hiya
got an idea lipsbite, could u swich out bread for crumpets?
just looked at the packet and they seem to be a hell of alot lower on fat and cals,
could put something on them like light philly or light cheese triangles?

dislexicicecream · 20/10/2006 13:49

mrs fish, it is funny how bread seems sooo hard to give up but when u do and then have some its not grate, i noticed that 2 with my lunch yesterday, it was more an effort to eat it than anything.

sweetheart · 20/10/2006 14:32

Hi all - well I'm having a good day so far - I've only had 2 slices of toast and 2 cups of tea. I was going to an indoor play place today so I waited until 11am for my brekfast to resist the temtation to eat whilst I was there and it worked!

Whoever had kfc as far as takeaways go KFC is one of the best you can eat. Whan I was doing ww I could actually eat a 2 peace kfc meal within my points for the day! It's not that bad at all!!!!

I am going out tonight and after the trauma of the last couple of days I am looking forward to having a drink and letting my hair down. I am going to eat before I go so I resist the temptation to pick whilst I'm there and whoever was talking about alcohol calories - It's better to have a Vodka and diet coke than a glass of wine - about half the calories!

On ww a vodka and diet coke is 1 point but a small glass of wine is 2.5 - just to give you an idea.

Hello to the new people - you've taken the first step - now lean on us for support and we'll need you too!

lipsbite · 20/10/2006 14:35

oh yes bread is defo hard to give up - does bread makes you put weight on? as ive never dieted in my life before and im 31. Well if i swap for bread for crumpets ill end up eating about 4 for my brekkie and by the end of the day it be all gone!! ..ill cut down on the bread and see what happens

costababe · 20/10/2006 15:46

Hi, is it too late to join in? I had about 13lb to lose, have lost 4lb ok, but am just not loosing any more, I have a wedding to go to in about5 weeks and just would like to shift at least another 4lb before then, how hard can this be!!!
I try to eat healthy, but its this sort of time I start craving chocolate, i must resist... so your support and having to fess up what I am eating would be great.

loopity · 20/10/2006 16:00

Not too late, welcome costababe

First weigh-in was yesterday so we're really only just starting still. Glad to have you on board.

I've just eaten 4 malteasers thought I'd better come on here and name and shame myslef to stop me eating the rest of the packet!

MrsFish · 20/10/2006 16:25

Welcome costababe

I have relented and had a choc hobnob out the cupboard, resisted all week, but I have been good today so I don't begrudge it.

A little of what you like has got to be good for the mood as long as you don't overdo it

loopity · 20/10/2006 19:02

The food diary for today
Breakfast - tea, toast and a banana
Lunch - ham sandwich, apple and 2 choc biscuits with cup of tea
Dinner - will be chinese takeaway once kids to bed and can eat in peace - chicken, veg and boiled rice and maybe glass or two of wine, lots of water

Not overly happy with today, no exercise either. Will try harder tomorrow - want to cut down on the bread, anyone any ideas, especially for breakfast, as I'm not really a cereal person although I will eat porridge.

Today

Brekkie - 2 w/m toast and low fat spread, 2 cups tea

Lunch - Homemade carrot and coriander soup

Snack - 1 choc hobnob, 2 morning coffee biscuits

Tea - braising steak with carrots, leek, cabbage, 1 small potato (boiled)

2 glasses red wine (needed as feeling very depressed and tearful suddenly)

BIGlilBUBU · 20/10/2006 20:16

Todays been terrible too.
I went to the baby show. It was quite good. But ended up having ham and cheese sarny with ketle chips. For breakfast I had 2 slices of wholemeal with brewers yeast. I had no semi skimmed milk in the house, just full fat for ds so couldnt have my usual. But its amazing how bread triggers off cravings. It doesnt fill you up for long either.

Soz to post twice! PC had a blip!

Judy1234 · 20/10/2006 20:28

Bread... I found I was yeast intolerant so had to give up bread and most alcohol. I haven't lost weight but I feel better. White bread can lead to cravings. I tend to eat brown rice or potatoes.

Reasonable day - bacon, poached eggs and little bit of rice for breakfast. Lunch pork chop, lots of veg, boiled new potatoes in skins (avoided the pudding). Snack - apple. Lots of water and herbal tea. Dinner we had roast chicken and I had spinach and brown rice with that and then 3 bananas - not so good.

MrsFish · 20/10/2006 20:28

Hi goshme - we have just started our second week, so you haven't missed much.

Main tactics are to enter what you have eaten every day on here, and we have a weigh in on thursday, other than that, use us as a support group whenever you need
