mummydoc · 15/11/2006 12:27

ooohh i love baby weight chats dd1 was 4Lb 4 oz at 35 weeks and dd2 was 9 lBs at 42 weeks - hence the emergency c/s and hysterectomy ( well not exactly her fault of course...) all my tiny baby clothes didn't fit such a porker...

costababe · 15/11/2006 12:34

hi there, mummydoc, I am feeling crappy and bloaty today, af due any day, we need to think positive, if we have one bad day, so what! balanced with the rest of the week being good and trying to put any type of exercise in will help, there have been really good ideas for exercise on here previously, dancing around to the tweenies music video being the one that made me laugh the most, but it worked and was a great mood lifter Pedometers, I think they are all buying them from boots, Ive got one but it keeps resetting itself so I dont seem to be doing more than about 200 steps a day, now that cant be right!!

mummydoc · 15/11/2006 12:41

thanks costa - will get dd1 pop party dvd out this evening wiht her and instead of homework we will do a bit dancing - she and i could do with cheering up.

lornaloo · 15/11/2006 12:45

Dont worry md, there is still time to get back on track. I always find if I dont eat very much during the day I tend to binge eat at night. Maybe if you make sure you have a good breakfast and a good luch and a smaller dinner you might find it easier not to snack.
Wow 4lb 4 and 9lb. Bet it was 2 very different expiriences.
I think going christmas shopping tomo is a very good idea. It'll help cheer you up. Maybe you could treat yourself to something.

loopity · 15/11/2006 14:44

Mummydoc - come on we can do it! Even if we're not losing heaps of weight every week, at least we're not piling it on for xmas instead(Although I did have 2 slices of leftover birthday cake for my lunch - not good )

I find it really hard to be good sometimes as well - evenings are my downfall - tea and toast or wine and crisps.

We need some strategies, hmmm... anyone any ideas? Liked texasrose's £1 in a jar, any more...

BTW- my pedometer from boots online £9.99 - counts steps, cals and distance

We could also set each other exercise challenges eg at least 30 mins exercise everyday, even if it is just going mad doing the housework with some music blasting, or dancing with the Tweenies. Or do 10,000 steps a day. Are you a member of a gym mummydoc? if so, we could promise to go on at least a certain amount of days to e.g. swim or go on the treadmill for say 30 mins or more.

Another tip - log onto mumsnet in the evening after you put to kids in bed. Even if no-one's around on this thread, reading through the others will keep you occupied and out of the kitchen!

i am liking you all sooo much , particularly the suggestionof mumsnet in the evening to get away from fridge ! and buy myself something while christmas shopping - just not a mince pie!!! feel better now, and yes am member of lovely health club, so in revenge for dh trip away i am going tonight to swim and will leave him wiht kids/puppy and school uniforms to sort out ...hurrah , a plan i feel better all ready!

mummydoc · 15/11/2006 15:18

lornaloo , yes it was very different having such a whopper after a tiny first baby, dd1 didn't make 9lbs until she was 3 months, she used to wear babyborn clothes, dd2 wouldn't have got one chubby thigh into them ! and i had been convinnced that i would have an even earlier baby so 42 weeks seemed to last a lifetime.. but love them both to bits obviously.

loopity · 15/11/2006 15:25

Enjoy your gym trip tonight mummydoc- think I might go myself after kids to bed, maybe for a swim and spa pool - then can take as long as I want to get changed, do hair, have a coffee etc, as opposed to the minute or two I have in the mornings before school run.

I obsess over my stomach everyday, I dont think I will ever be happy with it.
Ugh why dont they have a bloody cure for stretchmarks and saggy skin..... and .

MrsFish · 15/11/2006 21:49

How on earth do you drink 4 litres of water in a day???? I struggle to drink one.. mind you that is one and also cups of tea

mumtogusnalbie · 15/11/2006 22:35

evening everyone, sorry haven't posted for a couple of days but have just been away with estranged husband and kids for 2 nights in Hastings.
Had a really good time and even better, because I am always a bit nervous when away from home, I couldn't eat very much so maybe tomorrows weigh in might bring some good news.
Have been really rubbish again today with food because back at work.
1 x Special K bar for breakfast
1 x toasted tuna and cheese panini for lunch
chicken chop suey, egg fried rice & sweet & sour sauce for dinner
snacks - 5 rich tea biscuits, 3 small chocolates and 4 malted milk biscuits.
No exercise today because left the house this morning at 7 to get kids to Dads house, went to work, got home from Dads house at 7.30pm and made 18 jars of blackberry jam for Children in Need craft stall at work on Friday.
Sat down at 10.15pm with a cup of tea and the biscuit box - really bad I know but absolutely no will-power in the evenings.
Good luck for weigh in tomorrow everyone!!

lornaloo · 15/11/2006 22:48

I fill up a 2 liter bottle with tap water in the morning, and sip it every couple of minutes. Then if I finish it early enough theres time for another. I wee loads though, its quite anoying but good too.
Forgot its weigh in tomo.

loopity · 16/11/2006 09:37

Morning everyone

mumtogusnalbie - busy day yesterday, very impressed by the jam-making!

Weigh-in - I have lost 0.5lb - prob the half pound that I put on last week so that's 5lbs in total - half way there
