Tame WW leader is not working, she is obsessing over her class attendence figures which is not helping my figure at all Please can I have a kick up the backside. I've lost 18.5lbs so far and really must get back on track. I have 5.5 points left for today and the evening is my worst time.

Sonnet · 25/05/2004 13:36

Just got back after 40 lengths in th swimming pool.
Got some 98% fat free crackers (Rakusens)

Kittyp - the only advice I can give is to :
a)keep "busy" inthe evening
b)drink lots of water. Hot water and lemon is great if you want soemthing "comforting".

I am also taking "each day at a time" and focusing on how well I can do for this particular day - it stops me thinking of the great big hurdle in fornt of me.
Must go and eat now
Coddy - how many crackers can I have?
Also got rasperies and pineapple for pudd!
Oh, I've lost 7lbs since Easter (although have lost, put back on, lost).

Sonnet · 25/05/2004 13:41

Sonnet · 25/05/2004 14:25

Hve just refused Cake!!

Kittypickle · 25/05/2004 14:37

I am just being pathetic and need to get on with it, I'm not enjoying DS's (8m)clingy whiney stage much but that will soon pass I guess. I have lost roughly a pound a week, so if I stop whinging and get on with it, by the end of the year I will have made a huge difference.I will start planning my meals better and try to go swimming one evening if DH gets home earlier. Well done on passing up cake Sonnet, I am impressed !

JanZ · 25/05/2004 14:38

... have just said yes to some Maltesers! Only took 2 though!

Apart from that, am snacking on (expensive) cherries from M&S.

bundle · 25/05/2004 14:38

bought apple on way back from shops, feeling smug.

Coddylicious · 25/05/2004 14:53

5.5 points per 100g

Welshmum · 25/05/2004 15:15

Is it too late to join in?
I would love to get down to 10 stone or just under. Have lost a stone and a half in a year and have the last 8 pounds to go. Fell off the wagon for a little bit but now the summery weather has made me keen to complete my mission.

suzywong · 25/05/2004 15:16

I've just been diagnosed with an under active thyroid
Does this mean I can stuff my face until I get on medication?

Sonnet · 25/05/2004 15:18

KP: Are yiu at work or at home?
If at home, how about putting DS in pram and walking, walking, walking every day. That will boost your pound loss
If at work, do you have a lunch braek? - get out there and walk walk walk - you will soon notice the difference - honest

Coddy,Bundle, janz and anyone else - I need some advice please? - I have a very "squishy" tummy - never had this before even after DD1 - How do I get rid or minimise it??? do situps really make a difference?

Sonnet · 25/05/2004 15:23

Glad I didn't eat the whole pack then! - had about half a pack!
SW _ how did you find out about your thyroid - will a side effect of the medication be weight loss?
Please do join in Welshmum - Did yo follow any particulare diet?, did you execise? - see my ? on jelly tummies below!!

Welshmum · 25/05/2004 15:30

Thanks for the welcome Sonnet. The initial diet was pretty hard going but very effective. As few carbs as possible.
Breakfast: A banana
Mid morning: some crackers
Lunch: fish with rice cakes and a yogurt
Afternoon: wine gums
Supper: Salad with chicken or fish.Fruit
No alcohol, extra fruit whenever, herbal teas.
I did have days which were different for various reasons but that was basically it.

katierocket · 25/05/2004 15:35

still doing ok (only been 2 days you'd think I'd been doing it 2 weeks!)
cereal
chicken salad for lunch
grapes

salmon for tea I think with stir fried veg.

am 10 6
want to be 9 6

JanZ · 25/05/2004 15:37

Sonnet - Pilates.

But go and get proper lessons from a qualified instructor - there are a lot a charlatans out there who claim to teach Pilates after a half day course.

I go to a Body Control Pilates instructor who is excellent. (She is actually one of the few instructors that is qualified to supervise trainees, so we often get students taking bits of the class). The link will let you know where there is an instructor in your area.

My stomach muscles are good - I just need to work on the layer of fat on top of them!

Sonnet · 25/05/2004 15:45

ooo KR - we've both got a stone to loose!!

Sonnet · 25/05/2004 15:51

Thanks Janz - have already sent emails to the two teachers who are in my area - how keen am I!!
How often do you do it?

Piffleoffagus · 25/05/2004 16:05

just weighed, am halfway there with 7lbs loss in 3 weeks. Am under ten stone for first time in 3 years! Hooray, back into sz 12 from edging up to 14.
Very pleased, is Dh's birthday this week, can happily have one lovely night of fine food abandon.
Am getting addicted to rice cakes though LOL
And sick of sodding salad...

Coddylicious · 25/05/2004 16:13

I go to a class a week and she tells us we should do it at home 3 to 4 times a week, which of course I do religiously (not!).

However, at the moment I AM doing a load of pelvic floor exercises, (finally dealing with damage from ds' birth, 3.9 years ago)which using Pialtes techniques, are also a form of stomach exercise. (Actually, the Pilates had "helped" me so much that it had masked that I actually had a problem, as I had none of the usual symptoms. Let's just say 2 of pelvic floor muscles and my stomach muscles are excellent, the other 4 pelvic floor muscles don't exist)

Sonnet · 25/05/2004 16:28

Have joined Beetys sit-up thread.
alos remembered I've got a pilates syle exercise vid by Carole Smiley for post birth....maybe should dig that out - it was good at the time!

Sonnet · 25/05/2004 16:29

Coddy - think of that bikini....mine isn't "big" or overhanging - it just reminds me of a jelly!
