Here we go again!

Ok it's the magic thread where we find inspiration, motivation and actually see the results we want and manage to hold on to them once we get them.

No more excuses (unless they are hilarious or necessary).

Welcome all!

I love that swimsuit Beyond and the cover up is fab. Thanks so much. You have such good style, I may need to hire you as my personal shopper to whip me in to shape. Did you manage to stick to Exante all weekend?

It's my first day of Exante and it's off to a coffee fuelled start. I have given myself a list of jobs to keep myself busy every day should I start to feel hungry: organise hotpress, cull kids toys, go through everyone's wardrobes and take out things that are too big/too small/ugly and generally clean the house out. I know these are very "homely" things but I have self-improvement ones penned in for next week: sort eybrows, mani/pedi's, sort out the hooves that are my feet, dye hair etc. I think once I start to slim down I should try to make the best of myself. In my twenties I used to have Weds nights as my grooming nights, I'm going to try and bring that back.

My Exante order should be here by the end of the week so I'm using up the bits and bobs that I have left. I weighed myself this morning but I think it may be a bit of a false reading because I didn't get my dinner until 10.30pm last night and I had a big meal - we got caught up in bad traffic and then the kids wouldn't go to bed after the bbq, it was a disaster. So I think I may have weighed more this morning than I normally would, if that makes sense.

Anyway my start weight is 191.0 lbs/ 13 stone 6 lbs Blush.

I think I put on 4 lbs this weekend because of all my takeaways and wine. Oh well, I enjoyed myself and I won't be having any more for a long time.

How is everyone else doing?

Greenrabbit · 06/07/2015 10:36

Hi everyone.
I've had an nice weekend. Probably ate too much, but it's done now. I was going to fast today but I think I'll do tomorrow instead.

I'm not sure if I've lost anything (because I didn't weigh myself last Monday) But I'm the same as I was last Wednesday after fasting. Plus my period is due today. Anyway I was 14 stone 5lb Shock I'm a stone heavier than just before Christmas.

So I need a plan! Going to keep fasting for the next couple of weeks and then start Exante in 2 weeks time. I'd love to be 13 stone by September. I know it can be done, but will power seem to be lacking at the moment.

I'll post more later.

Racheyg · 06/07/2015 13:51

hi all,

hope you are all well?

day 1 of healthy eating went ok until I raided ds1 biscuit tin........he wont notice the missing malted milk (blush)

beyond......that sounds like a great thing to do with the diet. one week on one weekend off. Thats why I always weigh myself on a friday so i can relax a bit at weekends then work hard in the week.

sol....pamper wednesdays sound like an excellent idea. My oh thinks washing my hair is a treat.........i feel its more of a chore tbh :) good luck starting the diet you will be wowing in that swimsuit in no time ;)

Green.....thats a great target and very doable. good luck with the fasting

SolitudeSometimesIs · 06/07/2015 20:31

Were the malted milks the only thing you had today that wasn't healthy? If so, that wasn't so bad really Rachey

You will definitely lose a stone by September Green. You sound pretty motivated by the 5:2. I think you underestimate how much will power you have.

I'm starving. I want some crisps and a choccy bar and well, I might as well wish for a glass of wine. But I will not have them, I have the fear of being in a swimsuit to keep me going.

Day 2 of Exante tomorrow.

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 07/07/2015 21:34

Day 2 of Exante was ok, mostly due to it's lack of Exante.

My very lovely friend who I haven't seen in yonks invited me and the kids up for lunch and a play in her new house. I had hummous and a few crackers, pretended to eat some of the multitude of baked goods, crisps and biscuits she had made (she is an incredible baker, though she didn't make the crisps) and avoided the offer of taking home lots of cake.

Great day was had by all and I felt I did pretty well. I made some good choices and really enjoyed myself. I can't live in an Exante bubble and need to take some responsibility.

How did everyone else get on?

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 08/07/2015 09:53

Day 3 of Exante and I had apple and custard mush for breakfast, it was pretty grim. I really wanted toast. All the packs I have left over are ones I wasn't too keen on so my choices are limited. I have lots of shakes left that I bake in buns cases and then turn in to little cakes which are far more palatable, I can't wait until my order comes next week.

Had a quick weigh in and I have lost 3.8 lbs so far, so that's motivation enough to keep in line.

How's everyone getting on?

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 08/07/2015 10:50

Ohh well done Sol. That loss must be motivating. Hopefully the new packs will turn up soon.

The biscuits don't sound too bad Rachey. I think biscuits are a necessity with a newborn anyway!

How is Exante going for you Beyond?

I'm not doing brilliantly. Feeling ill, really tired. I just can't be bothered. I'm trying to make some effort to not not eat rubbish though. I just feel like I need to sleep for about a week. DD2 has decided 5:45am is a good time to get up every morning.

Racheyg · 08/07/2015 17:02

Sol, that's amazing weight loss. Well done for avoiding all them nice treats at your friends. I could avoid them......not much will power :(

Green.....I hope you feel better soon,

BeyondTheSea · 08/07/2015 20:17

Oh well done Sol - that's brilliant. I don't like the exante bars anymore, just had the curry and thought it was good. Reminded me a bit of a vesta curry - remember them?! Well done on being so restrained at your friends, it wouldn't be pretty if cakes were put in front of me :)
Day 5 for me, I am only planning on doing 7 days, then weekend off. Next week going to fast Mon/Wed and possibly Thurs.

Hope you feel better soon Green. DD is an early riser too...
Rach - biscuits don't sounds too bad at all.

I will weigh in either Friday or Saturday. Not sure I can be strict all day Friday, definitely feel more tired and I have 2 small people to entertain all day....

SolitudeSometimesIs · 09/07/2015 19:48

My new Exante food packs arrived yesterday so I have been saved from having baked shakes every day. My day went ok, except I had a funsize chocolate bar and a bit of DS1's burger bun. I was starving at dinner time and picked at it before I remembered I wasn't supposed to be eating it.

I love the curries Beyond and I'm really not keen on the bars either except for the choc orange ones and the nutty one. Have you weighed yourself yet to see your progress?

Have you had your thyroid checked Green? It could explain why you are so tired and run down, although the 5 am starts sound like hell on legs.

I'm not going to weigh myself again until Sunday, hopefully some of this weight will have shifted. I tried on my super tight jeans today, so I'll use them as my "Trousers of shame" to see if I can fit in to them in a week or so without the huge rolls of fat pouring over the top.

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 09/07/2015 20:10

I also meant to say I found a recipe for Exante shake biscuit/ball things so I'll make them tomorrow and report back. I cannot drink the shakes, they are too gritty, yet weirdly slimey at the same time, bleurgh!

My friends DH has ordered some and if loses a stone before I do I may murder him. I'm not supposed to know he's doing it as he is slightly mortified at having put on 2 stone in a month (he's changed jobs from very physical to sedentary but hasn't changed his appalling diet).

OP posts:
Racheyg · 11/07/2015 21:01

I hope you guys are all well?

Sorry it's been a crazy few days and it's my ds1 2nd birthday today.

How is the diet going sol?

I lost 2lb this week but today I have eaten appallingly so I really have to work hard in the week????

How is it going beyond?
Are u feeling better green?

BeyondTheSea · 13/07/2015 19:40

Well done on your 2lbs each :)

How was your weigh in Sol?
How are you Green?

My weight on Friday was 11 st 8 (Still 7lbs up on pre holiday weight, so annoying). Unfortunately due to social plans at the weekend, I think the best I can hope for this week is to STS.... I tried to fast today but think will come in at 1000 cals. So I will fast on Wed and Thurs.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 13/07/2015 22:12

I have no weigh in news as it's that TOTM and I can't be arsed stepping on the scales. I think not eating much food and putting on weight would tip me over the edge.

Sorry for the lack of posting, DH left my computer in work and I can't post from my phone as it always freezes.

2 lbs is great Rachey, that's definitely something to be proud of. You should be really happy with that.

Beyond I think some fast days will get you back on track. 1000 cals is hardly a lot anyway. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Hiya I'm new to mumsnet. I've recently become a first time Mother and pretty much got my figure back within 7 weeks. I've also got my baby in a routine (sleeping through the night) without following Gina Ford but using my own routine. If anyone wants any tips add me on Facebook or Instragam- name is Amen Randhawa. I'm just a real woman (lawyer by profession) who doesn't have a dietician, nutritionist or personal trainer but have worked out how us real women can look awesome post birth X

SolitudeSometimesIs · 14/07/2015 20:58

< Ignores Amen2015 and her Superwoman cape because she does parenthood better than all of us Hmm>

I am still on Exante and I am struggling a bit. I would murder a bag of chips.

OP posts:
BeyondTheSea · 14/07/2015 21:33

I might do exante next week, must get down to pre holiday weight.

Have you any celery you could munch on?

SolitudeSometimesIs · 15/07/2015 15:20

Day 6 million of Exante (or maybe it just feels that way). I am terribly hungry and I'm questioning why the hell I'm doing this. Might go wild and crazy and have some carrots or something. I've put on 2 oz since last Wednesday but I know that's TOTM related. There'll be a drop in a day or so.

How much will you have to lose to get to your pre-holiday weight Beyond? It's so hard isn't it? Unless you're Amen from a few posts ago

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 15/07/2015 16:10

Made a bowl of quorn bolognaise (sp?) because I was so hungry and my mood was crap. It's all protein - I didn't have it with pasta - so I don't think it's too bad. Full belly now and plenty of time to burn it off - waaay better than the chocolate bar I wanted. Not going to step on the scales until Saturday morning.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 15/07/2015 20:35

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been missing, just been very busy and not in a dieting mood. I need to get my act together soon.

Well done on your loss Rachey. 2lb is brill. it's my DDs 2nd Birthday this weekend, so I think I'm going to find it difficult.

Step away from the scales Sol, you sound like you're doing really well. Keep going!

Did you do a fast day Beyond? It's so easy to put weight back on isn't it?Sad
I'm angry at myself for putting loads of weight back on. I saw some pictures from Christmas today, next to one from last week and the gain really shows. Plus someone let me off the bus before them last week as they obviously thought I was pregnant. Blush Even more shameful was that they were pregnant.

Greenrabbit · 20/07/2015 09:08

How is everyone getting on?

Weighed myself this morning. It was bad, very bad. Angry. I'm so annoyed at myself.

I had planned to restart Exante today, but I'm still not feeling 100%. Plus we are going away for a few nights next week and I don't think it will be practical.

But the weigh in has shocked me a lot. So I'm aiming for lots of water, no bread, crisps or other rubbish this week.

No wonder non of my clothes fit properly.Blush I have no will power, I'm a disgrace.

Racheyg · 20/07/2015 21:33

Hi all,
its been a crazy few weeks I hope you are all doing well? After my 2lb loss I did lose any last week (but didnt gain) I did eat out twice had 2 deserts and 2 lots of bday cake :)

Green, I hope your DD has a great birthday. Glad your feeling better.

Beyond, did you start exante if so i hope your doing well.

Sol, how are you getting on?

SolitudeSometimesIs · 20/07/2015 21:58

Hi all,

really shit week here. Relative in hospital and general life being dreadful so dieting has been very hit and miss. I had a takeaway and quite a bit of wine, been fairly active though.

I think you should be proud of yourself for not gaining Rachey, especially as you week sounds so food centred.

Don't cry Green and don't struggle in to leggings - buy bigger ones. I am so unhelpful Grin. Are you off anywhere nice next week?

OP posts:
BeyondTheSea · 21/07/2015 19:46

Sorry not been around, BF had some bad news, we've been eating a lot of cake. Dieting gone out of the window ... Can't bare to weigh myself.

Sol -Sorry to here you are having a rubbish week, hope you relative is better soon. Take care of yourself.

Green sounds like a good start, you'll be back to where you were in no time at all.
Well done on not gaining Rach.

I plan on restarting and weigh in next week.

Greenrabbit · 22/07/2015 22:58

Sorry about your bad news Beyond and Sol. I hope both your week's improve Flowers don't worry about dieting.

DD had a great birthday Rachey. I ate lots of cake too (we ended up with 2 parties and cakes!). You've done well on you STS. Just enjoy life with your 2 babies, they grow up too quickly .

I'll have to buy bigger clothes soon Sol if I don't get my act together soon! I'm going to the Northumberland Coast for afew day with my DM and the DCs. We are staying in a caravan! Just for 3 nights. I think food will mainly be M&S ready meals. I'm quite excited. DD is already missing nursery, but is quite lazy so would just do nothing all day if I let her. It's difficult thinking of activities every day. So this will fill in afew days.

I have a diet plan for when I return.
Going to order some more Exante tomorrow while the BOGOF is on. I have lots of shakes, but not much savoury stuff. I'm thinking of getting the curry and rice (is that the nice meal) and some sausage mix. Also more bars.
