I am starting this thread to take up from the 10 stone one. That thread has given me a lot of strength and hope and I would like to continue that dialogue but thought it might need freshening up. Champs speak to me! Hows it going and how many new food types can you alert me to?
Any more takers for the long haul speak now!

Champs am eating apple and cinnamon rice cakes very tasty from tesco. Have lost four pounds even though I snuck in a cream tea one day! This is because of the gym rather than diet but how cares it is coming off without too much effort apart from exercise whihc I enjoy as much as eating so hurrah secret formula found. Now lets fiind yours!

Beets sigh will never be in a bikini too many signs of aging even if thin as a stick! The thinnest I can ever imagine getting is a sort of Marolyn Munroe figure in some like it hot! A size 16 or so. But hey many men felt she was the hottest chick in town and as one of my friends said to me the other day fat chicks don't crease so no wrinkles at least!

glitterfairy · 17/06/2004 10:53

Of course Champs you are right as ever.
I definately think we are both trying hard at the moment and working at being good if not always succeeding. Have two weeks away coming up so that is always a trial! Anyway take care and dont find any more new food stuffs this weekend!

Glitter, 4 pounds, brilliant - I hope your friend is right about those lines . Champs, it sounds like you're doing well as well, giving up chocolate, I am impressed. Thank you for your words of wisdom the other day. I have got DH to kick me up the backside and I'm back on track with WW. I have lost a pound which considering I was on holiday in Somerset and had an encounter with an AGA during half term, I am very pleased with ! DH's boss it talking about hiring a yacht for a firm's day out, visions of it listing (or whatever yachts do) heavily on my side is also an added incentive.....

champs · 17/06/2004 19:23

glitter-- sure you will be fine on trip away, and even if you do have the odd indulgence, you can just cut back a little when you get back.

kitty-- lol, why not stay in the middle of yacht!! Just imagining the lovely sea breeze and lapping waters on side of boat...oooo will be wonderful just remember sun block and PLENTY of water. Lets just say I found that tip out the hard way after a day cruise on a catamaran(sp)

glitterfairy · 17/06/2004 19:36

Lol kittypickle but not as bad as the mumsnet summer party where that naughty beets is hiring a trampoline for me to bounce on as a laugh.

Enough incentive for a dozen slimmers I reckon. havent been that good the last two days but am back at the gym tomorrow.

Champs how are you doing?

OP posts:
champs · 18/06/2004 18:56

glitter my hun!! I am doing not so good but not as bad as could be...(can u see I'm tryin to be poss!!)
Next week is a NEW week and I am going to join ww officially, either at home, or online. it is alot of money and dont know if I can justify spending it but i look at it like if i put all that money in I'll HAVE to stick to it. With my first pay packet coming in next month I can treat myself to this!!
will also join the pedimeter thread as incentive to get some excersise. Have the two tokens to send off.

glitterfairy · 18/06/2004 21:38

Very positive champs and no need for a whipping so thats a relief!

Joining ww may not be a bad idea although the mn group are doing me fine at the mo. You get lots of praise and emails and stuff and no money changes hands.

Am eating chocolate at the moment stress I think but still at the gym so trying hard!

OP posts:
champs · 21/06/2004 01:57

Hey!! what happened to my message!! I think i forgot to press post message!!!!!

How are you glitter and kitty?!

glitter dont be stressed!! easier said than done I know.

Fio2 · 21/06/2004 13:26

I am so glad I am not the only long term slimmer. Does anyone else feel like they go through periods of putting on and then periods of loosing? Never an even keel?

glitterfairy · 21/06/2004 16:23

All the time its a nightmare but still losing so that is good. the only way is down! Long term slimming is like pmt it never goes away and mood swings affect all that you do.

Champs matey not too stressed as down another dress size. Spent far too much on lcothes today as a result!

HI everyone! I'm a long term slimmer too. Can't really remember when I wasn't on a diet yet I haven't lost any weight for about 9 months. Before that i'd lost a stone and still have almost three to go really - well two would be nice. I just seem to maintain and yet feel deprived becasue I can't eat what I like. It's pretty much all low fat with a couple of treats. I'm not sure how I could eat less to lose weight and am feeling so peed off that I am only maintaining. Any ideas? I am in a bit of a rut as you can tell!! I am really very good until I get home and by then I am starving and pick pick pick.

Hi Glitterfairy - how are you doing? I am trying to exercise more too - have agreed to do the Great Manchester Run for work next year so will be getting training for that....fancy it??!! I can't quite belevie it actually!

moniker · 21/06/2004 16:59

Sorry - meant to say hi to everyone else too!! - it was Fio2's post that made me post - seems like we are in the same situation

champs · 21/06/2004 19:18

hi all!! well done glitter!! I was feeling ever so upset as I have put on 3lbs.... serves me right tho as have been eating a fair amount as you know. But I tried on a skirt I have been trying to get into, out of desperation as my clothes were dirty and it fit!!! so what on earth has happened?! maybe the weight I gained went straight to my face... certainly looks like it.

fio2 that is exactly what has happened to me, off again, on again sounds like one of my teenage relationships

moniker-- you did said hi to everyone!! prob not the right person to give advice but.... you could try a detox, beety started one and it helped, I didn't do the whole detox but cut out some things and that helped too.
Have you tried counting cals? that helps some although it is too much bother for me,
or how about if you take down your measurements? maybe you have lost more inches than weight,
have you tried one of the diet plans?
Execise is good at shifting some pounds, and you have started to do some so maybe you will see some more results,
Lots of water.... Lots of salad.... pineapple and grapfruit is meant to be good for weight loss!!??.....

Kittypickle · 22/06/2004 17:16

Hi everyone ! Champs, please don't get upset, it will go again, you made me feel loads better last week and as a result I picked myself up, stuck to it and lost this week. What about sitting down and planning a weeks menus, building in a reasonable amount of low point treats ? That has helped me this week and my bank balance

Glitter, a dress size is very impressive and what a great excuse for new clothes !

Fio2 - I've gone up and down with my weight for about the last 14 years now, each time I lose I put on a bit more. I am absolutely determined that this is really absolutely the last time I lose weigh. One of the reasons I like WW is that I think it probably teaches you the eating habits of a naturally thin person if that makes any sense.

Moniker, not sure what to suggest apart from to make sure you don't get too hungry to try to prevent picking so much in the evening.

champs · 22/06/2004 22:31

thanks kitty!!
glitter, have you gone away on your trip?! where are you!!

picked all day today been feeling down recently broke down in tears when dh came in yesturday. Had a minor run in with a mnetter today feel horrrrrrrrridddddddd

glitterfairy · 26/06/2004 00:07

Hello all back now and in Dublin this week so can go on the net hurrah London is rubbish for wifi!

Anyway a very very very bad week put on threee just like you Champs and am very upset....but have eaten out loads very very nice food and got durnk three times which is worse. Quite frankly think it is alcohol which is the worst thing so am going to try and stay off it in Dublin Crossed fingers.

Moniker I am going to the gym and working really hard at fitness so may even conside a walk but run not so sure. Its great to see you on here though.

hiya Kitty

Champs whoever the naughty mnetter was just tell me and I'll sit on her. With my extra three pounds the life will be crushed out slowly.

OP posts:
moniker · 27/06/2004 13:47

hello again - thanks for the advice everyone. I lost 1.5lbs last week which was good but am still finding the evenings hard! It's the willpower I need - I still have this idea that one day I will just wake up slim with no effort at all!! It's really weird - as if I secretly think I'm thin but I'm not!! I go to Rosemary Conley (diet and exercise class)so follow that low fat diet for my meals but end up eating extra treats - mainly the kids stuff!! I am getting fitter though and even enjoy exercise these days

I also went out and bought some proper running trainers at the weekend so just need a trainng plan now! I have a trampoline Glitter - maybe I could just bounce on that although my boobs would be around my waist if i did i think! It's going to take a year before I can even jog 10K I think!!

I'll try to keep in touch with you all - you are all really inspirational! LOL xx

champs · 27/06/2004 17:25

hi all!!
glitter!! hi!!, ate better yesturday, just get soooo hungry at work, all that up and down, plus expressing..... tried to choose healthy option tho. MUST do good, MUST DO GOOD.
Still deciding whether to go for WW at home or online.

Moniker-- how about cutting back slightly in the day so you can make way for all your treats in the evening.

Jennisaurus · 29/06/2004 01:12

Just checking in. I had a full fat yog for dinner and a cheese and tuna sarnie so I feel portly! Lost a pound last week, so total weightloss is now 1 stone 2 pounds...which is not as much as i had hoped for by this point.

Hope everyone is doing wonderfully.

champs · 29/06/2004 01:50

jennisauras-- that is brill!! your first stone and well on the way to your next half, well done. Needed some motivation. thank you for the update.
