How can I lose 10lbs before my holiday on, er, Monday?

In a panic. Was meant to start diet in May but one thing (or rather, one pizza) led to another and now I've got less than a week.

I'm 5'6" and look great at 9st 7. This morning I was 10st 11! Shiiiiiiiit!

What can I do? I really REALLY need to crash some of this off. I don't care if it's unhealthy, it's only for a few days and I can do it properly when I get home.

Any and all ideas MASSIVELY gratefully received. What are your tried and tested tricks? Thank you!

The Scarsdale Diet gets weight off quickly BUT you eat proper food, proper meals, and it does retrain your eating habits. OK, BP, thank you. You've convinced me to go back on that diet on a Monday because, yes, it DID lead to the long-term changes you (quite rightly) encourage.

I only got fat again because I had to move back in to my parents' house and their eating habits are AWFUL. I was a bit depressed and just got sucked back in.

I know, I have just put on half a stone over the hols (staying at my parents)

But I will NOT diet (I refuse! Just eating a bit better normally does the job, takes longer though)

GobblersKnob · 29/08/2014 17:12

You don't say BravePotato Wink that really is a revelation Grin

GobblersKnob · 29/08/2014 17:13

Might make some of those meringues....

Victrix · 29/08/2014 17:13
Grin

I do know that. Don't care though. Slimtember all the way!

CatThiefKeith · 29/08/2014 17:15

I will have you know BravePotato that I am bit of an expert at losing weight really fucking slowly, and have, in the past 3 years, shed a whopping 4 stone with weight watchers.

But it takes forever, and is frankly boring. Nobody wants to fuck about losing half a pound a week when we can lose half a stone in a week!

And I have a very special occasion coming up, WW has taken too long and I need to get into my dress!

CatThiefKeith · 29/08/2014 17:16

The meringues are fab. Let the oven cool right down with them in it to avoid them being soggy in the middle though.

Souper · 29/08/2014 17:28

Yay, Itsfab glad you have decided to stay.

I, too, was clever before having dc. I think they ate my cleverness. I am truly, truly thick now. But I am going to be thin and thick!

Itsfab · 29/08/2014 17:34

Whats Grin[proud]But did you take note of my Paddington Bear stare and follow what it conveyed? Did you?!

Well bollocks to that BravePotato I think the 5:2 fucked up my metabolism to I am happy to just wing it now. And you can say fucked we are all grown ups.

I need to lose 2 stone by a week on Saturday. Isn't gonna happen.

Itsfab · 29/08/2014 17:40

Bloody hell souper! You have a really good point. I fed three babies every 2 hours for 6 months +, no wonder all my brains have gone. Mind you, DS1 is pretty bright, DD is a genius and DS2 has potential so maybe it was worth it? .

Itsfab · 29/08/2014 17:43

Souper, you aren't thick. Look at the incredible discovery you have discovered, It will be named after you and everything. There will be papers written on your incredible discovery. They might even mention you have discovered something really useful and important.

GobblersKnob · 29/08/2014 17:47

I love 'thick and thin', something to aim for Grin

coffeeinbed · 29/08/2014 19:34

The thing is, I might lose weight slowly or I might lose it quickly.
I will put it back on again.

So of rather do it quickly.

WyrdByrd · 29/08/2014 19:38

Last night of holidays and I am going to need to do the mother of all detoxes next week - any suggestions?

I am actually sick of eating crap - have been camping and was looking forward to lots of lovely al fresco salads & BBQs. Instead the weather has been rubbish so having been living on fish & chips & burgers, sugary cereals & bacon & egg baps for breakfast & sausage rolls, crisps & chocolate for lunch.

I have never been so desperate to see a bowl of salad in my life!

goldface · 29/08/2014 20:59

Ooh as a Slimtember member with a real tendency to constipation (tmi? Surely am safe here?!) please tell me of this colon cleanse??

TheHoundsBitch · 29/08/2014 21:37

I'm feeling tired and grumpy and headachey today - think it's some kind of carb crash after all the bananas.
3 bananas, pint of soy milk, coffee, fag and 2 bowls of soup.

Gonna go to bed now. zzzzzzzzzz

Deux · 29/08/2014 23:07

Hello lovelies. Back from hols and not weighed myself yet .

No idea what diet I'll start on Monday. Was intending the James Duncan one but stumbled across the Harcombe diet. First Phase lasts 5 days and uses the word 'unlimited' which is hugely appealing. theharcombediet.com.

Trouble is the 'unlimited' doesn't apply to sugar or carbs or potatoes but you can have 50g of brown rice.

Just going to have a few biscuits and a cuppa whilst I do some more research......

WhatsGoingOnEh · 30/08/2014 02:11

That does sound good!

I've just ordered all the food for Scarsdale but I'll be watching your progress with interest! It sounds very healthy. And easy! And unlimited!!

Don't forget you can have oats too. And something else carby. Nice!

That's right, quinoa. (Boak)

Goldface, these are the ones I'm taking. I'm overseas so not sure if hugely exist in the uk?

www.renewlife.com/cleansesmart.html

Constipated fried of mine swears by them, one in morning, one before bed. Then after a few days you up the dose. Take them for a month.

I've always found it easy to go so i think they get things moving a bit too (ahem) quickly for me.

A word of advice: don't mix them with a dhansak curry. It's 730 am here and I've spent the last half an hour enduring bathroom Armageddon.

If this is what you ladies have been living through with Shitters Tea then hats off to you. I'd have to take a day off work! Hoping I'm through the worst of it. Even the cat looked concerned for my safety when I finally exited the bathroom, gripping the doorframe for strength.

FavadiCacao · 30/08/2014 07:46

Slimtember-I'm in too!:)
I'm going to adapt the Scarsdale diet to gluten free by substituting the protein bread for an egg and I'm going to cheat by adding lemon juice, chilli and herbs to the bland broiled meat

Preferred detox. Two teaspoons of lemon juice first thing in the morning whilst kettle is boiling following a cup of choice drink. 5-15 mins later... :)
Preferred purify tea (especially when TOM visits). When all the juice is gone, steep the lemon skin in hot water for 20 mins. 2hrs later bloating starts to go.

Souper · 30/08/2014 07:48

I always tend towards the constipated side. I have ordered the Pukka detox tea to arrive next week so hopefully that will have some effect.

Loving that Shitters tea is encouraged on this thread!!

As an aside, for those of you who tend towards constipation, I can heartily recommend running as a method to get things moving. Some of my best running times have been when I needed to get home in a hurry to use the loo!

FavadiCacao · 30/08/2014 08:13

Souper, have you tried the lemon juice on an empty stomach to relief constipation followed by a hot drink? It's more... hmm... family friendly! Grin

coffeeinbed · 30/08/2014 08:14

I still can't decide between Scarsdale and Duncan Blue.

Have tea though - it's French and one is Elimination the other Transit.
Self explanatory, I think.....
