I am starting this thread to take up from the 10 stone one. That thread has given me a lot of strength and hope and I would like to continue that dialogue but thought it might need freshening up. Champs speak to me! Hows it going and how many new food types can you alert me to?
Any more takers for the long haul speak now!

Any tips for a new long term slimmer? Am going to try and get back on Weight Watchers (first day tomorrow) have about six stone to lose!
Would appreciatr any advice.

glitterfairy · 18/07/2004 13:09

Hiya and welcome!

Top tip is to exercise from me it always helps maybe slowly until you feel fitter.

Also come on here alot and speak to people about how its going and how you are doing. The support here is fantastic and we all have ups and downs. None of us seem embarrassed about confessing our mistakes and eating sins and it helps if you can talk to people who understand how hard it is.

Anyway let us know how it goes and hope to hear from you soon.

this is all jumbled

Jennisaurus · 26/07/2004 23:48

Jumping in I am now 2 stones down and still in a bloody size 18 on my bottom very annoying. But I am thrilled with how my diet is going!

champs · 26/07/2004 23:51

jenni!! well done!!
Glitter!! Miss ya

glitterfairy · 02/08/2004 08:02

Champs have missed you too! Am now huge size 32 (not really) eaten like a queen for two weeks! Pasta red wine and yummy chocolate cakes. When that Beety finds out she will kill me slowly. Anyway back to reality now and will ease into my diet like my wardrobe. Feels a bit wierd dressing to go to work have to say.

Champs there are those hippo things in italy! Never seen them before in England went to Italy into supermarket and there they were. Shouted "oh look Champs hippos" and my family looked at me as thought I had really lost it!

LOL get odd looks from dh when i metion glitter too!!! did you have one? good to hear from you!!!

i have been very naughty without your whip!! only thing that has stopped me from getting heavier is all the walking to and from work, being active at work and the glorious sunshine melting of some of the lard on my thighs LOL!!

have now got incentive of hols next year!! I also hope to go to holiday park this year so will want to look less whale and more dolphin

champs · 02/08/2004 23:17

of course i am asking if you had a hippo

glitterfairy · 04/08/2004 17:01

rofl lardy one! No I didnt the look was enough when I shrieked your name and hippo in one breath! Of course Champs was too busy tucking into the old red wine and stuff. My whip has been refreshed but needs using on me I am afraid and the nearer I get to seeing Beets the worse i am behaving.

glitterfairy · 06/08/2004 07:26

Am not afraid as she is really secretly in a good mood. Plus in one week she will have a whole week with me in which to rant and get it out of her system! Am opnly afraid when I am not going to be seeing her soon!

lol glitter, Been doing ok but am still boycotting scales.

beety-- too much math!! hope you work something out.

bran · 06/08/2004 16:15

Hi there, can I join in? I have just started with WW on Wednesday and have over 7 stone to lose, so it'll be a while.

I'm having a bit of trouble with lunch - usually I would have a large granary roll with something high in WW points like cheese, or something with mayonaise, together with something sweet like a choccy biscuit, an apple and still water. Obviously the choccy biscuit is out the window, but what would be a good replacement for the roll that I would be able to get fairly easily (I work near-ish to a Sainsbury's and a M&S). I'm not at all the type to make something the night before and bring it in, and I prefer stuff that's easy to eat so that I can keep working. Any suggestions?

bran · 07/08/2004 14:14

DH just told me to 'shut up and eat something', does anyone else turn into a bitch when they're dieting?

Still feeling pissed off actually, he used my WW points calculator as a chopping board to chop cheese and tomato for his bagel and claimed it was my fault because it shouldn't have been sitting on the kitchen counter.

glitterfairy · 07/08/2004 19:04

Bran welcome to the newly appointed lazy bloaters club you are putting us to shame! IMO Dh is useless at supporting me in any attempt to diet. My personal view is that he is frightened that if I get slim he will have to shape up!

Lunch is a hard one but i am sure that many will have stuff to eat. How about humous, carrots fruit and feta? All good stuff and not too fattening. I would keep the roll if that is what you are used to and just add some crunchy stuff and a filling which is ok. I quite like light philadelphia but a kind of greek salad might be nice with olives or how about some ham or chicken and salad? Also fruit instead of the cake. Oh my god I sound like a diet guru.

Monika where are you lately? Everyone has been a little quiet.

champs · 07/08/2004 22:21

hi glitter!! how are ya?! you sound like a real group leader!!
Bran-- Welcome!! M&S have Count on us stuff that you could try, sandwiches, rolls and prepared salads. also ready meals. Sainsbury's have a healthy range too Treat Yourself or something like that. Is their a Tesco near you? they have ww points on back of the Healthy Livng range. Also if you count your points you can have choc, but dont let me tempt you... I have spent years fighting the choc attack and have now given up.

bran · 07/08/2004 22:31

Thanks Glitter and Champs. I will definitely check out your suggestions, you know how it is, I've been going to the same local deli for years and I just couldn't imagine anything outside my routine. The extra walk to the supermarket/M&S will nudge up my step count too.

My dh isn't terribly good at being supportive with lifestyle things, he ocillates between disinterest and taking over, I prefer the disinterest.

I thought I would try a week without chocolate Champs, which may be why dh is currently annoying me by breathing in and out. Next week I'll work out the ww points for Green & Black's Maya Gold - I'm a bit of a chocolate snob so I'd rather not have any than eat the ww version of chocolate.

glitterfairy · 08/08/2004 18:45

Captain Glitter here group leader Champs! lol Bran all men breathe it is an unfortunate fact! My dh being supportive as am eating chocolate. The reason he hates me dieting is I cease to care what e eats and feed myself mostly! However the laugh is on me as he saw a photo of himself on hols and went oh my god I look pregnant! HA he will have to join in now having been a bean pole all his life. What goes around etc!!!!

OP posts:
champs · 09/08/2004 23:01
