Here we go again!

Ok it's the magic thread where we find inspiration, motivation and actually see the results we want and manage to hold on to them once we get them.

No more excuses (unless they are hilarious or necessary).

Welcome all!

It's depressing isn't it? I weighed myself yesterday. 14stone 9lb. Put most of what I lost last month back on. Like yourself I only have myself to blame. It hasn't stopped my little pity party though. Hate myself today.

I've planned a menu for the week. I'm hoping to try to do some actual exercise. (Or at least walk more) It will be easier to fit in as DD1 will be in school all day.

I've actually planned some real lunches for myself. My eating habitats when not on Exante have became ridiculous, especially during the day. I need to treat it more seriously and plan them like I used to when I took lunch to work.

I need to lose 3 stone. It seems impossible when I think 1lb per week, but I suppose it would take less than a year. The yoyo dieting needs to stop.

I should really think about what to wear for this wedding. It's just the evening part. I don't even know the couple so I'm not overly bothered about the whole thing. I have a black long sleeved shift dress that I might end up wearing.

BeyondTheSea · 13/09/2015 21:08

Equally depressing weigh in from me. 11 st 13

I'm wondering if a steady lb a week will actually help us, I know it's boring and it will take ages but the big losses we had with exante didn't work really, I think we were so restricted that we went off the rails when not on it.

I really need to do couch to 5k or some kind of exercise.
Over indulged a bit this weekend, so planning a fast day tomorrow to make up for it.

We do a new rousing theme tune- Sol was it a rocky one we had before?
Anyway - we can do this!

Your dress sounds good Green, classic.

Greenrabbit · 13/09/2015 22:00

You're right about the Exante Beyond. It's great for losing quickly but doesn't really help improve eating habits.
As an adult I've never found it easy to lose without exercise and diet, but I never gained weight so easily.

I can't think of a theme tune. I'm too tired. I've been singing Pulp songs all weekend for some reason. Not very exercise friendly.

The dress is from Asda Beyond. It might pass for classic if the lights are dim, I'd better keep away from naked flames though!

Oh and speaking of clothes I've got rid of 6 bags of old clothes from my loft this week. I've still got loads to sort out. I've realised that I've spent most of my free time dressed like a student. Hmm

SolitudeSometimesIs · 14/09/2015 08:40

I know the weights aren't great, but let's use it as a starting point. I don't know about you guys, but I feel I have been on a diet all sodding year and I'm still fat. I think healthy eating is the way to go. Shall we post interesting recipes and stuff to try and spur each other on?

Exante was brilliant for the quick loss and I definitely felt that not thinking about food made me stick to it better. However, I learned nothing from it. Instead of re-training my eating habits, I fell in to worse ones when I wasn't on it. And what pisses me off even more is that I studied Nutrition, I know all this shit - the best way to change behaviours, how to create a working food model etc. etc. I'm just unable/unwilling to put it into practise myself.

Meal planning is a great idea. I need to start doing that. The exercise thing I can't see happening on a regular regime, but we have started going to the pool (it's hardly swimming, but I try to march my legs up and down the entire time I'm in the water) every week so hopefully that will help.

I went out for dinner last night and had rocket, feta and beetroot salad in orange dressing. It was delicious. I had to mentally reprimand myself to ensure I didn't get a pizza, cannelloni or the amazing macaroni and cheese balls that they do (seriously, they are phenomenal). But the salad was really filling and it was something I could never make at home, my salads are terribly dull. I came away from the meal without a case of the guilts and was pleased I could do it.

Ok, I'm off to hunt out my Spandex and find my 80's style ghetto blaster to get the rousing theme tune playing and kick start our Autumn Slimdown!

My jeggings keep rolling down under my massive stomach. So that's quite motivating really!

I'm also aiming for a fast day today. Mainly to kick start things. Don't know if it will be. Weekly thing though.

I've just been for a walk for DD2 with the buggy. She's being terrible with naps and I don't want her falling asleep on this afternoons school run. So it was a brisk 25min walk. (I had to get back for a parcel) I think I'll,try for something like that most days. Maybe I'll try a DVD one day in the week and once on a weekend. We will see.

Once I finish this coffee I will start my cooking. I'll post links to my recipes, they are both meat free.

Greenrabbit · 14/09/2015 11:55

A quiche for my lunches www.slimmingworld.com/recipes/crustless-red-onion-and-courgette-quiche.aspx

Greenrabbit · 14/09/2015 11:57

This stew for tonight (and maybe some to freeze for my lunch) thehonoursystem.com/2015/04/01/curried-lentil-potato-stew-vegan-gluten-free/

Greenrabbit · 14/09/2015 12:01

I'm also going to cook some jacket potatoes for a quick dinner one night. (Various fillings and salad)
I've got a chicken to roast another night and I might cook the leftovers in a stir fry the next day for dinner.

I'm also planning this www.slimmingworld.com/recipes/chicken-sweet-potato-and-squash-tagine.aspx maybe on Friday or Saturday.

Pinterest is great for recipes. Do you have it?

Off to start cooking now.

Racheyg · 14/09/2015 21:59

I cant believe i have been MIA for a whole month.
I hope you are all well?
I have not been dieting and have started to drink alcohol again (obv using expressed bm for baby if I do drink :) )

I am going to start the body coach and go back to the gym......have booked in the creche for wednesday so no excuses :)

I promise I will keep more up to date with checking in......time just seems to run away with me at the moment.

Hope you all have a good night sleep xx

SolitudeSometimesIs · 16/09/2015 22:04

Those meals look lovely Green, I'll be stealing those recipes. How are you finding this week? I have been ok with it, very hungry but I think it might be because it's very cold here.

I made some veggie soups and have had hummous and crackers for dinner but I made the huge mistake of having a glass of wine with DH tonight and I've had some crisps (sorry!).

My computer is acting up big time. I hope this finally posts, it's been driving me mad.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 16/09/2015 22:42

They were both nice, especially the quiche.

We've had weird weather. Raining and cold yesterday, then lovely and sunny today.

I had hummus and crackers last night. I haven't been feeling great and it was all I could be bothered with. I ate some of DDs crisps today, but I've stayed off the alcohol.(Probably because my head is hurting and I have no wine in the house) I'll get some in for the weekend though.

So the week has been okay so far. I haven't stuck to it as strictly as planned but I haven't had any mad binges on anything either. I'll get there eventually.
Oh I walked to school and back today. It's over 2 miles, it was too wet to walk yesterday.

Hi Rachey. I hope the gym went well today (or is it next week?) what is the body coach? I'll have to have a Google.

Greenrabbit · 16/09/2015 23:04

Oh the transformations on the Body coach look amazing. Don't think I'd want to send a picture of myself though. Very tempting. Have you done it before Rachey?

Greenrabbit · 17/09/2015 09:22

I'm so tired this morning. I wanted to mainline toast for breakfast, instead I've mixed oats, apple, raspberries and yogurt together.

I think we'll have jacket potatoes and chilli for dinner tonight. I'm going to have the rest of the quiche and some salad for lunch.

It's time consuming thinking of things and cooking though. I need to start researching for next week. I've seen some ideas on the Internet for freezer meals. You put the raw ingredients into a freezer bag (and label it up). Then you defrost and put it into your slow cooker. If I can get a list together I'm going to try to make some on Sunday. Most of the recipes are American so I'll have to find some to suit us.

Greenrabbit · 17/09/2015 09:26

newleafwellness.biz/2014/11/18/crockpot-freezer-meals-from-costco-12-meals-75-minutes/

This is what I'm rambling on about. Maybe some of the meals could be made veggie?

I just thought it was quite a good idea. I often try to batch cook, but by the time you prepare it all and cook it can take ages. At least with these you are only doing the prep. I often find that's what stops us having a healthy meal if I don't things prepared early in the day.

Racheyg · 17/09/2015 14:37

The gym went really well. I'm going to try and go three times a week. They have a crèche which is making it easier for me.

The body coach is a online personal trainer called joe wicks. You send in pics and lifestyle questions and he sets out a suitable programme for you. He has really nice recipes which are easy to create and I then do his work out videos on you tube.

I've never done it before but I'm at that point where I will try anything ?? I also want to lose about 3 stone.

Green, that's sounds like s great idea with batch cooking :)

BeyondTheSea · 17/09/2015 20:12

Sorry - having really busy week, not been great due to social things, going to weigh in next week and aim for 2lbs then!

Catch up properly at weekend !

Greenrabbit · 18/09/2015 11:06

That's great Rachey. At the moment I really feel the hardest part is getting started with exercise. What sort of thing do you do at the gym. I haven't been for years?
The Body Coach does look good. I might sign up for the 7 day free part, I'm too scared of hard work at the moment!

I bought an online programme called Mutu system when I was pregnant and still haven't started it. It helps rebuild your core and close stomach muscles. Then it builds up to intense work outs.
I've been getting back into a routine this week with DD1 at school full time, so I'm going to sort out some space and the equipment and finally start next week. (Well that's the plan anyway)

Racheyg · 19/09/2015 22:04

Green, before I had ds2 I used to do spinning and body attack classes but now I just do high intensity interval training which the "body coach" does videos of on you tube. It's basically 30 secs of high knees, 30 secs of sumo squats, burpees and mountain climbers.

Wow that does sound impressive, I've never heard it. Will have to google it

SolitudeSometimesIs · 20/09/2015 09:02

Hi,

I forgot to weigh in yesterday. I was up really early with the kids and then had breakfast before I remembered. I would weigh in this morning but I went out for dinner last night and even though I ate healthily and no desserts (did have some wine though) I am not going near a scales.

That's great that you are back to the gym Rachey, are you working out at home too? What's Body Attack? It sounds like people just beat you with baseball bats or something.

I love those recipes Green, I will definitely be using some of those. Batch cooking is a great idea, I'm heading back to work soon so it will be nice to be able to just leave something decent to defrost that DH can just heat up when he gets in with the kids.

I'm heading out for a massive walk in a bit, to try and burn off last nights indulgences. Off to dig out my Reebok wobbly runners to make me work extra hard!

Racheyg · 20/09/2015 10:38

sol body attack was a high intense cardio class I loved it but the times of the classes at my gym clash with ds1 activities

m.youtube.com/watch?v=C2tTse8b6ZU

This was my fave routine really got the adrenaline going Grin

Racheyg · 20/09/2015 10:39

Have a good walk you have picked the right day for it Grin

Greenrabbit · 20/09/2015 22:06

I'll have a look at those videos Rachey. Thanks.

I bought all the ingredients to start the batch cooking today. Then we had to go out and it's all sitting in the fridge. So that's tomorrow's job as I have rather a lot of chicken...

Lost 2lb this week. Going to keep trying this week too. I seemed to have more energy today.

Racheyg · 20/09/2015 22:48

Wow congrats green 2lb is great Flowers

That video was a body attack class,
I will post a link to the hiit work out I do. Good thing is you don't need a gym or equipment. Grin
