Does anyone want to join me in losing weight for the last time?

About three years ago I weighed 13 stone, and out of nowhere I found the motivation to go down to 9 and a half stone in a year. Since then, it's gone up and down, mostly up and now I'm back up to almost 12 stone.

So I've decided now is the time to find that motivation again and lose all this weight - for the last time. No more putting it back on!

Start Weight: 11st 12lb
Height: 5'2
Goal Weight: 9st 7lb

Does anyone want to join me? I think I'd do so much better if there were a group of us all waiting to hear how the others had done and give each other plenty of support.

I'm tired of being the "big friend" and just want to be comfortable in my own skin. I've got a holiday booked in June that I'd love to be confident enough for to get all my old bikinis back out, so my first little goal is to have lost a good half a stone by then!

Here is some imaginary Cake to bribe you all to come and join me.

Well, I'm home from visiting friends and although the food I ate was pretty disastrous, I only really ate one meal a day - dinner yesterday and lunch today. So hoping I haven't scuppered things when I weigh in tomorrow.

Sounds like others are doing well. Much healthier choices than me!

Hi both - Nantucket your food sounds delicious - I love falafel and quorn nuggets or sausages - haven't tried scotch eggs before. Well I only started this " journey" formally on Saturday so I'm making Saturday my weigh day. When I lost weight before I used to weigh daily which I found motivating - never done weekly before. So every day this week as I do gym/healthy eating I'm thinking "I wonder how much if any I've lost..." And then I tell myself "don't put pressure on..." For now I'm not calorie counting as I'm lazy on details so the proof will be in the pudding on Saturday. whether my strategy pays off.
Sassy it sounds like you enjoyed your trip without going mad. I'm meeting a friend for dinner tmrw night - Thai - love that food so much and we always get 2 courses - so I hope I will navigate that ok - make fair choices without being a bore or party pooper - I don't feel that I want to discuss food choices/dieting with the friend just yet. Then I've got a big family celebration on Saturday lunch. So, again, I can eat healthily when I'm "in charge" at home, but I am apprehensive about the social eating occasions. Which is daft. Hey ho, let's see how the week pans out. Smile

I'll join you I have 4 stone to lose after already losing it for my wedding in 2012, in totally raging with myself
For putting it back on, I can't even blame having a baby as it's my own fault for overeating and not exercising enough! This is definitely the last time for me too I'm with you!

I have been rubbish all week Blushthink i have single handed eaten all the crap in the house!!! Shopping day today and I have planned breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next week. I always do so much better if I have planned. Today is a new day and the day to make a new start. Will also be weighing in Saturday although have a feeling will be up rather than down! Just having a hot lemon water (which I love and feel so good when I start every day with one) Having raisin wheats for breakfast, a home made chicken and rice noodle soup for lunch and a pesto chicken salad this evening. Here's to a good day everyone

Morning vsoffen (is there a German connection to your username?!)
Sounds like you're back in the zone - your recipes sound really yummy -
Just got up and I'm so wrecked by yet another interrupted night from my bloomin dd (4). Hoping that after coffee etc I will feel up to gym. (I'm fortunate to work evenings and be free during the day, so trying to make most of it).
Always feel happier when I get to Thursday though as most of the week's chasing around with dds' activities is fine now

I don't own a scale anymore as I would weigh every time I went upstairs! So I just go down boots usually every Monday morning, I've kept all my print outs. I'm going to start swimming next week when the children go back to school. I'm hoping it may help tone my arms.
What's on the menu for everyone today?

Hi everyone and welcome Marie
My plan is mainly eat less/well and move more. I am weighing on Saturday and this is my first week so early days for me! I am logging food here to help me keep track and trying to go to gym 3/4 times per week for general feeling of well being and fitness. I'm not cutting any food group but aiming to keep portions sensible and also minimal white carbs and sugar.
Today I went to gym and over the day I had:
Coffee with milk, honey on 4 oatcakes
Baked beans on brown toast (1 slice) with butter
Tea with milk
At restaurant: Chilli con carne, sweet potato fries, coleslaw
Coffee with milk

I'm really watching my calories with MFP my username is ClaireoHare28 if anyone wants to add me! I stated Davina's 5 week fit DVD on Monday, walked 6 miles on Tuesday and did a zumba class last night, I haven't had any junk at all just really clean healthy eating, I have bought Jacobs water crackers which are 24 calories each and if I need a bit of sweet I put a small bit of no added sugar peanut butter In between 2 of them sort of feels like having a biscuit!

Also I haven't completely cut out carbs but I'm having very little and having good ones when I do I would say that's helped loads!

Wow, Claire, good going!

I lost 4lbs this week. But I'm at the start of a diet, where a lot of that is loss of the stuff that was in my system already! Next week will be my real test.

I'm finding the SHealth app is a real help. I'm doing a couch to 5k programme and watching my calories very strictly. I make a juice and have half a grapefruit for breakfast, a roll, fruit and half a Nature's Valley bar for lunch, and a dinner of something like veggie stew that has about 400 calories. Total for each day has been around 1000-1200 calories.

Shovetheholly that's amazing! I'm the same I think most of my loss so far has been water so it will definitely slow down! I'm using MFP to track my calories too and making sure I am well under them! I'm ClaireoHare28 if anyone wants to add me!

I need to get on top of MFP! I am rubbish with my phone!

I have form for starting enthusiastically and then giving up. Have to keep telling myself it's a marathon not a sprint. I do feel more committed this time than I have in a while, though, so not wavering yet!!

Ate a reasonable amount today including cake and pizza for tea (but only 2 slices...). But we had walked 8k across boggy, peaty fields in all weathers including hailstones so it still came in well under calories according to mfp. Two weeks in tomorrow, hoping for a loss at last!

Claire - great resistance!
Sassy - I am so envious of your boggy walk! I love that kind of thing but my family is not into it - and just need to wait for the 4 year old to grow and get better stamina!
Have a marvellous Sunday Smile

Beyond badBlushhave not stuck to anything resembling healthy eating (unless someone wants to tell me it's ok to down vats of wine, crisps biscuits, dc discarded Easter egg?) didn't bother to stand on scale (didn't want to cry) yesterday. Back to work tomorrow and much easier not to continually stuff myself and my exercise classes also start back up. I'm promising myself next week will be better Halo well done to all of you who have kept on track
