Has anyone tried the Freedom diet??

I'm seriously thinking about giving it a go - a couple of people from work have lost loads of weight over 6 weeks and say it wasn't too hard (their lunches looked really good and not too 'diet-ey'). I've tried loads of different things and never manage to stick to them but this sounds quite sensible and doable.

Anyone else tried it..?

Well done all you total losers 😀 is this plan compatible with occasional meals out? I don't want to lose my social life to a meal plan.....

Yes Sheba I've managed to pick carefully from a menu and follow the principles of the plan.

Hi, another newbie here! I received my plan yesterday and am really impressed and pleased with it. Going to get shopping etc sorted over the weekend and start on Monday. I've been really inspired by all your great losses, really hoping I'll have as much success. A stone in 6 weeks would be amazing!!

Hi Shirley I find getting organised at the weekend makes things go smoothly in the week. I plan my meals for the week and often cook at least a couple of evening meals so they're ready to just heat up when I'm in a rush.

Thanks Bopper. I don't work Mondays so I've just made a shepherd's pie and a chicken curry for the next few nights.

I've got a night out (including meal!) on Saturday, which is a bit of a bummer in my first week, but I emailed the diet coach today and sent a few examples from the menu where we'll be eating and she's recommended which option would be best to stay more or less on plan, as well as giving me some general advice and tips, so I'm feeling really positive that I can still enjoy my meal night without feeling like I've blown it. I've also decided to drive, so that will definitely make things easier.

That's good Shirley, I've struggled a bit with the no drinking rule, but seem to have gotten away with a Saturday night glass most weeks Wine. Good that you've got a plan of action for your meal out.

I'm going to try my hardest to stick to no alcohol for the first 6 weeks, but good to know the odd sneaky glass shouldn't cause problems. I had the berry smoothie this morning - oh my goodness, totally delicious! Think I'll be having that regularly from now on!

Ok, so I'm 3 weeks into my plan and I've lost 7lbs. I'm pleased with that, even though it doesn't seem as fast as some others on here - I suppose the main thing for me is that I'm sticking to something at last and that the weight is coming off.

I usually really struggle to stick with diets during the school hols, as our routine is all over the place, but I emailed for some extra picnic ideas and so have actually been more adventurous with our lunches and as a result enjoying the food more than I usually would when I'd just be taking boring old sandwiches and packets of crisps with us. I'm also really enjoying lots more lovely fruit than usual.

Hi Shirley, half a stone is 3 weeks is really good, well done!

I've been a bit off plan as we've been away on holiday, but I didn't go mad and tried to stick to the basic principles but with the odd cocktail and ice cream thrown in too. Before we went I'd lost another 5lbs, so 1st5 in total, but then I gained 2lbs back whilst away. Still pretty pleased with that though, and I'm totally back on it from today.

Does anyone else have success stories for this diet? There are only 3 on the website and a handful of people on here. Also have those who lost weight managed to maintain. Many thanks

I can't comment on maintaining yet, as I'm still working towards my goal weight, but I intend to carry on using my plan just with some extra weekend treats thrown in. It's not anything unsustainable, so I can see myself following the basic principles quite easily long-term. Sorry I can't be more useful, I'm relatively new to it myself...

Hi all, my first post on here :-)

I thought i'd join up after a google search brought me to this thread. I liked the sound of the freedom diet and the posts on here are very positive. However, I sent the freedom diet coach an email via their website on Tuesday asking a few questions about the plans, but still haven't received a response. Very strange and possibly a sign of the quality of service? Maybe they took offence when I asked if they had any formal qualifications in the study of nutrition, but that seems like a fair question to me given the product they're selling and the limited info on their website. I'd advise caution.

Well done Shirley! I was totally on it last week and lost 3lbs, which spurred me on to another good week this week, won't weigh in until Monday though, but I'm hoping for another couple of lbs off.

Ok apologies to those who are posting but I can't help being a bit Hmm about this diet. I've tried loads and am not sure I understand what's so special about this one. I also didn't find the website very informative .

So, putting my scepticism to one side for a moment, question for those of you who have lost weight - and ideally maintained - on this plan. What's the secret? What did you find was different about this plan to any other diets you've tried. Why do you think this one worked?

I'm just about ready to try LC again but still exploring other options.

BopperBop · 06/09/2016 13:51

Hi Hive. The main difference for me really is that I've actually been able to stick to it - more or less any diet will work if you can stick to it, but in the past I've really struggled to stay on any sort of eating regime.

But it's not some kind of magic plan, it's just a sensible eating plan with the added bonus of personal support when needed. If you've been able to follow LC before on your own and are happy to plan your own meals etc, you'll quite probably be just as successful doing that as you would on this.

Hi Bop, how did the weigh in go? I've been following my plan and have lost a whole stone now! Hope you're still doing well with it x

Hi,

Yes I did my weigh in - just forgot to come back and post! I lost another 2.5lbs, making 1 stone 8.5lbs. I want to lose another 9lbs now, which seems completely achievable (amazingly!).

Well done on your stone - I was so pleased to get a full stone off, it's a real achievement, well done you!!

This looks really good and I'm seriously tempted to sign up - I'm wanting to remove processed sugar from my diet, and when I've emailed for extra info they said they could produce a sugar-free plan for me, but I'm just wondering if I should try to give up my sugar habit first, or just get stuck in with the plan??

I have got a holiday coming up in 3 weeks as well though, so maybe I should hang fire until I'm back from that, and see the plan as a post-holiday recovery plan Grin

Well done on your losses though, seriously impressive!

I'm still interested in this but am going to hang fire until after my hols, as well as researching any other sugar-free eating plans too. After a couple of weeks of trying it alone though, I think some sort of supported approach will be needed as I've been struggling Sad
