I have only just joined Mums Net, this morning in fact, but really need to drop some weight. No energy or motivation. So joining a group that can help with support and motivation would be fantastic.

My baby girl is 5 1/2 months and need to lose 20 lbs. I have lost a bit, but back at work now which is reinforcing my desire to get back to pre-baby size if not shape.

hi lilyput
and welcome

BIGlilBUBU · 23/10/2006 14:35

Welcome aboard lily. We do a food diary each night of everything we've eaten that day, and we have a weigh in on thursdays. We dont tell our actual weight we just say how much we've lost.
Im trying to cut out bread this week, to see if it makes a difference in energy weight loss...ect... I think dic is trying to do no bread too. Hows it going by the way dic?
Im at my mums house with ds at the moment because its alot bigger than mine he doesnt get as bored as at home. He's been running around like a maniac!!

loopity · 23/10/2006 19:25

Hello everyone, welcome lilyputt

Today's diary
Breakfast - none again - seriously need to get more organised
Lunch - piece of toast, cup of tea
Dinner - chicken Royale, handful of fries and diet coke - took the kids to burger king for special treat after good reports at parent-teacher interviews today

Sweetheart - sounds like a good weekend -
I reckon if you stay on the straight and narrow until thursday you might still be okay - don't starve yourself to make up, just increase the exercise and get back to the healthy food. Anyway, after stress of last week I think you and dh deserved couple of nights on the tear!

dislexicicecream, not it wasn't me doing slimming world. I am very sugar sensitive so I try to avoid that if I can although just about every diet means you do.

I feel best with 3 meals a day so I try to stick to that. Today so far... breakfast usual (which is 2 poached eggs, bacon and a spoon of brown rice); lunch brown rice (I do like it by the way and I am intolerant to yeast so bread is not a good choice for me), tin of tuna and 2 carrots; grapes; 2 apples. Snack - bad - 2 large chocolate coins from Caffe nero. (PMT) Dinner, fried chicken with rice and also spinach. Apple.

BIGlilBUBU · 23/10/2006 20:44

xenia am impressed with the amount of brown rice you eat. Very good for you. Much better than bread. Im cutting bread out this week.
Todays food diary
Breakfast wheatabix with ssmilk
Lunch none
Dinner tuna pasta bake
Snacks grapes
I had dinner at my mums so the pasta was white pasta. None happy with today. I dont like to skip meals and I dont like eating white carbs. Brown pasta tastes much nicer imo and makes me feel less quilty. My stomachs so swollen from it, I look like im 4months pregnant. Im going to try and plan out what im going to eat tomo....not sure yet, will have to think about that one.

BIGlilBUBU · 23/10/2006 20:52

Dic just saw your post about the cleaning, must have missed that somehow earlier. I dont have any tweenies dvds no, i might get one. Or ive got sky so kids channels might do. I agree cleaning is a workout, it doesnt take me long to clean my house top to bottom as its only small but im sweaty after. Ive got wooden floor in my living/dining room so crums are very noticable, I have to hoover at least 2 times a day.
I ended up taking ds round my mums today as its alot bigger than my house, he can run around and explore. My mum and brother decided to take him for a walk while i lazed around at my mums, they got caught in the rain. So glad I didnt go with them. Ment to be no rain tommorrow so make the most of it because I think theres rain for the reat of the week.

dislexicicecream · 23/10/2006 22:50

for my food today,
breakfast (kind of late) crunchy bran ss milk
lunch veg stew (left overs)and 1 club i needed it!
dinner baked potato beans and a bit of calslaw!
and i did manege to keep clear of bread today !!! probaly why i needed the club bar at lunch time though lol. as for water well i didnt manege any where near 2 LTRS i had 2 cups, will try harder on that one tomoro,
if u bye tweenies vidio try to get the one i had it was like a mix vidio with all there songs and dances on it, me and the kids used to do that it was a killer lol they r older now and one isnt old enough to do with them so i have moved on to the play station 2 and the dance mat games, i shuld be getting a new one in post any day now fingers crossed, the dance mat games r relllly hard work phisicly and mentaly lol, who said computer games made fat kids? lol
anyways, dunno wats up with me today, i was strangly late getting up and seem to be having a second perriod for this mounth! toled my dp (he lives in italy) he wants me to go to the doctors, im not sure if i shuld or not what do u all think? baby is 4 1/2 mounths old, had coil put in when he was 8 weeks, and have been doing alot of pelvic floor exersises, not in any pain,
do u think i need to go doc? or is DP just panicing?

BIGlilBUBU · 23/10/2006 23:12

I would of thought periods would be iregular at the beggining. I didnt get a period for a year, thats beacause I was breastfeeding though. See how you feel, maybe go to set your dp mind at rest. If not wait untill next month, if things go back to normal then things are probably ok.

MrsFish · 23/10/2006 23:12

HI Folks, I'm a couple of days behind as I have been out two nights on the trot and have been busy in the day, so not had chance to check in.

So Yesterday

1 wholemeal toast and marmite, 5 morning coffee biscuits

Carrot soup, 1 white (small) bread roll and low fat spread

half a teacake & lfs, handful of grapes

Out for dinner - Had roast beef, 2 roast potatoes, yorkshire pud and veg.

Was driving so no alcohol and no starter or desert, I impressed myself

TODAY

Half wholemeal toast with lfs (really must cut this out, it is the leftover of ds brekkie)
2 weetabix with hot water so it goes all mushy and a sprinkling of halfspoon sugar.

Made the mistake of making jam tarts for ds, ending up eating quite a bit of the pastry

2 white rolls with lfs, half a choc classic bar

Out for dinner again...
shared a starter with dh - 1 loaded potato skin, 2 onion rings, followed by tuna nicoise salad. Driving again so no alcohol.

I really must triple my water intake, tend to drink tea and fanta zero which can't be good.

Today has been my worst day in two weeks for snacking, must get back in control tomorrow.

My ds was poorly today too. Went to visit his granny and he didn't really eat much tea, was niggling a bit all afternoon, and was looking really tired, got him home and he threw up all over us both and I mean covered. HAd his bottle and went to bed ok though the babysitter said, hopefully he will be alright tomorrow.

BIGlilBUBU · 23/10/2006 23:16

My ds has had tummy bug too, he hasnt been able to keep down any milk. I've been giving juice instead.

dislexicicecream · 23/10/2006 23:25

i was breast feeding but my perriods came back just 4 weeks after i had him anyway. then stoped feeding him cos there was no way i could keep up with him he wasnt settleing or anything so turnd to powder, had to start feeding solids at 3 mounth to keep up with him even then,
i relly hate going to the doctors, and it will be a night mare with all 3 kids, i just toled DP that will call and talk to doc tomoro if still bleeding,
to be honest i am a little worried my coil did something bad cos the pelvic floor exersises but i think thats just my imagination on over time right?
sorry that your little one is sick mrs fish, theres lots of it going round this time of year, my dd has a birthday party tomoro so will probaly be my turn to have sick kids in few days lol.

sweetheart · 24/10/2006 09:41

Had a good day yesterday
Breakafast - nothing
Lunch - ww soup and 2 slices of bread
Dinner - Curry and rice with 2 pompadoms and a ww rice pudding.
I think I had 2 cups of tea too.

Food was ok but no gym visit which I normally do on a monday - I just can't get there as dh is late home with work because of the accident so I have the kids. Will probably be the same all week as he is now very behind as he had to have a couple of days doing reports for the H&S people!

I probably should drink more water actually as I really don't drink much at all.

Today I am taking dd to the cinema so I plan on skipping breakfast and having some popcorn for lunch. Not very sensible I know but I can't resist the treats at the cinema!

We are going swimming tomorrow and then out for dinner and on Thur we are going out for the day - I think I might make a packed lunch, not very exciting but much less naughty!

Glad to hear everyone else is keeping on track. Dh is away on a stag weekend this weekend so I'm having some friends over to stay - probably lots more wine and a takeaway! God - you know I'd be supermodel thin if it wasn't for bloody weekends!

dislexicicecream · 24/10/2006 09:55

BIGlilBUBU · 24/10/2006 15:30

Dont worry Lily after about 2 days on your diet you'll stop getting as hungry. You'll shrink your appetite abit. The more you eat the more your appetite grows and visa versa. Just try eating smaller portions. Fill up on water instead

MrsFish · 24/10/2006 15:48
