Hi everyone

Welcome back from hols, mummydoc - think you did really well weight-wise seeing you were away. Hope you had a nice time.

Just to echo what DIC said - well done everyone whether loss or stayed the same. It's only our third weigh-in and I think we're doing mighty fine !

Good news at the loopity household - not only did the toddler sleep through the night for the first time, he actually took his first steps on his own today too when we were at the park this afternoon. Thought he was never going to take off (he's 21 mths on Sunday).

Anyway, back to today's food diary

Breakfast - toasted bagel

Lunch - shared salmon and philly light bagel with dd (all bagels done now thank goodness - almost as bad as the scones the week before)

Dinner - Out for tea with dh and kids, chicken fillet, salad and mayo, nicked a few fries from the wee ones' plates, bread roll

Now - having glass of bubbly to celebrate ds2's first steps

Snacks - packet of quavers

Just read that diary back - doesn't look too good today plus sorry for such a long post!

dislexicicecream · 02/11/2006 22:48

hiya loop cool that your little one walked im happy for u,

it was our treet for being good all week and we used to get straght back on diet the next day

BIGlilBUBU · 02/11/2006 23:31

Whats slimming world like? Is it simular to weight whatchers? Just had a go on the dance mat. Its good, im just putting some of my own songs on there.

dislexicicecream · 02/11/2006 23:59

putting your own songs on there??? did u bye the dance factorey game??? if u did i want to know alllll about it cos im thinking of gettting it for me

dislexicicecream · 03/11/2006 00:12

ive never done weight wachers, with slimming world u basicly follow one plan or the other one is prity much carb based the other is proteen im vegitarian so always the carb one for me unlimited pasta, rice, veg,
i did it for about a year and lost 3 stone so it dose work well, and i keeped it off easy just having babe that made me gaine a bit now but even after having him i wasnt anywhere close to as big as i was when i first did slimming world.

BIGlilBUBU · 03/11/2006 09:18

Sounds good...unlimited pasta!!I like the sound of that. What are the basic rules then on the carb one?
Yes its the dance factory one. You can put tour own cd's on it and it simulates a dance routine for each song on the cd your put in. Im not sure whether the songs save on there or whether you need the cd each time, but i know you get an option to save the routine to the songs. If you know what I mean.

dislexicicecream · 03/11/2006 10:23

mummydoc · 03/11/2006 11:23

thanks for hte welocme back , went to cornwall ( dd1 aged 7 and dh aged 40 ish and DF ( darling father) aged well past 60 all mad keen surfers - i would rather have been in the caribbean but hey the sacrifices we make for our families hence weight gain due to hot chocolate on beach and wine galore in the evenings and lotsof fish and chips ( though not a penny spent in any rick stein establishment!) i guess that gives away where we were ! today coffeee ++++ but all with slim milk and canderel.

loopity · 03/11/2006 11:46

Morning all

That dancemat workout thingy sounds really good fun - ds2 will prob get ps2 for xmas, he's uses his dad's old one from about 10 years ago at the moment. I still have to get my pedometer too - will check boots again.

Trip sounds lovely mummydoc - I love walking along the beach all wrapped up from the cold, fish and chips with loads of vinegar always tastes scrummy outdoors, glass of guiness in the pub (have gone off in a daydream...)

OP posts:
mummydoc · 03/11/2006 11:52

it was lovely trip, i love the beach even when weather not so good, have just been reading about the baby who died after being abused by mother's boyfriend ( thread futher down) and looking at all the new pic of my 2 on the beach in the sunshine looking happy, fit and healthy made me cry, but have resisted cheering up wiht chocolate biscuit...more info needed about damce mat thingy - we have ancient ps thingy which could dig out do you buy a game with a mat or what ?? ps think bike riding wiht 2 year old in baby seat very good exercise my bum is still sore from the camel trail ride ( 10 1/2 miles !!!)

BIGlilBUBU · 03/11/2006 12:39

I cant read things like that, it mades me really upset for ages and quite depressed at the thought that there are people out there like that. My dp has a terrible habbit of telling me horrible things he reads in the paper, i'd rather not know.
Im not sure if they do the dancing game on the old playstation or not. Ours is the ps2 I think (its dps). You just buy the game and the mat comes with it. I think theres a few different ones.
Dislexicicecream, yes it had the workout mode on it and the calerie counter. Im going to go on it in a min.
Its a really nice day today, really blue sky and no wind just crisp and cold. Really fresh. Makes me feel christmasy.
I really want a pedometer, i just havnt seen one anywhere. I need to go to a big boots i think or of course argos. Either that or I could order one I suppose.

loopity · 03/11/2006 12:54

Never thought of ordering the pedometer online - am off to the boots website - thanks Blb!

Really need to get off the computer and do some housework, burn some cals at same time

OP posts:
loopity · 03/11/2006 13:12

Have done my shopping - ordered the £9.99 that does the cal count

BIGlilBUBU · 03/11/2006 14:00

Well done loopity I think i'll do the same.
Mummydoc I just read that thread, I should'nt of. I did the same as you, I started to cry and went up to ds room, who was ment to be napping and had a big cuddle. He's 14months old so a simular age to that poor baby. Oh its just horrible, its put me in a funny mood now. I feel sad .
Whats everyone been doing today? I took a walk down into the village this morning, went to the coop and got some cheese for the lasagne im making tonight. Then had a walk through the park past the duck pond on the way back. It was really nice. I was really cold when I left the house and boiling hot when I got back. It a nice day today, sunshining.
My glands are up though, got an ap with gp later this afternoon.

loopity · 03/11/2006 14:45

I'm not up to much except housework today - got the cd player in the kitchen blasting out ABBA's greatest hits and dancing like a loon while I polish! Lovely day here too - crisp and autumnal, might go for a walk in a while.

OP posts:
loopity · 03/11/2006 14:47

Hope you feel better soon Blb - sore throats are horrible

OP posts:
mummydoc · 03/11/2006 14:52

am at work seeing hte sore throats hahahh... but am going to bonfire party with dd1 tonight - should be fun. i love waving sparklers aorund. feel quite pleased managed to go to shop for lunch and chose low fat sandwhich and pkt of crisp that only had 4 gms of fat and an orange, total fat grams for lunch 7 and calories about 400 but bad as ate bread - don't normally allow myself that as makes me very sleepy in th afternoon, might nod off between sore throats! actually i did that once while pregnant with dd2 nodded off in my chair while patient was talking ....

BIGlilBUBU · 03/11/2006 15:03

Mummydoc, I went into the chemist earlier to see if they had anything for my glands but he said i would need penecilin(really dont know how to spell that) booked an ap for later today but my throats not hurting as much as earlier, do you reckon I could cancel the appointment and it might ease off?

BIGlilBUBU · 03/11/2006 15:05

Sounds like fun loopity.
Lol falling asleep!!What did the patient make of that?

MrsFish · 03/11/2006 17:06

Time to update, can't think why I didn't manage to post #last night.

Yesterday - Brekkie, 1oz porridge and water, 1 crumpet and lf spread.

snack - very thin slither of choc cake

Lunch - Vegetable soup, 1 and a half slices of w/m toast and lf spread

Dinner - 2oz pasta (dry weight) peppers, 1 rasher of bacon and a tomato and bacon sause (jar)

Didn't do hardly any walking yesterday, had to wait in for a delivery which didn't come till 4pm

MrsFish · 03/11/2006 17:11

Today - Ds was up at 6.30 this morning which is very unusual for him, so up early for me too.

Did a pile of ironing, gave him brekkie, got dressed, then we went outside as I needed to do a bit of gardening (till he started whining and running off all the time) He seemed tired so put him back to bed at 9.30, he slept till 11.30.

Came in, baked some cookies, for the workmen (having garage and extension built)

Then took some old clothes to charity shop, went a walk to the park with ds, then sainsbury's then on the way back stopped at a friends for a cuppa, got back home 4pm for his tea, so a busy day today, still only managed 5,000 steps though

MrsFish · 03/11/2006 17:14

Sorry for the babble, haven't even talked food yet today

Brekkie - 2 crumpets and lf spread

Lunch - choc cake and two cookies that I made

Snack - slim a soup, half a banana cause I was starving

Out for an INdian tonight with the girls, not sure what to have yet, according to my book a veggie curry and boiled rice is the lowest calorie option. Also said I would drive to save alcohol temptation

loopity · 03/11/2006 19:10

Hi everyone - I'm just waiting for family to arrive for get together tonight - about 15 coming! We normally all do a dish each but have decided to take it easy tonight and order a huge selection of chinese takeaway. Will try to be good - veggie dish and boiled rice prob. But will be having a few G&T's and maybe glass of wine.

Have spent all afternoon doing housework - so hopefully have "earned" a few cals. Will prob end up dancing about the place later as well

So far today - breakfast - slice of toast
lunch - mushroom soup, 3 slices bread and butter
coffee break during cleaning frenzy - mars light (is that what you call the crispy ones?!)

Have a nice evening everyone - I'm off to pour a gin

loopity · 03/11/2006 19:13
