How can I lose 10lbs before my holiday on, er, Monday?

WhatsGoingOnEh · 12/08/2014 23:47

In a panic. Was meant to start diet in May but one thing (or rather, one pizza) led to another and now I've got less than a week.

I'm 5'6" and look great at 9st 7. This morning I was 10st 11! Shiiiiiiiit!

What can I do? I really REALLY need to crash some of this off. I don't care if it's unhealthy, it's only for a few days and I can do it properly when I get home.

Any and all ideas MASSIVELY gratefully received. What are your tried and tested tricks? Thank you!

Have been following stealthily since I found this thread on Sunday...started the James Duncan thing on Monday and, minus shitters tea but with copious amounts of coffee (which seems to have similar effect), I've gone from 11 12lbs down to 11 5lb!!

I am training for a half marathon at the mo but this is the most weight loss I've had in a while and has given me a kick in time for my hols on Tuesday.

Though I may well put it all back on tonight as going for a meal but am considering ditching the scales til after hols now!

Well done everyone - sometimes you just need that kick up your wobbly arse....

CatThiefKeith · 23/08/2014 13:37

Have worked out that I need to lose 3lb a week for 5 weeks in order to make sure that I can enjoy the first 5 days of my holiday and still get into the dress.

No alcohol for me then!Grin

WaitingForMe · 23/08/2014 14:04

I've been shopping! No shitter tea but bought some zero calorie noodles (Boots) and The Food Doctor Diet (reduced to 99p). Not exactly complementary approaches but can't do Food Doctor until the stepkids are back at school as we're constantly on the go.

Minimoo43 · 23/08/2014 14:36

Zero calorie noodles? Oooh!
Day one of the tomato soup diet. I've eaten an apple, raw carrot as I was chopping for soup and have just eaten a large bowl of the soup. Not bad actually but I'm sure I'll be sick of the stuff by day erm 2 Grin
Can't wait for more soup later with melons and blueberries for snacks...hmmmmm.

CatThiefKeith · 23/08/2014 14:51

Its not very exciting is it? I had strawberries, blueberries and melon for breakfast, about 3 bowls of soup for lunch (was starving) then apples, melons, grapes and more blueberries as snacks, followed by more soup for dinner, and melon for dessert.

The weight did drop off though! Smile

Minimoo43 · 23/08/2014 17:00

It's not the worst I suppose. I'm currently trying to resist the temptation to run in the kitchen and jump head first into the bread bin!

JudysPriest · 23/08/2014 17:04

I am now 7lb down thanks to this thread! I'll look like I didn't turn up the wedding as I'll be sooooo thin I'll be invisible in the pics!

Plain chicken and corn on the cob for tea tonight.

foxinthebox · 23/08/2014 17:28

Great losses there girls!! Well done and Mutha, I'm impressed. Stay strong minimoo NO BREAD.

Whatsgoingon what is going on? A week of pain and you're back at square one. Stay strong. You can do it!

I am trying to resist wine again tonight. It feels wrong, wrong, wrong on a weekend. Baked chicken breast small and a salad for dinner. I WANT WINE...

JudysPriest · 23/08/2014 17:50

Sparkling water with some sliced lemon Fox! It's not the same but it feels grown up and tastes good.

BreakingBod · 23/08/2014 17:55

Right - my bloody Rotation Diet still hasn't arrived, but I can't wait any longer. Had a girlie shopping trip today and felt massive and gross all the way round, went to loads of lovely shops in Manchester but didn't buy a thing (apart from some slippers Blush). Have decided to lose 10lbs asap and then revamp my entire wardrobe.

Basing my diet plan on memory and a quick read through of reviews on Amazon, week 1 (starting tomorrow!) will be 600 cals for 3 days and 900 cals for the remaining 4 days. I'm going to alternate them as I remember it being quite tough doing 3 consecutive 600 days last time. Week 2 would then be 1200, although I'm still considering slim shakes, so will see what others make of them. Would also like more info about these Aldi smoothies Noddy.

6lb is very impressive WaitingForMe well done!

JudysPriest · 23/08/2014 17:57

Anyone else get excited when they realise they need a poo as it's a few lbs gone? Blush

Minimoo43 · 23/08/2014 18:30

Yes! Me! Haha
I've resisted the bread him, I've had another bowl of rancid puke I mean tomato soup.
I'm thinking of going to bed same time as the boys to prevent snacking!

Minimoo43 · 23/08/2014 18:31

Judy, 7lb?! Woo that's brilliant. How are you doin it?

JudysPriest · 23/08/2014 18:39

The bread bin shouts for me Mini! We live in Scotland so have the joys of Morning Rolls. They are fresh every day and smell how I imagine heaven will. DH and DS get a cooked breakfast and it killed me making them eggs and square sausage in these rolls.

I'm living on around 600 cals a day Mini.

Earlier I had a small portion of low fat chilli (homemade so low sugar too). Just low fat pork mince, lentils, baked beans, chopped pepper, tomato and onion with chilli powder.

Tonight we have 1/3 of an iceland easy bake chicken joint coming in at 251 cals, mini corn on the cob at 50 and some salad.

It's sad when plain chicken has become junk food.

Beastofburden · 23/08/2014 18:45

Am not going to diet I am just going to diet vicariously through you all. But I have been swimming three days on the trot now. My skins itches and my hair is dry as straw but I have exercised.

Shockers · 23/08/2014 18:56

I've been on holiday so I've only just seen this thread.

I'm intrigued... what is shitter tea?

FavadiCacao · 23/08/2014 19:15

Having chosen the Italian style diet, I noticed it needs a little tweaking ... with a hint of the wine diet. Grin

If the scales raise their ugliness tomorrow, I'll hit them with the lemon rind tea less slithery than other teas :)

Off to, hmm, to make adjustments!!

Minimoo43 · 23/08/2014 19:34

You're showing some will power there tho judy, something I'm sadly lacking in and I'm also too lazy to count calories!

foxinthebox · 23/08/2014 19:45

I had a small glass of wine and a cigarette. On soda water now. No lemon.

Time for a slimmers tea before bed.

Minimoo43 · 23/08/2014 20:15

I've only done one day and that tomato soup concoction is making me feel sick. Maybe that's why you lose weight on it!!

Minimoo43 · 23/08/2014 21:29

And I'm doing the most rancid farts! Confused

Fuckalella · 23/08/2014 21:35

Right! I have also been shopping online. I have ordered some shitter tea and zero noodles (on offer at Holland and Barrett and free delivery this weekend).

Need it after yesterday, had Ikea apple cake for lunch and Chinese takeaway for dinner. Feel bloated and crap today though so have not felt like eating, good for the diet though I suppose. Must work harder on willpower, there are some impressive results on this thread!

JudysPriest · 23/08/2014 21:45

I accidental the crunchy nut cornflakes.

CatThiefKeith · 23/08/2014 22:15

Haha. I had that problem too Mini Moo!

Did you blend the soup? I found it much more palatable chopping the ingredients into small chunks. It was a bit watery that way, but easier to stomach.

Minimoo43 · 24/08/2014 09:25

I think I'll blend it today catthief. I'm finding the celery and green pepper really bitter Confused and I woke up this morning with a stonking headache.
On a plus note I'm 11.8 this morning which is a 3 lb loss!! That's mostly down to period bloating tho I reckon but I'll still take it Smile
