I have 10 stone to lose overall. There, I said it. No going back now. I miss riding my horse, I miss being happy and I have a toddler that doesn't want a sweaty elephant for a mum.
Anyone want to join me for some moral support?

Hi all! Can I join you?

Ideally I have 6 stone to lose. Going to a wedding in March so would love to be at least a stone lighter by then.

I'm doing the dryathlon for January so that should help kick start me a bit and DH has bought a treadmill so I've downloaded couch to 5k. Think I'm just going to use MFP again, it seems to work for me - I need to keep track of my mindless eating!

I'm in! 4 stone to get rid of. Starting Jan 5th as the 4th is dd birthday and we're going out to eat. But the morning of the 5th I'm on it!

But whatever you want to do, if you want to follow a particular diet then go for it, im just going to cut out crap food and exercise more. 4th of Jan is when most of us are doing our starting weigh in.

I'm in. Have around 4 stone to lose. Lost it all in 2008/9 but then took my eye off the ball and put all of it back on and its gone back on in places where it is much more noticeable. I know have a massive wobbly belly and no waist and at 5ft 3", this makes me look like a Weeble.

Went to SW last time and have tried again several times since then but I don't really like the woman who runs that local group. Another has opened since then, so I might try a different group instead. Planning on a dry January which hopefully should give me a bit of a kickstart.

Can I be added to the spreadsheet too? Think I will start on the 4th.

ark that's my plan too. I have an air walker thingymabob and a Wii, and a kinect on Xbox, so each day I'm going to alternate between a console and the air walker. And I'm going to track my food in mfp. Sugar is my downfall, even in cups of tea so I need to rein that in. I drink more brews when I'm dieting as I cut out fizzy, so the sugar all adds up! I'm planning on drinking flavoured water this time. Still contains sugar, but not as much as fizzy and I'm not addicted to it like I am cups of tea!

Can I join in please? I'm 40 y/o, would like to have a second child before it's too late, but would like to lose about 6.5 stone before looking into other reasons why ttc #2 hasn't been successful. I feel like I'm racing the clock and need to get serious for health reasons, fertility reasons, and being-the-mum-I-want-to-be for my 5 y/o reasons.

I was about 18.5 stone last summer, started to make an effort on MFP / cross trainer at home, and lost 16lb as of the start of December. In December alone, I've put back on 5lb, mostly over Christmas. So I am really looking to get the momentum going back in the right direction, think positively (11lb down from the summer, not 5lb up from last month!), and give and receive some support over the next year or so.

Wishing you all luck and willpower. One thing I found really motivational when I started MFP in the summer was reading threads like this one about non-scale victories (NSVs).

Oooohhh me too please. Only in the last few weeks I've finally admitted to myself just how bad it's got - worst are the photos from Christmas. Bizarrely it's a snap of my arm and hand that's tipped me over the edge.. loads of arm fat over a too tight watch strap. Ugghh.

4 stone off is the plan Smile

Ark, lol that you kindly took the trouble to advise cutting the crap and moving my butt abit, regarding 'what do we do on 4 Jan' but what I meant was, what is this 'logging in' or weighing in, that people speak of?

Do we just weigh ourselves then post the results (gulp) in this thread?

I would love to join you all. Scarily, according to the nhs choices website, I need to loose half my body weight. Crap!! A support group would be great.

Well.. Brought myself the new scales.. ShockShock way more than what I thought. Then ds2 stood on them.. I need to lose more than what he weighs.

Although I'm not starting properly till Monday I have been better behaved.. Ds1 and his friends had pizza for lunch while I had a slimming world ready meal.

And the selfie / photo each week! Genius. Will email them to myself so I can keep an eye on the loss that way. fab idea

I'm in too! I've got 7 stone to lose. Confused I'm going to follow the Paleo diet. Cutting out all wheat products. I've never successfully lost weight. 2016 will be my year.

What about a Facebook group where we can share pics, selfies etc?

Me too. 4 stone to lose. I joined a gym at the beginning of December and haven't lost anything yet because of Christmas, but have got back into it this week. I'm planning on more exercise, no (very little) butter and bread and cheese.
