As the first thread is full, I thought I'd start this one to dip a toe in the water and see if anyone else is still around. At the end of the last thread I think a few of us had decided to have the summer off and come back to it in September - so here I am.

Hope a few of the old gang are still around Smile

That granola sounds like a proper treat. I find I have to have something savoury for breakfast or I find sugar harder to avoid but could be a nice evening snack. If there's a recipe would you mind sharing it?

AlwaysBeYourself · 26/04/2016 11:12

I will write it out for you later NoCoffee. I can't eat sugar either as I get a horrible rush which then makes me need more sugar. Honey Maple or Coconut blossom sugar doesn't have the same affect funnily enough.

Still ticking on here. Feeling very tired on an evening but hoping this will pass. 3 full days done and, after the amount of carbs I was eating over last few weeks, I'm quite surprised to be functioning at all. I'm wondering if you get better at adapting when you've gone LC/paleo a few times.

nocoffee sounds like you've made a brilliant start Smile.

I would also be grateful for the granola recipe as it sounds very nice Always Smile.

Mixed nuts , I use macadamia, walnuts, pecan, Brazil and cashews. Seeds...sunflower, sesame, flaxseeds, pumpkin . Put them in a blender and blitz till desired size. I have mine quite small. Put in a bowl and mix in coconut flakes, dried berries, dates ( leave out whatever you want) and a big spoon of almond flour. Warm some coconut oil and add to it mixing well. Then add sweetener of your choice or no sweetener. I use maple and I also add a touch of sea salt. Mix and put on greased parchment paper and bake on a low oven for an hour or so. Keep an eye and take out when light golden brown. Don't touch and leave to cool. When cool they will have clumped a bit together. Put in a sealed glass jar. I also use date syrup, coconut blossom syrup or honey depending on what I have. Measurements are as much or as little as you want. Make sure everything has a lightish coating of coconut oil. Wink

That sounds lovely. I could absolutely imagine me eating great handfuls of it off the baking tray. I might need to hang on until the sugar craving has passed before attempting it Smile. I'm not sure I have control of my greedy yet.

Another day down. So far, so good. Still tired. Cold weather doesn't help though.

KinkyDorito · 29/04/2016 20:44

Trundling on here. Managed 6 days and feeling so much better for it.

Cold weather still a pain though and still tired. Hopefully warmer weather is due at the weekend which will give me a boost. Smile

Sounds good Dorito. I made a large batch of my low carb granola and have it for breakfast each day. So yummy and gives me that cereal feeling.

Has anyone tried Dukan Mon-Fri and relaxing a little at the weekend? I am not talking about going nuts just having a treat day. Does it just undo all the week's work?

I have IBS and when I tried Dukan before my symptoms defo lessened. I did almost have an incident out running though so they don't make my symptoms disappear fully. I only mention this gross-ness as it's an extra incentive for me to give Dukan another go.
