malinki · 27/05/2004 13:38

Well attended my 1st meeting at WW, I'm 5'8 and weighed in (oh my god I can't believe I'm saying this), 16 stone 3lbs (ouch that hurt)

katierocket · 27/05/2004 13:55

nothing wrong Cod, what I was saying is that I didn't realy start the diet until monday so I weighed myself then and will do it again next mon to see weight loss.

champs · 27/05/2004 14:10

please no heaped coals on my head-- why are you weighing yourselves daily? this is how obsesions with weight start or are fanned. sticking to once a week is best. weight flutulates so much... even in a day.

also, the calorie intake seems ever so low, esp. as you are mothers with young kiddies.

katierocket · 27/05/2004 14:11

agree totally re; daily weighing champs - pointless IMO

Welshmum · 27/05/2004 14:32

WM signing in properly, post buffet lunch which was almost a disaster (3 bits of chicken, 3 bits of salmon and.........2 biscuits)
Bought a digital scales.
Was 10.8 on Monday, now 10.6
I like to weigh myself every morning - it encourages me to be good. Although looking at all the awful stats about obesity in the papers I'm not finding it too hard currently.

champs · 27/05/2004 14:47

i used to weigh myself daily, then twice a day... then more I had bulimia and was a wreck. which is why i know it can lead to obsesions.

CODalmighty · 27/05/2004 16:51

I dont htink daily weighing has to lead to bulimia - i am sure the root causes of that are much more profound.

Beccarollover · 27/05/2004 17:00

I weigh myself most days and out of interst sometimes before and after poo's!..............

..............up to 3lbs difference sometimes would you believe haha

champs · 27/05/2004 18:35

didn't say it lead to bulimia, nor that it was the root cause. i said obssesion.

also know it's not healthy that is why I commented.

bundle · 27/05/2004 18:38

agree with champs, a more realistic interval is probably a week. however, my digital scales are my new toy so have been weighing myself a lot, what a hypocrite

Beccarollover · 27/05/2004 18:44

agree that you can get obsessive about it and its highly inaccurate as body weight fluctuates so much , but i think its fine if you dont find it demotivates you or leads you to getting too obsessed

katierocket · 27/05/2004 19:20

isn't it mad how much of a difference a stone makes though. I want rid of it NOW!!

CODalmighty · 27/05/2004 19:21

as long as you realise that standing on one leg makes a huge difference I dont think it waill drive you mad!

roisin · 27/05/2004 19:34

Oh wise ones ... How important do you think it is to have a regular amount of food each day? I'm counting points with WW, and mostly I find I'm just not hungry - I have small healthy meals, and make sure I'm getting plenty of fruit/veg and calcium a day. At the end of the day I tot up the points, and sometimes I'm getting about my WW target, sometimes quite a lot less. Is it better to aim for a standard amount, and stick to that? I vaguely recall someone saying something about it on here ... possibly Hulababy?

I'm a complete novice at this diet business, so I've no idea what's important and what's not.

CODalmighty · 27/05/2004 22:10

yes rosin - let me agree with you again! you od need to eat your max allowance if poss or your body goes itno starvation mode and you dont lose

roisin · 27/05/2004 22:26

Thanks Cod!

Demented · 27/05/2004 22:51

BR, I do that! I get really annoyed if it's the official weight-in day and I haven't been before I get on the scales!

Roisin, I think you can save up to 4 points a day, a total of 12 points a week for a blow-out at the weekend.

JanZ · 28/05/2004 09:09

Two days of team meeting later...

10 stone 12 this morning - total loss of 4lb over just over a week. I'll do a regular Friday report - I have been fluctuating these last couple of days, which could have been demotivating if I hadn't known I'd been working hard in the circumstances!

Tried to pick the "best" options out of the two working lunch spreads, and on Wednesday at our team dinner out (boss paying, everyone drinking!) drank slimline tonic and water all evening! And did my best not to pig out TOO much on the (excellent!) curry!

And last night at a Girls Night out, I only had a TINY piece of carrot cake and NONE of the rest of the spread of pancakes, chocolate biscuits, crisps..... Did have a glass of bubbly though to celebrate the close of the investment club side of our Girls' Nights and its re-birth as more of a Social club.

So given the circumstances, I think I've done pretty well to stay static!

Tonight it's friends around for dinner and then tomorrow I should be back on course.

PS My presentation to my new boss went well, so that's one weight off my shoulders!

Momof2 · 28/05/2004 10:41

This am (ignoring the rest of the comments so far - sorry)I have lost another lb - so 10st 11 - thats 3 in total.
Haven't had any alcohol since last Friday's binge! What a good girl I am

dh got new job, went for a meal to celebrate. Had salad but it was the kind with lots of dressing and bacon and bad things had beer as well. Got home and raided my sons bag of haribo before bed. Oh dear, there is no hope. Don't want to get on the scales today
