I'll get back to work. .... slinks off....

unicorn · 24/05/2004 12:46

planning to go to aerobics tonight

and didn't have a drink all weekend...which is quite some feat I tell you!
Think my scales are kaput

katierocket · 24/05/2004 13:47

yes, managed to say no to some very lovely looking pastries that my mum brought over. very difficult!

Coddylicious · 24/05/2004 13:48

bet you feel virtuous

katierocket · 24/05/2004 13:58

mmm but hungry.
am just having a few grapes.
just chanting my new mantra a few times:
"nothing tastes as good as slim feels"

katierocket · 24/05/2004 14:59

help! am about to falter, what can I eat that is not too calorific?

JanZ · 24/05/2004 15:06

... raisins? carrots? cherry tomatoes? olives? a COUPLE of brazil nuts/walnuts/almonds?

No idea about their calory value, but they are all good for you!

katierocket · 24/05/2004 15:08

have opted for bowel of (low fat) cereal

katierocket · 24/05/2004 15:14

OMG that's bowl not bowel obviously

yuck

suzywong · 24/05/2004 15:21

Low fat cereal, does that mean if I wolf down some crunchy nut cornflakes instead of a lump of cheese it would be OK til dinner time?

This thread is really very very helpful

Piffleoffagus · 24/05/2004 16:12

olives in brine and low fat feta or even ord feta boost up the most ordinary salad...
And importantly help with the cheese issue.
I am opting for slim fast once a day, and weight loss has firmed up and not been so up and down now...

feezy · 24/05/2004 17:03

I just can't do it. I'm sooooo hungry all the time.I've just had mini feast and I really know Ishouldn't. Having salmon carrots and green beans for tea. Can I have sweet potatoes?? This morning I weighed 10st 5lb.

JanZ · 25/05/2004 08:54

10 stone 12 this morning!

Was good at supper last night - refused the chips that dh and ds wanted and just had a large salad with my cold roast chicken. Also just had a glass of diluting juice while dh had wine (although did have a taste of it! )

Had an attack of the munchies though later on - but managed to stave it off with raisins, cherry tomatoes and a WEE bit of cheese.

My only "treat" was a bed time (lidl) Jaffa cake.

My passport runs out on 11 July. If I keep going as well as this, I might be prepared to have a photo taken by mid June, when hopefully I wil be about 10 and a half stone.

Back to my pile of work. Got a presentation to prepare for my new boss tomorrow!

Beccarollover · 25/05/2004 08:59

Managed to stay the same at weigh in last night after a rather disasterous week - having a really good week this week Im very determined!

feezy · 25/05/2004 10:18

10stone 5 but feeling more positive. Have been on exercise bike and am walking faster when out with dog instead of strolling along . Just eaten my branflakes and I am going to be beter toda. If I could get under 10 stone I would be estatic

Momof2 · 25/05/2004 10:34

JanZ - congrats - thats fantastic.
I am too scared to wiegh myself (shall I?) after my virtual bragging on Friday I had a really bad weekend of fast food and alcohol (serves me right!) Am sure I have piled it all back on, but trying again from today.
Feezy - we WILL get under 10 stone am absolutely determined to not have a summer like last year when nothing fit and everyone else looked like slim size 8 models!

Sonnet · 25/05/2004 11:27

Just signing in - been v.busy but now I'm back at work I have time for mumsnet

CONFESSION: I DID have a galss of wine on Friday night after all my bragging. My Nibbles consisted of 2 celery sticks and hummus.

Weighed my self yesterday amd am down to 9st 4. (was 9st 11 six weeks ago, lost 6 ils and then put 4 back on so 9st 4 is a RESULT).

Still contiuning to eat heathily - and no alcohol.
Only other sin was 6 maltesers yesterday!

Thnaks fr the tip coddy, yes, if I do have a "light" lunch I snack at 4pm!! or starve and get very lightheaded..

Have been running too.

My goal weight is 8st 4 which was the "top end" of my pre-preg weight. I owuld like to be that by 7th August for holiday.
I did want to be 8st 7 for 24th June ( 4 weeks and 2 days away) - don'' think I'll loose 11lbs in 4 weeks SO I'm aiming to loose as "much as I can" by the 24th June and the remainder by 7th August!
Janz you are doing very well - do start running again, I have and whilist it is very hard I think it helps a lot.
KR - good to see you've joined us again - keep it up! you will feel so much better - honest.
A question: snacking: are plain rice cakes OK? - rasins just don't fill me up!!
Going swimming at 12, followed by slald and hard boiled egg for lunch. Had SpecialK and bananna for b'fast and cherries to nibble on this am!

Coddylicious · 25/05/2004 11:43

so janz you have lost 4 lbs sinc ehte other day? wow

Coddylicious · 25/05/2004 11:45

sonnet well done re drinks party - very good
yes what will you have for lunch then now?

try the crackers and philly - takes ages to fiddle around with and I bung some veg/salad/cress on top and some chutyney

mo2 weigh yourself tomorrow omrning

Sonnet · 25/05/2004 11:56

Coddy - was going to have hard boiled egg and salad from the salad bar at work BUT have to go to tesco after swimming so could get crackers and philly.
I presume low fat philly
WHAT CRACKERS??? = ryvitas?, or other low fat????

JanZ · 25/05/2004 11:57

Coddy - I don't expect it to last! But if I can average 2lb a week after the first week, I'll be happy. Plus I'll know that that is a healthier (and in the long run more sustainable) way to lose weight.

I've got a tough couple fo days coming up diet wise - tomorrow night is a Team night out, plus dinner with our new boss and on Friday we've got friends coming over for dinner.

I'll try not to drink too much tomorrow night - but you know what colleagues (especially in Sales) can be like when you insist you DON'T want a drink!....)

On Friday, because I'm working, we'll probably just have my special recipe lasagne that's in the freezer - which doesn't use a cheese sauce and instead uses a mix of cottage cheese, parmesan and mozarella, so it's maybe not SO bad! And I'll try and think of "healthy" starters and dessert. But what I WON'T be holding back on is the good wines that dh wil be getting out the cellar!

But I'll revert to teetotal on Saturday, promise!

Coddylicious · 25/05/2004 12:04

sonnet our waitrose does really nice seedy ones form the Us called " no no" and the whole box is only 5 points...
theres always the antibiotics excuse or antihistamine

Sonnet · 25/05/2004 12:06

Well done Janz - I'm too aiming for 2lbs a week - very sustainable and enough to feel you're making progress.
How much in total do you have to loos as of todays weight?
I've got a stone minimum.
Off to swim 4o lengths now!!

Coddylicious · 25/05/2004 12:08

from now on when you post weight you have to post total lost as I cant keep scrolling down

JanZ · 25/05/2004 12:12

First objective 10 stone. Ultimate objective - 9 or 9 and 1/2 stone - I'll see how I feel/look when I get there!

I'm off to walk up into town (briskly of course) to get some bananas and cherries and another seeded loaf, before coming back and having my lunch.
