How can I lose 10lbs before my holiday on, er, Monday?

In a panic. Was meant to start diet in May but one thing (or rather, one pizza) led to another and now I've got less than a week.

I'm 5'6" and look great at 9st 7. This morning I was 10st 11! Shiiiiiiiit!

What can I do? I really REALLY need to crash some of this off. I don't care if it's unhealthy, it's only for a few days and I can do it properly when I get home.

Any and all ideas MASSIVELY gratefully received. What are your tried and tested tricks? Thank you!

I used to be clever. Since I have had kids I have lost my memory and have no energy for retaining information. I seem to forget a lot as soon as I have read it. I can't get to grips with a plan to follow when there is food in I want to eat Hmm. It is hard work eating different from everyone else though DH is very good at eating his marmite on toast in the kitchen where I can't see him.

We had some news this morning. It was good in that it was one hurdle past with lots to go so I just know he will bring home wine and last night he bought me posh crisps. I will forgo the wine with no difficulty but I like the sound of a few crisps. Maybe once a week a few are okay and you wonder why you are fat you twat. How could I be 3 stone over my pre baby weight and not know? Told you I was thick.

In my defence, albeit pathetic defence, I had 3 under 5 and was ill after having baby number 3 and how heavy I was was not on my mind and I didn't weigh myself for months and months. DH noticed I was getting fatter but didn't want to tell me given I had loads of kids to care for and was ill again.

Have had my tea. Wasn't yummy. Wasn't undrinkable. I need a wee. Not sure there is anything else to report other than I am not looking forward to my next cup.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 29/08/2014 14:11

I'm thicker since kids. I think we all are!

Here is a quick fix to lose weight itsfab.

Don't go for a wee yet, wait til you are about to burst. Just before you burst, weigh yourself.

Have big long satisfying wee.

Weigh yourself.

I bet you'll be at least half a pound lighter. Grin

PrimalLass · 29/08/2014 14:28

Itsfab - stop it. I'd put a lb back on this morning Sad The proper crazy dieting starts on Monday.

In other news, I went into town to take stuff back, forgot half of it and ended up spending £150 I don't have Hmm

Itsfab · 29/08/2014 14:36

Bummer, CTK I have already weed Sad.

Shucks about the shopping, PL, can you go back again and return both lots?

In other news DD and DS2 finally playing nicely as I have confiscated computers and had words. DS2 has been throwing himself down the stairs when upset with DD and blaming her. Since I have pointed out he will end up sore as a minimum and potentially dead he has got the message.

Ladies ladies, no one is thick, you all have me guffawing every time I check in!!!!

Dear food diary. Today I have consumed:

1 nutri bullet concoction (nectarines, blackberries, almonds). I left out the spinach and for the first time, it was palatable.
1 slice of toast with peanut butter
1 colon cleanse tablet in the rim.
1 slug of milk from the fridge....don't judge me, I was just about to go for...

1 run (30 mins only) and there was a but of run-alking going on as am not v fit.
10 mins of yoga stretching. Off YouTube.

I have lost a pound!!!! I am delirious with joy. And hunger.

I am just about to open a bottle of fizz and order a take away though, so this this may change. Mind you, when the curry hits the colon cleanse tablet, it could create a beautiful shitters tea effect.

Will update.

PrimalLass · 29/08/2014 15:51

Yes Itsfab, some of it is going back, but most of the money was on a Clinique sonic face thingy, which I 'need' as I am so spotty at the moment.

Itsfab · 29/08/2014 16:04

I have finally not got the taste of the loverly purify tea Grin. Sounds so nice in theory but doesn't quite have it.

How often is everyone weighing themselves?

CatThiefKeith · 29/08/2014 16:32

I weigh myself every morning.

Then again after lunch, and again before bed, and after each wee

WaitingForMe · 29/08/2014 16:38

While I'd argue nobody is thick, I am a little concerned at the mixing of colon cleanse tablets and curry Shock

Itsfab · 29/08/2014 16:39

DH has come home with fizz

HmmGrinConfused

I just had 4 or 5 chocolate mentoes. They are so nice. Damn.

coffeeinbed · 29/08/2014 16:41

Concerned Waiting?
No, I have nothing but admiration for such audacity!!

GobblersKnob · 29/08/2014 16:45

Just made a small bowl of buttercream and ate it.

Hmm

ARSE

I don't normally even eat sugar.

I am hungry and massively craving something.

Going to glug lots of water, it wasn't even very nice :(

WhatsGoingOnEh · 29/08/2014 16:50

I am rolling on the floor laughing at all these updates. I love all of you so much! :)

primal, I bought a £12 tin-opener today, to replace the old, rusty perfectly usable one we already had. Just so I could open my tins of grapefruit.

I'm in my PlayDoh-roll jeans, with a HUGE jumper slung over the top to hide the billowing masses of puffy flesh that splurge up over the waistband like old, wet pastry.

I'm a sexy one!

OP posts:
WhatsGoingOnEh · 29/08/2014 16:54

Gobblers, did you read the recipe for sugar-free meringues upthread? Too late now, but maybe we should all make a batch of these and keep whatever's left after a huge binge some in a tin for when cravings hit.

Oh my Goodness! This thread is awesome! I should warn you though that the Dr who designed the Scarsdale Diet got bumped off by his mistress. He'd probably be alive today if he'd just let her get fat!

As an aside, I live very close to Scarsdale and a far more accurate description of the average Scarsdale diet seems to be Water and vitamins for breakfast, fresh air or half a lettuce leaf for lunch and Xanax or alcohol for dinner. Seems to work though. There's some seriously hot bodies in Scarsdale!

WhatsGoingOnEh · 29/08/2014 16:55

I'm glad I hadn't taken a cup of Slitherer's Tea before I read this. As it was, I pissed myself laughing, but it could've been so much worse.

Now THIS, I could get behind.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 29/08/2014 16:58

Kelly, yay on the pound! But I do have to warn you against the long-term effects of celebrating every pound lost with a bottle of champagne and a curry.

OP posts:
WhatsGoingOnEh · 29/08/2014 17:01

I have a to-do list a MILE long. itsfab, you're the only person in the world who I listen to when you talk to me sternly. :) Remember on holiday when you (nicely) slapped me for moaning? It really worked.

Can I post my to-do list here and you berate me when if I don't finish it? Your Paddington stare works on me like a cup of Pukka Detox.

BravePotato · 29/08/2014 17:01

Not sure whether to post or not, but this thread, whilst witty and entertaining, reads like a "how not to eat" manual Wink

All this dieting and temporary fixes, all these f*cked up faddy eating habits, non of it sustainable long term, ergo the weight comes off, the comes back when you start eating as you used to BD (Before Diet).

Sorry to piss on your chips, though maybe that si exactly what is required, but the bad news is that all this faddy eating (diets, laxative teas) messes with your metabolism and gets you further and further from a healthy body.

Not going to say: eat less, move more, as it is NOT simple like that.

But make small changes bit by bit, a bit less booze, no chocolate bars, a bit more fruit and veg, fewer puss, and just tweak your daily diet.

This famine and feast mentality is a road to nowhere.

And you CAN lose the weight, for ever, by slowly (baby steps) changing how you eat.

But there is no such thing as a quick fix, as long term they end up making you fatter!!!

BravePotato · 29/08/2014 17:03

not puss, nobody should have any puss at all Shock, I meant fewer .... what did I mean? Autocorrect completely lost me there

apologies!

WhatsGoingOnEh · 29/08/2014 17:03

We know all that!

OP posts:
BravePotato · 29/08/2014 17:05

I meant puddings, as in p u d s

but it won't let me type it! Damn you autocorrect
