Here we go again!

Ok it's the magic thread where we find inspiration, motivation and actually see the results we want and manage to hold on to them once we get them.

No more excuses (unless they are hilarious or necessary).

Welcome all!

Had a crap night last night. Had 2 bags of crisps and some noodles. Feeling really crap today, have a rotten cough courtesy of SIL visiting when she had a cough/cold and now it turns out she has bronchitis - is it contagious?

Taking the kids out for the afternoon to get some fresh air and exercise. The hopefully they will sleep - unlike last night.

How's everyone's weekend going?

OP posts:
BeyondTheSea · 11/04/2015 17:18

Oh no - hope you feel better soon Sol.

crisps and noodles - could be far worse. That shouldn't do too much damage.

I am having such a hungry day. Day 4- not sure I can last a whole week :(

I had a 'Green' party experience today, I am so anti social.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 11/04/2015 20:27

Well TOTM is here and that explains the disaster that was my diet. So I am using my SolScience and I have written off the last few days

Anyone else want a go of my magic wand to undo any screw ups?

What happened at your party Beyond?

OP posts:
BeyondTheSea · 11/04/2015 20:30

TOM here too, I can make it if I don't go in the kitchen.

Was a party DS was invited too, I did lots of standing around trying not to make eye contact with anyone Grin

I want one of those wands.

BeyondTheSea · 12/04/2015 19:35

I cracked and had some food tonight, felt really cold and not just right this evening, so decided probably needed to break the fast Grin

Planning a 500 cal day for tomorrow and Wednesday:
Soya yogurt (125)
Soup (130)
Chicken stir fry (250)

Will aim for 1500 on other days.

Unsure re when to weigh as TOM, maybe Tuesday.

How are you both?
Hope you had great weekends.

BeyondTheSea · 12/04/2015 19:47

and just had some chocolate - will definitely need to fast tomorrow!

Greenrabbit · 13/04/2015 15:46

Day 1 of Exante. I'm starving. Sad

BeyondTheSea · 13/04/2015 20:39

Oh no Green, keep going.

Although I only managed 5 days, I am planning on fasting 3 days this week.

Decided to weigh in on Saturday to get a 'real eating food' weight!

BeyondTheSea · 13/04/2015 20:40

Did you have a good week last week?
Sol how are you?

SolitudeSometimesIs · 13/04/2015 21:31

Hi all,

Day 70 billion of Exante - or so it feels.

Starving here too but DH says he can see the change in my figure. I can pull up and down my size 16 trousers without opening them and then are actually quite baggy on the leg now. Had an extra bar today as I fancied chocolate but didn't want to have an Easter egg as I knew I would scoff the lot.

How was your fast day Beyond? Do you use the fasting as maintenance or do you still lose weight?

Day 1 is a pain in the arse Green, battle through. Can you go to bed so Day 1 is over quicker?

OP posts:
BeyondTheSea · 13/04/2015 21:34

my fast day didn't work out so will need to do Wed/Thurs now!

Good news on the trousers.
I am hoping to still lose, if I fast 2-3 days a week. Happy with 1-2lbs weekly (if only)

SolitudeSometimesIs · 13/04/2015 21:53

1-2 lbs per week would be great Beyond. Did you not manage to fast today?

I'm going to try the shakes tomorrow, they are quite malty when heated so I'm keen to try them cold. Do I need ice or will very cold water do?

OP posts:
BeyondTheSea · 13/04/2015 22:16

For some reason, I couldn't get my head round fasting. Think I've had 1500 cals.

I might try and fast tomorrow, but wed/thurs would be easier for me.

I like the shakes just with cold water.

Are you doing exante all week?

SolitudeSometimesIs · 13/04/2015 22:24

My plan is to do Exante 5 days per week and have 2 days off. When I say off, I don't mean I'll be hitting the takeaways, I just mean I'll eat normal food but make healthy choices. I love hummous and chopped veg on a Saturday night and have quite the tomato soup addiction, so I want to keep a normal diet while re-training some of my crappy eating habits. I listened to your wise words about having normal food.

1500 cals is still pretty low, I think you should be quite happy about that.

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 14/04/2015 10:12

I had a nut and raisin bar for breakfast, they are delicious. I could eat them all day. That would be a bad idea though.

Feeling really positive about sticking to the plan for the week. Fingers crossed!

SolitudeSometimesIs · 14/04/2015 18:19

I had a peanut butter bar as PMT mega-snack. It was gorgeous. A bit like a snickers without the whole bits of peanuts, as if someone had chewed it for me. It was very filling so I'm a happy bunny.

Lunch was a chicken soup. I think I might become a little addicted to them. Very thick and creamy and delicious. I have to say I like the food that is in the diet, some of it is not to my taste like the more meaty ones, but overall, yum!

Feel full of energy today and even though I am freezing and I was up all night with DS2, I don't feel like I want to give up. The second of our weddings is about 4 weeks away and I have to make the decision as to whether to get the Phase Eight dress or not. DH says yes, my money management brain says no.

I feel like I'm in the zone today, I hope it lasts.

How's everyone else getting on?

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 14/04/2015 21:38

Sorry, I meant to write more yesterday but children stopped me. Then I had important TV to watch! I survived though. I kept drinking loads of water to stop the hunger pangs.

Both those bars are nice Sol. But I'm glad I don't have any of the peanut butter ones now!

Glad you're in the zone and that's great about your trousers. Have you seen any other dresses that you like?

I've managed day 2. We went out for most of the day and I forgot my lunch. So when I got back I was starving and had 2 boiled eggs with asparagus and broccoli. Then I had a banana shake for after a. Just had a cup of tea with a bar so I feel okay.

How are you doing Beyond? I think fast days are difficult too. Although I did quite well that week before Easter. I found it better (for me) to just have one meal on a night. I looked forward to it and felt like I wasn't trying to think of loads of low cal snacks. It's probably more difficult if you're at work and have to concentrate though.
I read your comments about your son not sleeping. I can sympathise with that. DD2 is still co sleeping (although she goes to bed in her cot and sleeps until around 1am) and DD1 has been coming into our bed for the last few months. She seems to have phases of doing it. We don't mind but she insists on lying in the middle of DH's spot and won't more over so he often has to sleep in her bed. It's really tiring though. We all wake each other up and it gets far too warm!
She's 4 next month and has been really emotional too. I wonder if it's a hormone/development thing? Maybe their minds are getting more active at night and they can't settle down as well?

Greenrabbit · 14/04/2015 21:43

I have just over 7 weeks until the wedding we are going to. I have very few ideas about what I'm going to wear. Can anyone remind me of any shops I might have forgotten about? I've only looked at Monsoon and Coast..
I really need to be under 13 stone for this.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 14/04/2015 22:02

Debenhams, Hobbs, House of Fraser, Topshop (They are a bit hit and miss but some of their summer stuff can be nice) are a few to try. Have you looked to see if you can rent a dress anywhere if you don't fancy buying one. What about online? I love Dolly Dagger but I've never bought anything from it.

How essential is it to get to 13 stone? Have you much to lose to get there? Maybe concentrate on a style you like and put together an outfit that can work whatever size you will be.

You must have been starving when you got home, well done for not grabbing something while you were out. I would have caved.

We have very wakeful children here at the moment too. A lot of growing pains for DS1 with lots of late night leg rubs being administered while I try not to fall asleep in his bed. DS2 is cutting his eye teeth so he has spent the last few days screaming his head off. He didn't go to sleep until 4am this morning and then I was up at 7am to get DS1 ready fro school.

I really feel your pain about being exhausted, it drains the life out of you. i have no solutions except be kind to yourself, eat well and rest when you can. No diet is worth being a run-down lunatic for.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've just had a quick look at John Lewis and Warehouse and Oasis. The problem is the things I like are more suited to Alexa Chung. The things that will fit and suit will look more like Granma wear.
I was 14stone 5lb yesterday. Shock Truely shocking. (I drank so much wine last week)14stone 1lb today. So just over a stone to lose. I just hope I can do this properly for 3 weeks and lose a big chunk. I think the under 13stone is a physiological thing.

I was starving but I didn't trust myself to even look at buying anything to eat.

Hope you get some sleep soon too. Our schools aren't back till next week so at least I don't have to rush to get ready in the morning.

BeyondTheSea · 15/04/2015 20:16

Boden?
Have you looked at somerset @ john lewis?

I think you can do a stone in 3 weeks. We'll cheer you on. But anything you lose will be good? We are in this long term (it seems :)

I weighed myself this am and I am 11stone 6, so still 4lbs up. Really want to get below 11. Can't seem to get as focused. Have about 5 days of exante left, might do it next week. I did ok today and then had an upsetting (for patient) afternoon at work which made dieting seem so irrelevant and ended up eating chocolate! Still under a 1000 cals though I think.

How things Sol? When are these children going to sleep????

Greenrabbit · 15/04/2015 20:52

I'm definitely in this for the long term! I think a stone is achievable if I really stick at it. May is a terrible Month for family Birthdays so I'm going to have to be very strict with myself. If I manage to lose a big chunk in 3 weeks I'll be very happy.

Would it be better to use the Exante up doing some fast days? I still think under 1000 calories is really good. I think it is difficult to diet when you have a stressful job. I hope your day has got better since.
Was it 10stone that you are aiming for?

DD2 decided to act up last night so I felt quite tired today. I've managed to stick to it reasonably well though. 3 packs and a Baby Bel. I've promised myself 2 meals over the weekend as well.

I like all the dresses you linked but I don't think I suit the higher necklines. The Boden one would be perfect if it was a scoop or v neck. I'll have a look at Boden and Joules.
I'm tempted to go for the vintage style of dress (the low cut with the nipped in waist and flared skirt) but I'm not sure if I want to go for that type of look. The style would suit me but I think I'd need to do some serious research into vintage hairstyles and do the full on makeup.

I'll link some dresses that I've seen when I've looked at Boden
