As the first thread is full, I thought I'd start this one to dip a toe in the water and see if anyone else is still around. At the end of the last thread I think a few of us had decided to have the summer off and come back to it in September - so here I am.

Hope a few of the old gang are still around Smile

sorry for the late reply. Hope you didn't want it for dinner :)

Blodss · 03/11/2015 22:46

It tastes really bready. I also use this mixture as a coating for chicken goujons with dipping the mixture in egg first and then coating chicken but I add coconut flour too. I also use it as a stuffing mix.

pnutter · 04/11/2015 06:48

That's brilliant thanks

Blodss · 04/11/2015 10:33

Sorry it should have read dip your chicken in egg and then dip in cauliflower crumbs.
How is everyone doing today? I'm so near to pushing through to the next lower stone bracket.

pnutter · 04/11/2015 10:37

Thank you yes I must buy some chicken I seem to be eating a lot of tuna
I've lost a kilo and a bit since Sunday I'm happy with that ! Bloating has gone too.
I do have a headache ..wondering if that's related to the loss of sugar ?

Blodss · 04/11/2015 20:57

Most people get carb flu/headachy thing. It is the body getting used to not having a ready supply of glucose I think from sugars and wheat and other carbs. I do eat fruit and have never really had carb flu but I know people who have and they can be really off for days.

pnutter · 05/11/2015 00:23

Thanks for reply. I've gone from shovelling it in to virtually nothing ..The odd square of 80% dark choc ! So not surprising I guess. Don't eat fruit either.

Feel very full though and not craving carbs so far luckily.

Determined to drop a stone by Christmas

Blodss · 05/11/2015 00:56

That would be great pnutter. Don't think I could drop a stone by Christmas. My body is on a "go slow" but it is going down which makes me happy. I consider all fruit and veg to be too important nutritionally to not eat them. Im primarly doing this to be as healthy as possible and secondly to lose weight (very close second Smile). I don't eat a lot of fat and am careful with how much protein I have as too much makes me ill.
That's why Im doing paleo but am trying to keep it lower carb too.

ProfYaffle · 05/11/2015 07:55

I'm pretty hardcore low carb - less than 20g per day. Personally I never suffered with low carb flu, not entirely sure why! Other forums I'm on usually recommend keeping your salt intake up as a cure for carb flu. The theory is this woe means your body finds it hard to hold onto the salts you need. A cup of broth (ie Bovril or Marigold powder as a drink) is the most often recommended. I've never actually tried it myself though.

Blodss - I originally wanted to lose a stone by Xmas too but don't think I'm going to actually make it either.

I've put on 3lbs!! Angry Am dropping the little bit of cream and seeing what happens. Feeling narked.

Blodss Thanks for cauliflower base recipe. Will be having a go at that.

Prof I did less than 20g a few years ago but couldn't sustain it. I was doing it vege style then though. I ate a lot of cheese Grin.

ProfYaffle · 05/11/2015 09:31

Don't be discouraged by the gain, weigh again in a day or two. I find my weight can fluctuate by 3lbs inside 24hrs, it's very annoying!

KinkyDorito · 05/11/2015 11:57

Thanks I've been on a very steady downward trajectory, so it was a surprise! I'm going to step away from the scales.

pnutter · 05/11/2015 15:11

I'm feeling slightly wobbly today for some reason. I need to think of a quick but really good dinner !
Apart from salt and pepper are there any seasonings or sauces that can be used with chicken ?

Blodss · 05/11/2015 15:28

I like lemon slices and chilli sauce with fresh coriander after it is cooked
.(the thai one). I cook it in the oven with foil over and do potato wedges also cooked in the oven for those that eat carbs. I have salad with mine.

Blodss · 05/11/2015 15:29

Kinky its frustrating when your weight seems to go up but it usually comes down again unless you have had too many of these Cake haha.

Blodss · 05/11/2015 15:30

Why are you wobbling pnutter. Maybe it would help to tell us?

KinkyDorito · 05/11/2015 15:45

Blodss No cheating at all. Not that I haven't considered it Grin.

pnutter hope you're okay Thanks.

Does anyone fast?

Blodss · 05/11/2015 16:11

Kinky I fast but not really intentionally. Its just the way I am. I have my last meal and then dont eat anything the next day until late afternoon/dinner time the next day. Have always done this as Im just not hungry sometimes. I have thought of doing the 14/10 or 16/8 fast as this would fit in with my body.

pnutter · 05/11/2015 16:14

I'm wobbling a bit emotionally missing my late Dad ... normally I'd eat eat eat loads of sugary stuff.
I'm going to make a nice dinner got chicken and might do some courgettes with lemon and chilli thanks blodss

Blodss · 05/11/2015 16:55

I put fresh slices of lemon on top of chicken, olive oil and Thai sweet chilli sauce and bake with foil on.

When did your Dad pass on pnutter?

pnutter · 05/11/2015 18:04

3 months ago ..feels like yesterday sometimes.

Have made creamed spinach and chicken with olive oil lemon and a few spices !

ProfYaffle · 05/11/2015 19:26

Oh pnutter - that virtually is yesterday, you're bound to still be wobbly. Be kind to yourself, changing your woe on top of a recent bereavement is a tall order.

Thanks Flowers

Blodss · 05/11/2015 20:10

That's hard pnutter. Sometimes when things get difficult though it can help to concentrate on something else like your eating. My Mum and Dad are quite ill, one terminal and the other needing a transplant. I found that overhauling my way of eating and really putting all my effort into it helped me to deal with it.
