Nice one Tessie Grin

2kidsintow · 20/09/2014 22:31

Obviously, moaning on an internet forum was the way to go. I woke up 1.5lb down. :)

May have undone my good work by going to a Macmillan coffee morning and eating cake this morning and by having pancakes this evening though.

I did get out for a walk and hopped on the exercise bike for a bit, but it's not been the best day.

Lucked · 21/09/2014 10:11

Wow so many of you are going so well, it's so motivating. Well done everyone.

I have had a week off as I started back at work so have been a bit stressed. I have maintained my 7lb weight loss which is an achievement in itself. I am off on holiday in a fortnight and want to lose 5lbs before then so back to scarsdale tomorrow I think. Actually looking forward to it.

StairsInTheNight · 21/09/2014 13:12

I come to report on slim and save progress- have lost 10lbs so far this month. That was by a couple weeks of ww to start, then a week where I shifted nothing, then on Friday I panicked and started slim and save. Since Friday morning I have lost 4lbs. I am now 12st exacly. Only four more stone to go. Previously I found I lost a pound a day on s&s so going to carry it on as long as possible. Then back to ww which will seem like luxury after this.

Bit saddened to realise that my healthy weight range starts at 8st 10- but I will get there by April I reckon.

Keep going everyone!

WyrdByrd · 21/09/2014 21:48

Thoroughly pissed off with it all tonight.

In spite of only eating normally for 2 days in the last 6, and 2 days of nil by mouth, my weight hasn't moved at all.

I've a cupboard full of my favourite comfort foods which I now don't want to eat, but I'm not in the mood to go back to salad & fat free yoghurt & I can't do any exercise.

My stomach looks like road kill - 6 keyhole & I c-section scar. Still seems swollen from Tuesday's op when they also discovered that my c-section scar has herniated so is causing extra lumpiness.

Friend has posted pics on FB of her amazing body change in the last 3 months - only 8lb lost but looks about 3 stone in the latest selfie - post accompanied by 63 'oh you're so marvellous' comments and even my DH has liked it.

2kidsintow · 21/09/2014 22:00

Be kind to yourself for a bit, wyrd.

I've reviewed my mfp for the past week and I know that I could have done better.

I vow to do better this week (slightly interrupted by afternoon tea on Thurs pm with my sister before she goes off to Vegas).

TheHoundsBitch · 21/09/2014 22:03

I have been useless over the last week :( trying to find my motivaton again and I'm scared to weigh myself Grin

WyrdByrd · 21/09/2014 22:05

I know I'm being a moany old bitch.

I really like the friend in question & have no problem with DH cheering on her on - we have been mates with her & her DH for nigh on 20 years and the blokes knew each other from school.

It's just shitty timing.

FavadiCacao · 22/09/2014 14:57

Step away from the cupboard, Byrd! Your body is just trying to heal, you might not see any changes next week either but then the weight will just fall off. :)

Hounds and Byrd, a month of dieting is a long time; we are bound to stall, regress, fall off the wagon and lose motivation at times. I lost the ~35 kgs in stages to save/restore sanity and learnt how to re-motivate myself along the way.
I felt quite down yesterday, my motivational 'event', had come and gone and I needed something new to spur me on. Took DH shopping with me (love his critique!) for a pair of interim skinny, clingy, unforgiving jeans. They look good and they act as a reminder to the effort I've already put in and being stretchy can shrink with me.

flightywoman · 22/09/2014 21:26

I had such a shitty week last week, it's part loneliness (when the husband works at night and I am all on my tod), part boredom, and part bad habits. But I am back to being determined and 2Kids' slim and full arrived so I started today - the mango one isn't too bad. Didn't keep me full for very long though Hmm.

It's been around 1200 calories today and that's what I want to stick to. Exercise is really hard to fit in - see aforementioned comment about husband - I don't have childcare if he isn't here, and my only option would be to get up at 6am, and we all know that ain't happening!

2kidsintow · 22/09/2014 22:21

A good day here. Mostly because I've been very busy....

No breakfast, packed lunch at work, then really busy with after work meeting, a meeting at DD1's school about her French trip and then off to a friend's to make a cake for her Mum. Finally ate my salmon salad and some graze box nibbles at 8pm.

ENding the day on 1200 cals. And I've done 8k steps so not too shabby.

2kidsintow · 22/09/2014 23:32

Oh, glad they arrived safe and sound, hope they help you out. I've gone to bed v hungry but still on my 1200 cals, ignoring lots if apple based goodies that I baked yesterday.

Go me!

FavadiCacao · 23/09/2014 09:17

Time and exercise! I can relate to that problem. Grin

Wohoo! Back to the straight and narrow and back to Saturday weight! :)

Only one week to go before the end Slimtember! Grin
Any one up for OPTober- Ongoing Physique Training, where sensible dieting and exercise are OPTional?

What's I saw song and thought of you. I hope you'll unpeel the wrappers from the wetsuit and hide the evindencerejoin the troops soon. :)

flightywoman · 23/09/2014 18:42

A shade over 1200 calories today, and 2 lots of full and slim PLUS Zero noodles for supper.

I AM ON IT!

Victrix · 24/09/2014 09:57

Can't believe it's the last week of Slimtember Shock

Liking the sound of OPTober Fav Grin

WyrdByrd · 24/09/2014 10:56

Definitely up for OPTober!

Probably won't get on the scales before then, but will continue to try and eat sensibly.

What were the really good scales someone mentioned? Might have been Salter/Weight watchers?

My £10 electronic scales from Morrison's are dire on my elderly and uneven bathroom floor.

frownyface · 24/09/2014 12:28

Hello everyone :)

According to MFP I am 8lbs down in 24 days Grin so so pleased.

This week was always going to be tough but in usual frowny style I have managed to make things worse for myself. Its my sons 7th birthday today, wasnt planning on going mad but was really looking forward to choc croissant for breakfast and a slice of birthday cake.

So last night my mouth is really sore and I have a little poke round and find that the back of my jaw around one of my wisdom teeth is really bloody swollen. I take lots of meds for pain anyway so I think they had been covering up the worst of the mind numbing agony :( I have kept putting off going to the dentist coz the last one was bloody horrible and made me cry, it has been niggly but not worryingly so and I kelpt putting off the sodding appt. Anyway I have made an emergency appointment for this afternoonConfused and I am bricking it. Over the course of the night my face has swollen up and is painful to the touch on my right side up to my bloody cheek bone.

I know whats going to happen I will get into the dentist room and they will tell me off for not being seen sooner. Also a filling fell out the other day too :( I am in a right state and have insisted my husband comes in with me (he is my carer so will help me transfer etc anyway).

Cant face eating at all. The chocolate crossants are looking at me. I want to scoff all the birthday cake .
Hey at least its good for the diet (I keep reminding myself whilst trying to stay out of the kitchen).

Hope you are feeling better Wyrd, and keep it going everyone else! :) btw i have salter scales they are great.

WyrdByrd · 24/09/2014 12:39

Hi frowny - well done on the -8lb.

I'm doing OK but that does mean my appetite is returning unfortunately Wink . Having said that I was given 3 large bars of chocolate on my return home last week and have only just made a dent in the second one after 6 days.

We'll say nothing of the hot buttered toast & leftover cauli cheese that constituted breakfast

Hope all goes well at the dentist later. I was OK with them until about 8 years ago I had a filling without anaesthetic - my choice as I hate needles in my gums and it was 'only shallow'.

Big mistake...,huge. Take all the drugs they're willing to throw at you. I had anaesthetic gel before the needles and two injections last time I had a filling. I have a lovely dentist now Smile .

frownyface · 24/09/2014 12:56

Thankyou Wyrd. You have been very restrained with the chocolate I think! and you def need comfort food to recover after an op. Also it does take a while for your body to settle after a gen. aneasthetic-you need to eat to heal :)

My husband is sat next to me eating a ring doughnut Angry

Re. Dentist im planning on taking everything they throw at me painkiller wise! its a new dentist and im hoping she/he will be a little more understanding and a little less judgy than the last one. Will also take anti inflammatorys and codeine before appt so hopefully I will be covered!

Was going to go out for dinner this eve its not looking very likely!

WyrdByrd · 24/09/2014 13:18

Bummer re the dinner.

Tbh if the get well gifts had included a job lot of jam doughnuts or homemade sausage rolls I'd have been considerably less restrained Grin.

flightywoman · 24/09/2014 16:17

Soooo fucked off. I'm doing the absolute best I can, really sticking to it and I'm not losing, I'm gaining.

This is massively unfair and disheartening.

2kidsintow · 24/09/2014 21:32

Oh frowny, hope you are sorted soon. And that the dentist is kind. I had a bit of filling done on Friday and they didn't give me a needle - I asked them just as they started whether I needed one. Apparently not - it was a tooth that had a really old, quite large filling so they 'assumed the root was dead'. Eeek.

They drilled and filled and all was OK! I was very surprised and quite relieved as the injection is usually the worse bit for me. And I could spend the day with my friend with no numbness or dribbling. Yay. :)

I've got a lot of pain on that side of my face anyway due to my trigeminal neuralgia and I take quite a high dose of nerve-pain killers on a daily basis, but it wouldn't have helped with the dentists, so I was really happy that it went well.

FavadiCacao · 24/09/2014 21:35

666 are Salters, I found them in Tesco and Sainsbury's for under £30 but bought in ASDA reduced to £10. Grin

Restrain is restrain, Byrd!:) My son -the little ......- has been baking blueberry muffins, waving chocolate under my nose...He might need to watch out on a snappy day. Grin

FrownyFlowers Well done on your weight loss, I hope the dentist appointment went well. Hmm Average weight of tooth?

Flighty Flowers What diet are you following? It might need tweaking, or it could be a natural trend of the diet itself as your body re-adjusts. Exercise can also lead to temporary weight gain.

Glad we are set for OPTber. It seems we have already some interesting diets to follow with the appendectomy diet and the wisdom tooth diet having joined the ranks. The death jeans diet it's an all rounder by also including exercise and mental focus and lint free cotton polishes halos to blinding light. Should we need to occasionally relax, refocus or an uplift... How does antigravity yoga sound? Grin

flightywoman · 24/09/2014 22:25

Grazie Fava, I'm doing SW but also using MFP to assess the calories and they're around the 1200 mark. No muscle-building exercise.

It's just so annoying!

flightywoman · 24/09/2014 22:26

I had lost 4 stone on SW up to last year but have put over 2 back on.
