I need to be a Friday measured as well I think. It's a lot more useful than weighing. Thanks for the push in ththe right direction!!

Stellar67 · 08/01/2017 10:21

Unescorted that's all great planning and good ideas. I also decluttered my plate this morning and I wasn't hungry or missed out.

MrsMorton you need a rest day. Recharging is important. Do some stretches if you feel you must.

I'm writing my meal plan for the week. DH working away so it's soup and veg packed meals for me.

Going well with the food side of sw, lots of veg and fruit. Not so great on exercise seem to lost my mojo I was a total gym addict b4 xmas, have booked to go see a trainer at the gym to hopefully get me back on track.

MsAwesomeDragon · 08/01/2017 20:00

keep I use the Easyloss app. I'm using virtual gastric band. I'm not sure of the difference between that one and the bikini body. I think there are different hypnosis sessions on each one but the guidelines are the same. I've listened to hypnosis sessions 1 and 2 on the vgb, but haven't done 3 or 4 because I'm happiest with the first session. I believe that one of the others (not sure if it's bikini body or little black dress) has a hypnosis about emotional eating, and one has a session about sugar/chocolate addiction, both of which I think I would benefit from but I'm sticking to the one I've got for the minute as it's working for me.

I haven't weighed this week, as I'm just weighing once a month, but I don't think I've lost much/anything this week. I've only just gone back to listening to the hypnosis and there have been Xmas chocolates and biscuits left in the house and at work, so I've eaten more of them than I really wanted to.

Random I agree with the others, not gaining is the first step to losing weight. Keep going and the weight will come off. SW do an online version, but when I tried it I found I cheated that much more than when I used to go to a group, because there wasn't really the accountability I need of someone else weighing me. I'm doing better with the hypnosis at home, but that might not be for everyone I know (but it only costs £5 which is significantly less than either we or SW online so might be worth a try if you fancy it) I feel like I evangelise about this hypnosis, but it's only because I'm finding it the easiest way of losing weight I've ever tried, and I've tried most of them.
