How can I lose 10lbs before my holiday on, er, Monday?

In a panic. Was meant to start diet in May but one thing (or rather, one pizza) led to another and now I've got less than a week.

I'm 5'6" and look great at 9st 7. This morning I was 10st 11! Shiiiiiiiit!

What can I do? I really REALLY need to crash some of this off. I don't care if it's unhealthy, it's only for a few days and I can do it properly when I get home.

Any and all ideas MASSIVELY gratefully received. What are your tried and tested tricks? Thank you!

I think next week I might try:

Eggy breakfast [boak]
Cabbage soup lunch
Lean meat/fish and veggies dinner

I'm feeling all conflicted about fat though... When I LC'd before I ate loads of fat and lost weight, but whenever I've done it since I've just felt rank and not lost anything.

This Scarsdale malarky, is that low carb and low fat?

Part of the problem is I always have so much food in there is stuff I want to eat before I can start Hmm.

It is a sweet potato so slightly better and it will be a tiny bit of cheese. I was hoping no or a small breakfast, soup for lunch and then a decent dinner would work. I had stir fry with bean sprouts for dinner on Wednesday.

At least I haven't put anything on for a few days.

Awww Itsfab, could you go wheat or grain free? I would only have to look at a slice of white bread to put on a pound, bread really is the devil for me I could never lose weight while eating even tiny amounts.

Best thing I did was to give up all grains, tbh it pretty much rules out all the bad shit in one fell swoop, you can then serve yourself a massive plate full of veg, and you will get bored/full/tired of masticating before you have consumed hardly any calories at all.

Plus all the vits will make your skin all glowy :)

Gobblers is right y'know, grains are fuckers - I bet you a virtual fiver if you stop eating them for a week you will lose at least a couple of inches from you waist measurement.
Exercise won't make you lose weight on it's own, even marathon training! Diet is the most important thing. Also being in the right frame of mind, it's taken me ages to get to this point where I actually feel committed to doing something about my excess baggage.

Well no, exercise - the way we, not professional sportswomen, do it won't make you lose the sodding weight.
It will tone you, but you won't drop pounds. You will needs hours of cardio for that.
What it also does is raise your endorphins, so you feel better and don't comfort eat. And keeps you busy - what with all the running, showering, hair drying and sports bra shopping and washing...

Find a diet, stick to it for a few days, once you see results it will get easier.

I had toast as was taking the kids out and it was quick. I used to always have cereal but haven't for years except for the one bowl I had last month which set off the munchies.

I love toast but would give it up for a while if it had the desired affect. I am used to eating soup without it now.

Try low carb. Or if you want excellent results, with lots of eating, google Terri Ann's 123 diet.

I've been doing 123 for 7 days, and have lost half a stone. It's pretty easy , and if you don't fancy shelling out for the book have a look at my previous posts for a rough outline, or pm me if you want more info.

Itsfab - you cant leave me again! You need to find something that works for you be it low carb, calorie counting or whatever and stick to it as much as possible. TBH I haven't lost any weight either, I just keep losing 2lb and gaining it back but I know that's because I'm not as strict as I should be. I log everything on MFP even when I've cheated so I can see where I'm going wrong. For example today, I though I would start the James Duncan diet but instead of tomatoes I had baked beans and put Clover light on the toast Blush

I know I can do it - I've lost weight before (10lb last summer) but really struggle with keeping myself motivated, hence the need for drastic, fast results! I can feel muscles developing since doing the shred but they are hidden under the layer of fat!

Which brings me on to the Slimmatee - its taken half a pound off in one day! I couldn't bring myself to drink a cup last night though as the toilet visits were beginning to get uncomfortable!

Yesterday I had my boots on with size 12 trouser jean things from New Look - ie not really a 12 Confused and I felt good.

That is the danger. I didn't feel that fat when I was 2 stone over weight and had NO clue I had put it all on. Lost 2 stone. Put one back on.

Lowest without counting before babies I was 11 stone 3 over Christmas. Was poorly for 4 weeks so didn't eat much and lost nothing. Have been 12 stone for a few days now.

Now having stir fry for dinner as beansprouts are use by today. Kids having jacket spud.

I am living on the edge today. I am at work, and have just imbibed my first ever shitters tea!

it is actually Pukka Detox tea, as that's all Tesco had, but am hoping it will have a similar effect. Only another 10lb to shift. With an F in it! Grin

Today I'd lost a pound?! Weird as yesterday was NOT a good day.

Today's better, except I'd booked a LBT class at the gym at 9.30am and woke up at... 9.30am. FFS.

Thanks WhatsGoingOnEh. I just felt I wasn't adding to the thread, had maybe upset you with what I said and am a bit thick.

Backs up my theory that it can take 2-3 days to have an effect since you have lost a pound after a bad day. Maybe the day before was good?

When I was doing diet chef I took a week off as I was fed up of not cooking and allowed myself just to have what I wanted, plus I hadn't lost anything for a week or so. I lost that week.

Just having Purify tea. Strange. What delights can I look forward too and does anyone know how many a day I am supposed to have?

The other choices in this brand were detox and cleanse. There was nothing called Slim tea.
