Sonnet, I was really surprised how quickly I noticed a difference. It is definately better than any expensive creams you can buy (I'd tried loads). It's quite hard going at first trying to drink so much but after a while you find you actually want it. I think it'll be easier now as the weathers warmer. Hope it works for you too

Sonnet · 19/05/2004 14:17

how naughty are snack-a-jacks caramel flavour. Pack is 35g and I eat half a pack during the afternoon as a sugar hit!
A 35g pack has 140kcal and 0.3g of fat!

bundle · 19/05/2004 14:18

I'd prefer half as much butter than a wodge of low-fat spread and I think I feel the same about ww wine!

lemonice · 19/05/2004 14:18

I don't know whether i have one egg or two at breakfast but have bought some pears in fruit juice to have with oats is OK ie better than my scarambled egg/s?

I have just started diet and i am 12st 13 and 5ft 4

magnum · 19/05/2004 14:18

Hulababy, my big downfall is wine. I reallly don't think I could give it up. I think the WW one was about 80 cals a glass but not sure what size of glass that was for (my favourite wine glass takes 1/2 a bottle)

Sonnet · 19/05/2004 14:19

Magnum,
On my 3rd pint today.
When I'm at work (Tue, wed, thur) I can easily drink 6 pints a day but when I'm at home I don't drink any!!! so i've never seen a result.
My skin is very dry and has a greyish tinge - sounds great dosn't t!!, oh and snowy white - loely!!

gingerbear · 19/05/2004 14:21

if o.3g fat is saturated, then 35g pack = 2 points

gingerbear · 19/05/2004 14:22

sonnet, I hope that is water and not wine

magnum · 19/05/2004 14:24

I found water not only reduced my wrinkles but gives your skin a glow. Mine looked dry and dull. I really do feel when I look in the mirror now that I look younger and my make up seems to go on better. The only down side is running to the loo every half an hour. Okay when you're at home but a pain when out. Good excerise though

coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 14:24

Magnum
re. wine its only a week and Ithnk if we are all finding it so hard ot give it up for a week we ( and I know the feeling) need to examine " our relationship with wine " a little!

Hulababy and Magnum - My downfall is also wine. My youngest child is 3 and I weigh more now than I did 3 weeks after she was born. I have a wadrobe of summer clothes taht I can't get into that I wore the summer after her birth AND it is all down to WINE. The summer after her birth DH and I discovered France - say no more!
i weighed myself on Easter Monday and I was flabbergasted...that was the kick I needed and for the following 2 weeks I was very good and lost 6lbs and suprise suprise I didn't miss the wine - I don't know why as when I've tried to cut it out before it hasn't worked.
I have since been ill and put back on 4 lbs of that 6!!
if you give up wine and do nothing else you will loose 1lb a week - so if you then add a bit of exercise into the equation and sensible eating like Coddys plan you will be on at least 3lbs a week!! - you can do it girl!! - WE ALL CAN!!

Heathcliffscathy · 19/05/2004 14:27

cod: help me stop eating tescos salt and vinegar rice cakes!!! they are 1/2 point each and i'm now on my fourth...this could get nasty!

coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 14:28

OP posts:
Sonnet · 19/05/2004 14:28

Also, if you don't drink in the evening you don't get the munchies....
The key is to make yourself busy at the weak "lets have a glassof wine" moment.
I have started running again - not very far - but tend to go at about 6.30 to 7pm whcih happens to be my weak moment. I feel so good when I come back that I don't want wine!!

coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 14:28

I will really try and kick the wine. I stay in most nights and get so bored. I suppose it can develop into a problem but I do just stick to 2 glasses. (don't see earlier post about size of wine glass I have tried dieting and can't lose any weight at all. Could this be because of the wine?

Heathcliffscathy · 19/05/2004 14:32

ds is asleep ...have big bottle of water and am swigging it, but kitchen is right next to me...

Sonnet · 19/05/2004 14:33

Def because of the wine Magnum - I am there too. " large wine glasses is over half a bottle a night - a whole bottle if you use those glasses mentioned earlier
my weight crept on over 2 and a half years at a rate of less than 1lb a month so I didn't notice it Until one day!!

gingerbear · 19/05/2004 14:35

sophable, get in the garden and pull up some weeds, mow the lawn or plant out those bedding plants - you can't eat with mucky hands.
