Hi everyone

I have lost one pound this week, 2 if I count the one I was showing up last week. Thats 6 pound so far

As an aside, my ds's glands on the left of side of his face are really enlarged, anyone else had this with their children, should I take him to the docs, is there anything they can do about it? He is quite warm but not boiling but is very clingy and lying down a lot which is unlike hm.

lornaloo · 16/11/2006 10:52

Yes I'd take him to the doctors, he may need penicillin for it.
Well done on the loss Mrs Fish over half way there.

loopity · 16/11/2006 10:55

hi mrs fish
Well done

Sorry to hear your ds still poorly - wouid your gp be able to take a quick look at him today if you're worried? Can't remember any of mine ever having noticeably swollen glands but I am really prone to tonsilitis and this is one of the symptoms.

I thought I join you, can't stand the idea of having a New Year feeling miserably after stuffing myself all November, December. I don't think I stuff myself, but according to the scales it must be. This year I want to make a difference and feel great at the beginning of 2007. Having kids makes weightloss so much harder, the only way to keep me from eating is having nothing in the house, but that's rather impossible with 3 kids. Does anybody feel the same?

A friend has recommended this coffee, which apparently reduces blood sugar levels and that should then reduce the fat being absorbed or similar. I think one should drink a cup after every meal. Has anyone heard or tried this yet? I think it is called coffee slender? I would love to hear from anyone who has heard of it.

I would really love to try and find something, which does not make me count calories etc. and still let me enjoy food, obviously when eating sensibly!

loopity · 16/11/2006 11:12

Hi weimaranerlover, welcome aboard

Good day to start as Thurs is weigh-in day so you can start afresh into new week with us!

No particular system on here, we just try not to eat (and drink) too unhealthily. Encourage each other when good and nag when bad! Share tips etc. Haven't heard of that coffee stuff before, maybe someone else has?

Mrs Fish - keep us up to date about the wee one, hope he's better soon

He's been asleep for an hour, I need to wake him up though as it is nursery this afternoon... am I a bad mother still sending him? Its just that I have a pampering afternoon all booked and I don;t want to miss it as we are away for the weekend for a black tie do and I want to look my best. I'll just get them to call me if he is really poorly later... I don't think the swollen glands are particularly bothering him, just making him feel 'off'. Can't get him into the docs till tomorrow morning, but seeing as he has had it for a couple of days already I don't think another night will change much.

Now I feel a bad mother

MrsFish · 16/11/2006 12:37

Phoned docs again, got him an appointment for 5.30, so I'll take him to nursery, but will pick him up early. Not quite sure how much of it he is putting on to get picked up and cuddled all the time

costababe · 16/11/2006 12:54

hope your lo is feeling better soon, Mrs Fish, enjoy your pampering!
Well have not lost even an ounze this week, but on the positive side neither have I put on!!
Food wise I think I am doing alright looking back over my food diary I have only fallen off the bread wagon once in a month, all snacks are generally dried fruit and fresh fruit, do have a few glasses of wine a week tho, maybe I need to cut down? now feeling down.. no bread, cakes, biscuits and no wine! help!

lornaloo · 16/11/2006 14:09

Poor thing, its horrible having swollen glands. I used to get it alot and its really unpleasant.
Im off out christmas shopping with my mum later. Its late night shopping tonight. I think im going to treat myself to some new clothes.
Welcome WL. I haven't heard of the coffee either. Although I've read that caffine makes you store fat round your middle. I've also heard black coffee speeds up your metabalism.
Maybe you should buy some and tell us all how it goes.

lornaloo · 16/11/2006 14:13

Maybe you will lose more next week costababe.
Im going alcahol free untill christmas. I think it was 3 weeks ago now that I last drank. Feeling better for it.

loopity · 16/11/2006 15:29

Enjoyed my walk this morning and added 4000 steps to my pedometer (which I can't find now because ds2 keeps taking it off my waistband to play with it!)

Mrs fish - have a nice afternoon - very envious, pampering session sounds brill

Pampering session was great

Took ds to the doctors at 5.30... he has tonsilitous, poor lamb and an infected finger so he is on two lots of penicillin. Hopefully that will sort him out.

Today's food

Brekkie - 2oz cornflakes with hot water and a sprinkling of half spoon sugar

Lunch - 1 crumpet and gold, 2 biscuits, special K Bliss bar.

Dinner - Breaded cod, with spinach, roasted new potatoes and broccolli and carrots, ketchup.

time of typing this - 5347 steps - 2.53miles - 289 cals burned - not too bad considering I was in the salon for 3 hours and sat with ds this morning.

MrsFish · 16/11/2006 19:44

Where are you dislexicicecream? Hope everything is ok with you and yours xx

costababe · 16/11/2006 21:38

How am I doing.

mumtogusnalbie · 16/11/2006 22:12

Hi everyone, good news - I have lost 3lbs this week - mostly due to being away at the weekend.
Children in Need tomorrow at work so probably loads of cakes but will try to be good next week.
Lindsey

lornaloo · 16/11/2006 22:17

I'd say you're under the limit Costababe. As long as there wasn't any sour cream on those fajitas, and not too much cheese.
Today I have eaten
Breakfast- Banana and 2 satsumas.
Mid morning- w/m pitta with low fat flora and brewers yeast.
Lunch- Another pitta filled with left over chilli.
Dinner-White egg Pasta with mushrooms in a butter and garlic sauce (was out for dinner with my mum). Focaccia with the meal, dipped in the butter sauce.
Bad bad bad.
Had a really nice time out shopping with my mum. Felt really festive. Got a few pressies for my cousins. It was nice. Love going late night shopping at christmas time, its nice seeing the lights and decos.
Well done snorkle, whats your secret? You haven't posted your food on here each night so we cant copy...

lornaloo · 16/11/2006 22:18

Well done Lindsey. Whats your secret?
My aim this week, lose more than a pound .

mumtogusnalbie · 16/11/2006 22:23

Hi Lornaloo - I'm sure the only reason I have lost this week is because I went away for a couple of days with my estranged husband and kids and I was on edge most of the time so couldn't eat much.
This week I am determined to do more exercise so will hopefully keep up the good momentum.
Lindsey

costababe · 16/11/2006 22:26

lornaloo, I was realy good, no salsa, no sour cream, no cheese just chicken and onion and loads of peppers!!I nee to cut down on tea and coffee during the day, must have about 6 cups with s smilk and 1.5 sugars!!
