Hi, I started on 1st Jan at 18st 10lbs and I have so much to lose, it would be lovely to share my journey with others who have over 6 stones to lose.

I know it's going to be a really long slog and I'll need help staying on the straight and narrow. I have to do it this year, no excuses!

So far I have lost 8.4lbs in first 11 days, but that seems tiny when I've got nearly nine stones to lose altogether. My goal is 10st.

Anyone out there? All buddies welcome Grin

Well done MrsP! Much easier when everything's to hand.i'm a Babybel addict!

Hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day. I was a spoilt girl with two dozen red roses and a card with a lovely poem that made me cry...i'm such a softie Smile last night was great fun....awful comedians, but brilliant Mardi Gras party afterwards until early hours. Slightly fragile this morning, but a BPC has made me feel human again Grin

How was the frock Mrs? Lots of compliments? Hope you rocked it!!

OP posts:
Mrsstevejones · 15/02/2015 19:21

Babybel and pepperoni are my go to snack and fab for bunging in your bag and heading out the door.

The roses and a poem sound lovely. Sending sympathies for the hangover i am also still suffering! I have made bad food choices today so thats any weightloss this week buggered, needless to say i wont be weighing on monday.

I felt amazing in the dress but my shoes nearly crippled me so i had to have several double bacardi and d cokes so i couldnt feel my feet! It worked but i am paying for it today. Stupid bloody shoes caused me to trip and fall over just as we went into the pub. I literally walked thru the door and crashed to the floor in front of everyone! and then a huge bouncer dragged me to my feet - the shame!!! I am also developing a massive bruise on my hip where i landed on it.

Other than that we had a fab night, danced and snogged like a couple of teenagers. I had forgotten how much fun my hubby is to go out with.

I am writing today off and will get back on the wagon tomorrow.

At lunch i wore my ripped jeans and a size 16 phase eight top (ebay) and felt amazing, i did have a bit of a muffin top but stood very straight and breathed in a lot! So i think i have lost 3/4 of a dress size yay

Macloveswill · 15/02/2015 20:42

Aagh you fall sounds just like something I would do. Bet it hurt too bless you, not as much as your pride though! I'm always tripping over or spilling something just at the wrong moment...I feel your pain Mrs.

What a lovely evening you had and how great that you two can still have brilliant fun letting your hair down together too! True love for sureSmile

Don't worry about a one-day slip. Just clamber back on the wagon tomorrow and in a few days the weight will start coming off again. The alcohol definitely seems to slow mine down for a few days anyway, so no real harm done.

I'm not going to be up for much longer, still a tired bear and very ready for an early night. Not a bad day, but did have a bit of a pang watching DD finish off her Thornton's white chocolate snowman....I was sorely tempted to wrestle it out of her hands and eat the bloody lot Grin

Have a great week everyone...I only need to lose 0.1lbs to hit the one and a half stone off mark, so let's do this!

Just caught myself side-on in the bathroom mirror and noticed that the part of my tummy just below my boobs is lots slimmer than it was. I always seem to lose it there first and don't look particularly slimmer elsewhere, apart from double chin almost gone, but there is a real noticeable difference on my upper tum and I have that central indented line thingy back too. That just made me smile Smile

Mrsstevejones · 16/02/2015 19:16

Good for you Mac - baby steps on the way to xmas dress fabulous-ness!

I am back on the wagon today - i havent weighed yet as i dont want to know what damage i have done! I went shopping and stocked up. I was able to keep my falling off to a blip rather than saying sod it and it turning into an avalanche!

Today i had my BPC for breakfast. Then had ham, cheese and mayo as a rushed late lunch. Dinner was sausages, cauli mash, gravy, broccoli and brussels sprouts. I do feel sick now and i havent had nearly enough water.

Its half term this week so all baby classes have stopped and i need to find other stuff to do with them, went to soft play today - urrgghh.

Mrsstevejones · 17/02/2015 09:42

Off to a different soft play today...

B- BPC and a sausage.

One litre of water down so far. I am feeling very positive again and raring to go... bring it on! I am wearing one of my size 16 tops - its a big snug but its on! Yay.

This week i am going to do a beginners spin class, i need to get some exercise in my life. I ordered some gym kit last night as i am too fat for all my old stuff! My trainers were literally falling off my feet. £75 quid later eekk.

I am trying to think about what i can give up for lent (lapsed catholic), was considering MN - after a thread on here but i need the support to keep me on the straight and narrow.

Last yr i decided to do something instead of give something up and i wore eye make up everyday and actually looked like i had eyes! I felt so much better about myself - shallow i know!

This year i might make it my goal to exercise or walk everyday, who is with me?

I need to start planking again, as i seem to have forgotten that i am supposed to be doing that everyday!

Good luck everyone

MrsPnut · 17/02/2015 20:35

Evening, I've managed to keep on it for the last few days. I even made some low carb pancakes even though they were rank. I made a large number of regular pancakes and didn't touch one of them.

Macloveswill · 17/02/2015 21:38

Hey way to go resisting the proper pancakes MrsP! Good to hear you're back on it too.

Mrs, I too hate soft play, but unfortunately all kids seem to love it. I'm resisting so far this half term, but may be ground down before the end of half term! I'm trying to walk everyday that I can, also still avoiding the plank! I promise I'll start it again on Monday.

I'm a bit grizzly as I hate it when my weight loss stops. I'm still the same as I was nearly a week ago! I'm still in ketosis, so I reckon it's either the vodka or the slimline tonic at the weekends that keeps slowing it down, although still TOM...so probably not helping either. I'm away for DH's birthday this weekend too, so really need to find a drink that doesn't slow things down. Any suggestions? I know I'd be better not drinking at all, but I love a drink on a night out and I want life to feel as normal as possible. I don't drink at all the rest of the time, so don't want to be a party-pooper when it comes to socialising. Generally though, it's going well, so I shouldn't fret...it will all come off in the end, as long as I don't give up. Anyone else frustrated at how slowly things are going? Or am I just the most impatient person ever?!

OP posts:
Macloveswill · 18/02/2015 15:50

Still the same on the scales this morning grrr. But trying to ignore my frustration and doing my best to keep on the straight and narrow. I am convinced I'm losing inches though and now wish I'd measured at the beginning. Has anyone else measured? Maybe I should do it now, still relatively near the beginning of a very long journey.

A nice chilled day today....out for some half term fun, then girly trip to the nail salon for a much needed mani/pedi and just brought home some charcuterie (chorizo, prosciutto, salami) and lovely, ripe Brie for a treat for me and DH, whilst DD chose a treat from the cake shop...oh how times have changed! Shock

Now feet up up, nosh, coffee....and relax!

How's it going everyone?

OP posts:
Mrsstevejones · 18/02/2015 16:26

Doing well today - went to the beach with the kiddies and it has strengthened my resolve as summer is coming and i dont want to sweat it out in jeans again!!!

Had bacon and sausage out at a greasy spoon, yum.

On the alcohol front i think if you want to drink you will have to suck up the stall, i think the best thing to drink is vodka with soda water and a slice of lime. I dont drink very often (virtually t total hubby) but i am partial to a bacardi and diet coke.

I weighed today and i am a pound up but after the weekend and all the munching i did last night its not surprising (6 huge truffles - all gone now and ham and cheese and salad cream) i had to go to bed to stop the naughtiness.

I am still feeling unwell but i am starting at the gym tom. My new gym clothes havent arrived yet so i am not sure what i will wear.I have beginners spin class, wish me luck i am going to need it.

I still havent planked .... yet.

Well done on swerving the pancakes everyone - my kids are too small to notice and i am not bothered by them so a non event in this house. Although just realised lent starts today so will need to do my first walk but i think marching along the seafront and into town counts! Doesnt it?

Mac def take measurements, after all its the space you take up not the number that is really important, also you might show a decrease even if scales havent moved. Scales lie anyway as i am tonnes smaller but scales have hardly moved - well not as much as i think they should have!

Macloveswill · 18/02/2015 17:56

Good luck with the spin class Mrs! Yes, the prospect of covering up on the beach this summer is a great motivator! I think you're right about sucking up the stall with the alcohol. I'm going to try switching soda for slimline tonic and see if it improves.

Will dig my tape measure out in the morning (when my tum is at its flattest) and start recording my measurements. My tum does seem incredibly flat though, it just goes to show how much carbs make it bloat!

OP posts:
Mrsstevejones · 18/02/2015 19:19

Def noticed the lack of bloating and resulting flatness in the first few days, i have gone down a bra size - i had to buy more yesterday. I have gone down an inch on my tummy since i started. I am hoping exercise will really speed things up and tone me up - no point in being thin but wobbly!

I am struggling with my water today with it being half term and out of my routine i am not in my usual pattern.

Need to go and dig out my old gym clothes today, quite excited but nervous for tom!

MrsPnut · 18/02/2015 19:53

Good luck with the spin class and great news for flatter stomachs.

I've had a pretty good day today, egg mayo and salami for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch and dinner was mashed swede, Brussel sprouts and chicken and mushrooms with a mustard and creme fraiche sauce. I've also had a pepperami and a baby bel.

Macloveswill · 19/02/2015 09:45

Morning all...how was the spin class Mrs? Hope you're not aching too much tomorrow.

I really fancy trying your mustard and creme fraiche sauce MrsP...sounds delish!

Slightly better news having squeaked over the stone and a half mark this morning. Disappointed with only 1.1lbs off this week though, but a loss is still a loss and it all gets us closer to our goals. Damn just realised I forgot to measure and now out for the day. Will have to do it tom morning.

Walked for 75 mins 3 evenings on the trot this week and trying to go for 5, as long as I don't get home too late.

OP posts:
Mrsstevejones · 19/02/2015 10:01

1 pound a week is 4 stone in a year, thats not to be sneezed at.

I got lots of meat out of the freezer so i can make soup, stew and have bits in for quick meals. I need to go shopping after spin class as out of everything fresh.

I might do pork steaks with broccoli and cauli cheese for dinner tonight. I am also going to chuck some oxtail in the slow cooker to make stew. Aldi have bacon chops on offer at the mo so i might be a bacon and chicken stew type thing - the creme fraiche and mustard sauce sounds nice. I am hungry - can you tell???

I cant fit into any of my gym gear so i am wearing hubbys t shirt! I just look so round - sigh.

Just measure now there wont be much difference and in a few weeks your measurements will be so much less.

Macloveswill · 19/02/2015 18:07

Agreed 4 stone in a year most wouldn't complain, but I have 8 stones 11.6lbs to lose in a year Hmm and I am super impatient Smile but to be fair I will still be delighted if most of it comes off!

Ooh all that food sounds lovely. I went to make the mustard and cream sauce, but realised we didn't have anything but English mustard in, so it was just a creamy mushroom sauce with chicken and salad tonight. I try to eat as early as I can so I don't feel stuffed on my walk at 7pm.

Just done my measurements...they're a bit super huge, but here goes:

Bust = 47"
Waist = 40"
Hips = 48"
Thigh = 29"
Arm = 16.5"

A bit shocked really, but we're only at 7 weeks out of 52, so in the words of a bad D:ream song "things can only get better" Shock

Onwards and downwards!

Evening, we've been to the national space centre in Leicester today. I have decided that I hate other people :o

1lb a week off is better than a 1lb a week on, which is what I seem to have been doing lately.
I had bacon, mushrooms and a fried egg for breakfast and I did have a sandwich for lunch (burgen soy and linseed bread is 10g of carbs per slice) with chicken, cucumber, lettuce, a cherry tomato and Mayo. For dinner I had a massive salad of avocado, olives, salad leaves, spring onion, cucumber, tomato, a small piece of red pepper, some Comte and a chicken breast cooked in nando's medium peri peri marinade. I needed something spicy tonight after watching DH stuff his face at Wetherspoons whilst DD was at her piano lesson and then going into KFC for DD's dinner on the way home.

I'm tucked up in bed now, and am going to read my book for a while.

Hope walking and spinning went well ladies.

Mrsstevejones · 19/02/2015 20:24

Mac your measurements are very similar to mine, we must be the same shape.

I survived spinning - it was hard but i felt great afterwards. I had a tiny swim in the pool and then wallowed in the hot tub. My legs arent sore yet but i expect to wake up in the morning and be barely able to get out of bed!
My kids loved the creche so that eased some of the guilt at palming them off to do something purely for me.

Had a lovely dinner pan fried pork chop with harissa paste, yellow peppers, onion and spinach all cooked up together, was quick and only used one pan!

I have a banging headache today but i think i havent drunk enough and i have sweated too much.

I went food shopping and bought the place out so loads of lovely fresh stuff in. I bought corned beef as its perfect for LCing and i love it but never ate it as too lardy.

rumgy · 19/02/2015 20:33

Hi can I come back ?
I had a hectic couple of weeks but am still plugging away at low carbing and am on a self imposed boot camp from today .
Can I ask a couple of questions ? Do you eat fruit ?
Do you count calories ? I have a terrible snacking habit and have started keeping tabs on exactly what I eat to try to break he mindless snacking habit.

MrsPnut · 19/02/2015 20:59

Hi Rumgy, I don't eat fruit and I don't really count calories although I do log what I eat on myfitnesspal so I can track my carb intake.

I'm snacking less now that I'm in ketosis, and I make sure I have drink first if I think I might be hungry and see if it goes away.

Macloveswill · 19/02/2015 21:01

Haha....MrsP the space centre in half term?! No wonder you hate other people...I can just imagine the chaos! Your food sounds fine, I wouldn't have thought 20g of carbs would hurt.

Mrs....sounds like we're both hourglass wannabes then Wink.....this Christmas!! Well done on the spinning!

Rumgy....of course you're welcome back sweetie, anytime! I do eat fruit, but not lots of it, mainly berries and the odd apple. I never count calories. Might be worth you getting hold of a copy of The idiot proof diet book, written by two journalists who lost 10 stone between them. It's pretty good for getting you on the right track and has some good snack and meal ideas (there's a cook book too). Good luck with bootcamp!

OP posts:
rumgy · 19/02/2015 21:11

I know the idiot proof diet well it was the 1 St low carb book I got a few years ago !
I am leaning toward paleo now hence the fruit question. I just find a piece of fruit an easier snack as I dont like cheese on its own and don't have use of a fridge at work.
mrsP what % carbs do you stick to ? I use MFP and it is great for analysing your food !

Macloveswill · 19/02/2015 21:22

Ah yes....I was reading about Paleo at the weekend. But it restricts dairy doesn't it? Think it sounded too strict for me, as I love dairy and tend to give up if I feel too deprived. How are you finding it?

OP posts:
MrsPnut · 19/02/2015 21:28

I have mine set to 20% carb and 40% each of protein and fat. My carbs are usually closer to 10% though except for today Blush

Mrsstevejones · 19/02/2015 21:30

Hi rumgy- i dont eat fruit, i occasionally have the odd strawberry or raspberry with ff yoghurt - mainly in the summer. I dont count calories and i only really snack if i am not eating enough fat, then i tend to have pepperoni slices with cheese and mayo and a pickled green chilli. I do find i am prone to snacking out of habit - my hubby is out tonight and i used to munch then so drinking water to drown it out.

Def hourglass shaped - my waist has gone down so looking more so, just need to shift the muffin top and saggy tum!

No walking today as i dont think my legs would take it.

The pig to twig books are great, the recipe book is good as well, must read again as i need to increase my collection of recipes.
