I only weigh once a week too as I find the daily changes really odd and not a very accurate reflection on overall weight loss - not for me anyway. Most dieting regimes etc. do recommend just the once a week wiegh in - same time, same place, same scales, same clothes (or naked).

However just had my weekly weigh in and stayed the same this week - hardly suprising aswe had a big weekend of eating and drinking and socialising. I can diet no problem during the week, but weekends are my killer. Out at a dinner party again this Saturday too!

Sonnet · 20/05/2004 09:26

Janz - thats fantastic - 3lbs in 3 days!!
great motivation weighing every day - i wonder why "they" ie every diet you ever read only suggests weighing yourself once a week???
Good luck for today - stay focused and help me avoid those wonderful smells coming form our office canteen situated 200 m away!!

Sonnet · 20/05/2004 09:35

Hulababy - will email you for sheets if I may then!.
It's odd this daily fluctuation in weight. I know that pre DD2 I use to vary between 7st 12 and 8st 4 - am also convinced it was to do with "time of the month" - not just before duw on but a least a week to 10 days before I was always nearer to 8st 4.
Funnily enough when I am at home I don;t have aproblem with dieting it is at work it is a problem - slightly board and being surrounded by food!.
Roll on tomorrow whan i am at home - I don't have time to think about food....

Hulababy · 20/05/2004 09:39

I think they recommend the once a week as weight does fluctuate so much daily (and even throughout the day). My weight can change by 2 or 3 pounds daily and can simply be down to if I have drank more water, just been for a wee, had a shower (honest - it does make a difference), etc.

JanZ · 20/05/2004 09:48

Sonnet - it;s not 3lb in 3 days - it's 1lb in 3 days or 2lb in one day, depending on how you look at it. At the beiginning of the week, I was 11st 1lb - and yesterday I was 11st 2lb - despite "being good". It just goes to show the fluctuations that Hulababy is talking about.

But anyway, it IS porgress! It would be nice if I could get consistently under 11st by the weigh in next week! Good for the motivation

Sonnet · 20/05/2004 10:06

Woops - never was very good at Maths - but still great for motivation....

Sonnet · 20/05/2004 10:53

Sonnet · 20/05/2004 11:01

Planning Family meals for weekend and next week at the moment and need some advice on homemade pizza.
What do you think re diet:
Dough made in bread machine - flour, salt, olive oil, yeast.
Topping: fresh toms, small amount of cheese, fresh herbs, assorted veg.
I woild only have a small Slice and a huge salad?
Could use low fat cheese??

JanZ · 20/05/2004 11:04

Starving too. Just had another 2 of my cherries - ot add to the 2 that I had an hour ago. Only 8 left!

Should really be concentrating on reading through a draft contract for a deal I've got to close in the nextweek, before I can send it to the customer for his comments. That should keep my mind off food!

Sonnet · 20/05/2004 11:49

whre's coddy when you need her advice.
Keep "picking" at the cherries janz!!

DP packed me a packed lunch today - i havent looked yet what is in it but its very likely it isnt very diet friendly

do i

a) eat it because it was nice of him to do or
b) waste it and buy something healthy

mothernature · 20/05/2004 12:27

look and tell

Beccarollover · 20/05/2004 12:41

juniper68 · 20/05/2004 13:39

Well done beccarollover

Sonnet · 20/05/2004 14:00

Well done BR and SW...
I've had half a baked potato ( it was 'uge!)and salad and have half a grapefruit and a 35g bag of snack a jacks left to consume.

Went "dress shopping" for my "DO" in 5 weeks time with a couple of girls from work. We were all looking for dresses. IT HAS STRENGTHENED MY RESOLVE - bottom looked huge..........will not be seen at the aforementioned "do" with a BIG BOTTY!!!. I kept that thought in my head just now while queueing up to pay for lunch surrounded by bars and bars of CHOCOLATE!!!

Sonnet · 20/05/2004 14:01

What a great DH you've got BR...
