Morning!
I'm back on the detox diet today. Loopity are you going to do it again this week?

MrsFish · 11/12/2006 11:48

Hi everyone

I have been away for a few days, diet shot to hell, daren't get on the scales till at least this friday to make the damage seem as good as possible, have most definitely put on a couple of pound though. I think I may just wait till Jan 1st now to start again in ernest, will try not to go mad though and will still keep checking in on here to keep me on some sort of path

loopity · 11/12/2006 14:07

Hi everyone

Were you away somewhere nice Mrs Fish? Wouldn't worry too much about eating/drinking at the weekend, you have to enjoy yourself sometimes (You were very good on run up to weekend too, which might help!)

I think I'll do the detox diet again from tomorrow, lornaloo. Have come down with a head cold, hopefully feel a bit better then. Dh and I went out for an Indian meal last night - cals probably off the scale for chicken dansak, but avoided the pilau rice and got steamed basmati instead. But did have a poppadom and half a nan bread too. And two glasses of wine ... and an Irish coffee instead of pudding, delicious but eek!

So far today just some soup and slice of wheaten bread, cup of tea. Going to cook an easy dinner. Anyone got ideas for something healthy and tasty?

Costa, good luck with the in-laws

hello , have been off line for a few days with very poorly toddler with tonsillitis and good intentions gone to pot as too tired , too stressed and am having coffee with suger to keep awake through afternoon surgery, i will try to keep posting but will try for damage limitation for next few weeks and start with a vengence in january - is htis ok ( hangs head with despair/exhaustion and generall sheepiness) .

lornaloo · 11/12/2006 19:15

Hello everyone .
Sorry to hear your little ones poorly mummydoc. Think its hard to diet this time of year tbh. Theres fatty food everywhere you turn, mince pies, chocolates and all sorts of christmasy snacks. Not to mention the cold whether triggering off cravings for warming foods.

I haven't stuck to the detox diet today as I've had diet coke.
Brek- banana.
Lunch- chicken salad.
Dinner- avocado salad.
Snacks- 2 apples some grapes and a tiny little chocolate thing bout the size of a 20 pence piece. I also picked abit at ds dinner, it was mash and meatballs

MrsFish · 11/12/2006 19:38

Loopity - we went to stay with friends in Belfast.

Have a meal out on wednesday and out to friends this weekend, then its chrimbo. Will start diet afresh on Jan 1st

loopity · 11/12/2006 22:03

Where did you go out in Belfast, Mrs fish? Can't believe you were probably only a matter of miles from where I live
Are your friends from Northern Irish too

Mummydoc, hope the lo is better soon. Damage limitation sounds ok I'll still be posting on this thread in the New year if we can keep it going as I'll never be down to what I want to be by Christmas now, ah well!

Hi Loopity

My friends husband is in the RAF and so are on base at Aldergrove. They have been there for two years now and are hoping to be posted back to England in July, can't come soon enough for my friend

Marls001 · 12/12/2006 20:00

Hi Loopity & all - Christmas is so time-consuming! I love it though. Love to ski as well ... unfortunately not steep enough here. Used to go to Aspen with my family every winter - before it got so expensive! Now we go to Taos in New Mexico. One of the few places left where snowboarders aren't allowed. (They have their own resort within a few miles, where skiers aren't allowed.)

Weigh-in ... I lost 0.8 lb ... We have a machine at the gym that measures what's going on, exactly. So I know that compared to last time, I have gained 0.2 "fat free mass," and lost 1lb fat. Water percentage is always the same, somewhere around 67%. Normally I wouldn't pay any attention to a mere 0.8 lb, but using their scale I can safely rule out water loss.

Sigh; I do have an inner voice when it comes to exercise - it says "Go! Go! Go!" And sometimes, "Quit whining!" And sometimes, "You can do it!"
BUT - absolutely NO voice when it comes to eating. Told DH to either eat the rest of that darn toffee or I'll throw it out. He thinks I'm hilarious.

loopity · 13/12/2006 08:36

Morning everyone
Marls - good for you on the lb fat loss, your gym sounds great. I haven't been able to go this week at all yet - ds1 had stomach bug at weekend, I've got a cold and ds2 woke up this morning and was sick everywhere . So I'll be housebound again today with the wee one.
Thinking about getting back into the running in the New Year so that will hopefully ditch some lbs. Dh keen for us to do a 10k (which I would need to train up for as haven't run further than 5-6k yet).

How's everyone else getting on - think I'm going to go for the damage limitation goal too until after Xmas, then go for it in January as I've a family wedding on the 20th.

thanks for all the thoughts on dd , she had another terrible night but this morning was able to wallop me on hte head with her bottle to get me up - and has started talking again, but wont eat - even spat out a choc button . haven't been on scales but managed to avoid mince pies etc, as actually so tired now i feel sick ...does htat happen to anyone else, i also am being foul to dh and dd1 ...oh dear and dd1 finishes school today for a whole month ...oh dear again...might need medicinal wine tonight,

mummydoc · 13/12/2006 08:57

Mars where do you live ?? sking in aspen sounds great but cannot do long haul for 1 week this year, is it better ot leave the states for when LO's are older/better skiers ??

loopity · 13/12/2006 14:11

Definitely prescribe the wine for you tonight, mummydoc - at least one large glass and repeat dose as necessary! Hope the lo sleeps better for you tonight.

Know that "sick with tiredness" feeling - experiencing that today as well, ds2 woke up before 6am and then vomited all over dh when we brought him into our bed, great start to the day, eh?
Plus when I'll really tired I tend to eat less healthily - crave sugary or stodgy foods, not conducive to dieting at all.

OP posts:
mummydoc · 14/12/2006 09:33

well it is just getting worse - yesterday i ate 3 mincepies and a kebab, actually couldn't face the wine , but , LO better, dd1 charming as not having to go toschool, but still feel sicky - if i didn't know better i would say it was morning sickness, will try to be good today

loopity · 14/12/2006 09:34

Morning everyone
Can't motivate myself diet-wise this week at all. Feel icky still after head cold. Had a couple of glasses of wine last night with dinner and then demolished half a packet of breadsticks.
Is everyone else managing to be good? I need a lot of nagging please!

Can't decide whether to go to gym this morning but know I should force myself, will feel much better afterwards. Am going to go now for a sneaky weigh to give myself a

OP posts:
mummydoc · 14/12/2006 10:47

honestly I did, i couldn't believe it either, i don't remember it being ahuge wee either....

loopity · 14/12/2006 11:39

Too funny, mummydoc, decided to test the weewee theory - had a wee, took off my watch as well in case it was adding even teensiest extra weight......tentatively got on scales and...the lb had disappeared again

oh, and while we're on the subject, no gym for me today, ds2 now got the scoots
