How can I lose 10lbs before my holiday on, er, Monday?

In a panic. Was meant to start diet in May but one thing (or rather, one pizza) led to another and now I've got less than a week.

I'm 5'6" and look great at 9st 7. This morning I was 10st 11! Shiiiiiiiit!

What can I do? I really REALLY need to crash some of this off. I don't care if it's unhealthy, it's only for a few days and I can do it properly when I get home.

Any and all ideas MASSIVELY gratefully received. What are your tried and tested tricks? Thank you!

I'm continuing with my low cal regime if that's acceptable? I can't contemplate any kind of plan that doesn't allow sugar I'm afraid (eg I've had a Double Decker today but still stuck to just over 800 cals). I've also just started reading my Rotation Diet book, he guarantees a loss of at least 13lbs in 3 weeks. Suck on that Duncan from Blue.

Itsfab · 28/08/2014 20:29

Fuckalella - Duh, I didn't even register it was chocolate. What an idiot.

Still not had the tea. Never seems to be the right moment when I am not sure what the results will be?!

CatThiefKeith · 28/08/2014 20:34

I wish I was a thinspiration. I might have been if it hadn't been for the egg and wine debacle and the vodka this weekend! and the KFC to soak up the hangover

I am going to a family BBQ this weekend. I absolutely cannot have a drink, it sets me back too far. Sad

33 days til I fly, 38 til the big event, 11lb still to lose.Shock

I have a reserve dress, just in case!Wink

Itsfab · 28/08/2014 20:35

Duncan James has written a diet book?!?! Really?

TheHoundsBitch · 28/08/2014 20:42

Lol @ winders! I've had Soup, an apple, an orange, half a cantaloupe, 2 coffees and a fag today. Feeling slimmer bit I haven't got scales so don't know of I've lost any actual pounds...
Went shopping for new running shoes today that's almost exercise right?

coffeeinbed · 28/08/2014 20:52
Grin I'm sure you didn't mean it that way, Hounds... Or did you?
goldface · 28/08/2014 21:08

Oh breaking bod, I have just laughed so hard at your slap down to duncan from blue!!
I have had success in the poo department, so that's good news. Dh made Quorn shep pie which is surely healthy? Tho probs not in the quantities I had. Can't really do the duncan from blue diet cos hate eggs and am vegetarin, so am gonna juice it a la Jason Vale for the first three days of Slimtember.

Victrix · 28/08/2014 21:30

I have just remembered I have a juicer in the cupboard...

TheHoundsBitch · 28/08/2014 21:44

Grin coffee

2kidsintow · 28/08/2014 22:40

Sorry, eggs ming, as does grapefruit, so I won't be partaking of the James Duncan from Blue diet.

What's scarsdale?

After bank-holiday vom-fest and feeling ill I lost the 2lb I put on this summer on hol with the kids.

And I've not gained all my bad habits back yet. I seem to have mostly lost my urge to cram something sweet into my face within an hour of eating. So I've lost another pound.

I managed to slurp FIVE HUNDRED calories of costa choc cooler today though. Almost slim-fast-esque as a liquid lunch, no? No.

I'm still a member of weightwatchers but haven't fitted in a single meeting over the 6 weeks. 1lb loss for over 6 weeks is a bit Hmm so I don't look forward to that weigh in on Fri next week.

Although I'm still a WW member until Oct, I've lost my mojo with counting ppoints. I shall go to my last few meetings for a bit of motivation, but I'm going a different way.

I've logged back onto MFP for the first time in many months. And have committed to joining a gym with the girls from work. That might add a bit of variety to my exercise regime which currently is one zumba class and as much walking as a 40 year old with a dodgy hip can manage.

I luffs this fred. :) :)

WhatsGoingOnEh · 28/08/2014 23:00

2kidsintow, Scarsdale is a VERY strict but VERY effective diet from the 70s. I love it, I lost a tonne on it and so did PrimalLass. You can buy the book on Amazon (it's definitely worth a read, he was a genius!) or find all the info on this site

I just watched a Blue video. NOT THAT KIND OF BLUE VIDEO. GET YOUR MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER AND BACK INTO THE FRIDGE. The video of that "All Rise" song. Blue were quite good!

That hasn't helped me decide which diet to start on Monday though.

I'm thinking to start off with Scarsdale as that seems most effective and immediate and so keeping up the spirit of fast and furious weightloss that is this thread, it seems most appropriate. Besides, the Shitters tea and all the eggs combined seem like a recipe for a deadly concoction of methane gas and therefore out of respect for my DH, my DC, my students and the environment I'm going for Scarsdale first. Once I lose a stone I might move onto Duncans but we shall see.

I couldn't bear even a lick of grapefruit anyway.

CatThiefKeith · 29/08/2014 07:13

11.5!!!

I am visibly thinner this morning. As you would expect from living on a diet of meat, fish, eggs, salad (not tomatoes though) onions peppers and mushrooms for 7 days! Smile

Itsfab · 29/08/2014 08:19

I don't belong. Still no weight off Hmm so I bid you all good luck. Hopefully I will see you all again if you don't lose all your weight.

coffeeinbed · 29/08/2014 09:03

Oh go one itsfab!

Get the eggs and tomatoes and grapefruit on your shopping list and try for a day or two.

Souper · 29/08/2014 09:07

Hello, please may I join? I definitely want to be in on Slimtember. I have been lurking and following this thread from the beginning but it is my dieting spiritual home for sure.

I weighed 12 stone 10 a few days ago but this week I am staying at my mum's (who is a feeder!) without any scales. I will be able to assess the damage on Sunday... I have been running in the mornings and skipping breakfast to try to limit any gain. Next week will be hardcore on some kind of plan - need to choose one!

If I get down to 11st7 I will be able to fit in all of my clothes. 11st is looking quite slim for me. But still over a stone more than the recommended weights up thread!

WhatsGoingOnEh · 29/08/2014 09:14

souper, you're in. :) You have a low-carb name! Probably? As long as it's not tomato soup.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 29/08/2014 09:15

itsfab would you stop flouncing?! You're in our gang. Stay.

OkyDoke · 29/08/2014 09:39

I've been following this thread for a while and I'm loving it. I'm entirely fed up of sensible eating plans that I can't stick to and would love to participate in Slimtember.

Got 2 stone (ish) to lose for my wedding, 364 days to go!

By the way, which is the best shitters tea?

TheHoundsBitch · 29/08/2014 10:06

Don't goooo It'sFab!
DH told be I smell like soup last night Hmm
Banana day today - I can have up to 8 bananas and some milk as well as my soup today. Hmm

Itsfab · 29/08/2014 10:32

I think I am doing nothing at the moment. I feel I am eating healthy-ish - except the accidental dairy milk ritz yesterday - but nothing is coming off Confused.

Plus I am not funny enough.

Eaten today - one slice of white toast with lurpak, 2 cherry tomatoes.
Lunch - planning on home made spring onion soup and maybe a home made apricot turnover but not fussed about that.
Dinner - jacket spud with cheese.

Itsfab · 29/08/2014 10:34

I just feel lost

GobblersKnob · 29/08/2014 10:38

Slimtember sounds fab, I want to be skinny by the 22nd (when I go back to uni). Can't to do the James Duncan though as an another veggie. Love the idea that a steak portion could be a whole cow though Wink

This is my fourth day with a crisp and the temptation is strong, but I will not give in to the call of the salty fuckers calling me from the kitchen cupboard.

Shredding everyday and trying to walk lots, eating a LOT of eggs and vegetable soup.

TheHoundsBitch · 29/08/2014 10:39

itsfab you need to stick to something or you won't lose anything lovey. Jacket spud and cheese is no good on any kind of diet.
Try the cabbage soup diet, I'm finding it reasonably easy because you can eat as much of the soup as you like. (although your family might tell you you smell soupy on day 3 Hmm)
