Just that really. I was going to start Slimming World again on Friday. I've half heartedly been following WW as I wanted to sort portions blah blah blah etc etc.

I woke up today and have just had enough. I'm bored of it all. Ironically, I weigh far more than I ever did before I started dieting almost 8yrs ago.
I never had before and was always between 8-9 stone. I had gained a stone after having DS2 and decided to go along to SW.
I now have 4 stone to lose Blush and I'm so sick of diets!
Any tips? Anyone tried Paul Mckenna? Is it another fad?

Kittycat that is great ! Especially on the inch loss which is all that really matters and you will soon be down a dress size.

I can relate to how it feels when you have cut down so much as I am exactly the same, so the first few weeks I cut down in stages so instead of about 4 chocolate bars and 6 bags of crisps I switch to lower calorie options and "only" have two etc.

I am also veggie and find low carb difficult. Do you like quorn ? or Falafel?
I try to have homemade soup for lunch with either no bread or only 1 slice, or lots of quorn sausages / chilli / chicken pieces etc and reduce the amount of potatoes but its still difficult.

No, I don't like Quorn. I like Linda McCartney, she seems to have a few things out including, iirc, pulled chicken and pork that I'm going to try this week.

How's everyone doing? I fell off the wagon on Monday and Tuesday (Think cake, chocolate and crisps. Grin ) but I'm back on it now. So far...Wink How are you all doing?

Hi, I would like to ask those of you who are doing PM how important you think the CD/hypnosis part is? I bought this book a few years ago but found the CD unbearable. It was so long and boring and all I could think about when listening to it was all the other things I could be doing instead. I have now resurrected the book and am thinking about giving it another go but I can't find the CD (maybe I binned it Grin). Would it work without the CD?

Hi Blue. Smile I understand about the CD, it is very boring and drags. However, that's the one bit I have stuck to! I think it's making me more positive about myself.
I haven't done the diet without the CD before so can't compare. You could always give it a try, see how you go?

Thanks Kitty. The two things I noticed when I had a go the last time were 1) it doesn't take as much food to make me feel full as I thought it did and 2) I don't actually have such a sweet tooth as I thought I had. The problem though was that for whatever reason I still wanted to overeat and eat sugary foods and struggled to stop myself. The whole leaving food on your plate was beyond me Blush I guess this is where the CD may help. I'll have to have another look for it.

I tend to do the CD before bed when I'm pretty drowsy and zone out. Makes me less attentive to it (although I always wake up when he counts to 10 and have to get back up for a wee).

I hear you there! I want to eat, what it is doesn't matter! Must give the craving buster in the book a try. I did it once before and it worked. However, I am more drawn to eat fruit rather than sweet stuff now, (I want to spend my calories wisely! ) and I have just got some salad bits in I'm really looking forward to. Maybe the CD does work? Smile

I've just ordered this book .. I'm fed up of my disordered eating. I don't eat because I'm hungry most of the time .. usually out of boredom I think. I'm going to give this a try because diets just make me pile on more weight in the end.

Yeah, hasn't been going too well with me so I am doing it properly. Just ordered another 90 Day Journal on eBay. They seem to be out of stock new everywhere. No cakes, dark choc-covered rice cakes, wine etc for me now! Kespecially going everyone. It's difficult to get back into this way of eating but worth it.

I'm a pm addict and have most of his books- he's helped me in every area.

I can make you thin never really worked for me because it didn't get to the underlying cause of why I just couldn't stop eating even when full. I just started the 'freedom from emotional eating' system and I find its way better- its got straight to the cause of my reliance on food.

I really recommend it to anyone struggling on the standard I can make you thin system.

Blue I was just the same as you, I just HAD to eat food if it was in front of me. Try the emotional eating system instead?

I'm going to give this a try. I did it about 4 years ago and lost weight. I don't remember why I stopped doing it - listening the cd might have put me off. Of all the diets, non diets and plans I've tried in the past two years I've lost nothing really, I'm still 12st 10 and 5ft 7 I'd like to be 10 7.
I get a bit confused with paul mck saying eat when you're hungry as what to do if i don't feel hungry at lunch so I leave it then I eat about 5 and then when I get to dinner time about 7 I don't feel hungry cause I've eaten 2 hours ago. Dinner is my favourite meal but if I've eaten a few hours ago I won't feel hungry. How best do I manage all this?

What book should get I can make y thin or the emotional eating one

I know what you mean Nell. What about breakfast? I'm not usually hungry then but if I skip it, in an hour I'm starving! It's not always convenient to eat then.
I listen to the CD, and if I remember, I put my cutlery down between each mouthful for my dinner and try to eat slowly. However, I have also cut down my portion sizes so what I have on my plate I want to eat! Fully paid up member of the clean plate club here! Grin Seriously though, I have found a new found enthusiasm for exercise. I was never into it before but now I am exercising daily, so the CD works there at least anyway.
Would love to hear others point of view too.

Hi, I tried pk "i can make you thin" when it first came out and found it was the first plan that worked on me. I lost 25kg in about 5 months and kept it off for 3 years. Grin Saddly I've put all the weight back on since going to uni because of stress eating.Blush Planning on trying it again. My sister who did it at the same time as me lost about 25kg and has kept it offGrin. I would definitely recommend it.
I would say the trick is to drink lots of water and stay away from foods that melt away in your mouth.
