How can I lose 10lbs before my holiday on, er, Monday?

In a panic. Was meant to start diet in May but one thing (or rather, one pizza) led to another and now I've got less than a week.

I'm 5'6" and look great at 9st 7. This morning I was 10st 11! Shiiiiiiiit!

What can I do? I really REALLY need to crash some of this off. I don't care if it's unhealthy, it's only for a few days and I can do it properly when I get home.

Any and all ideas MASSIVELY gratefully received. What are your tried and tested tricks? Thank you!

BreakingBod I shall report in.

Had one for breakfast this morning and it was surprisingly filling and tasty- I have ten days worth if I have two a day so I think that should do me...

Victrix · 22/08/2014 12:33

Also when I weighed myself this morning I was 66.6kg which made me laugh.

Itsfab · 22/08/2014 14:09

I feel left out Sad. I can't join in as I am not weighing myself.

I feel thinner, slightly.

Have had 3 left over new potatoes and one left over sticky chicken drumstick for breakfast. Lunch was a piece of toast and most of one triangle of a Laughing Cow with blue cheese and one small spoonful of mash as I made it for tea. I know on past experience I will have dinner then later will want to stuff my face. This will happen when I miss a meal be it breakfast or lunch.

So, what should I eat?

In other news, first time since having periods I have not been mainlining chocolate. I haven't had any! Shock.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 22/08/2014 18:26

I'm back! And massive! :D

I have a tummy like the watermelon I have not been eating. Had a great time although not at all relaxing as it was non-stop all day/evening. So so tired today, going to bed as soon as the kids do. Which should hopefully stop me eating carby crap. Although I wouldn't put it past me to order pizzas in my sleep.

This thread def inspired me and reminded me how much I like being thin. I'd start again tomorrow but I'm on a train going oooooop narth for 5 hours for a wedding reception (a bad idea; I'd cancel but the £££ train tickets are non-refundable) and will be hitting the bar carriage rather hard. Coming back Sunday.

Next week will be HEALTH and FITNESS all week. Kids with their dad so I can gym/eat salad/shit myself all week undisturbed.

Glad to see you're all still here and all into it. Long live the diet rebels!

I can join in with the watermelon stomach as have had pad thai and a twix today. Given I almost cried when I found out the Central Line wasn't working this morning, almost fell asleep this pm and can feel a spot brewing, I must be due. After getting accidently pregnant a few years ago, you would have thought I would have learned to pay more attention but, no, I get taken by surprise each month.

Laundryangel · 22/08/2014 18:58

On the scales front, mine (electronic) took much longer than usual yesterday to show my weight and then kept flashing the number as though the scales couldn't quite believe it either. I've never had a sense of solidarity with my scales before!

NellVarnish · 22/08/2014 20:25

I'd love to sleep for a week CatThief. That would be bliss.

My belly looks like the dough that I made my home made bloody bread with last night. Why eat it? I could've just stuck it straight on my belly.

foxinthebox · 22/08/2014 20:45

I'm sure you estomac is perfectly normal whatsgoingon. After you weekend imagine where you would have been without the rather unhinged diet plan!

I feel thin and virtuous, for no real reason. Another night in with no booze. I didn't know this was a possible Friday night alternative.

LuckySaint · 22/08/2014 21:51

Wah... I've missed you all!
My phone died and I've barely been able to get online for the past couple of days Sad
and wtf have they done to mumsnet?!

I've been alternating the shitty diet from recipe rifle, with eggs, chicken and soup.
Horrid period's finished so I can finally join in properly.

Well done to Scarlett and the other weight loss people.

Minimoo43 · 22/08/2014 22:30

Right.
Tomorrow is day one of the tomato soup diet.
Today I've eaten soooo much and I'm now necking rose like my life depends on it. I'm going to weigh myself first thing then force evil soup down my throat...for a week ??
I'm going to need lots of support!

Minimoo43 · 22/08/2014 22:31

Bloody hell, this site doesn't like apostrophes, accents or iphone emoticons does it ConfusedConfused

CatThiefKeith · 22/08/2014 22:31

Good luck MiniMoo. Eat plenty of fruit. Any fruit, but Melon is supposed to be particularly good!Smile

Minimoo43 · 22/08/2014 22:32

I think I'm going to need some infamous shitter tea...what can you recommend? Grin

Minimoo43 · 22/08/2014 22:33

Thank you catthief, I'm not so optimistic at the moment but I have got a melon so there's something to look forward to starts to tie a knot in the noose

Minimoo43 · 22/08/2014 22:50

Oh god, starry things don't show up either. I'm such a novice.

WyrdByrd · 23/08/2014 00:15

Off to Cornwall at sparrow fart on Monday morning but actually looking forward to cracking on with hardcore diet and exercise regime when I get back Confused .

Think I've undone ago the good my previous slow burn diet & gym sessions had done over the school hold and I feel like the Pillsbury Dough boy Girl Sad .

Only just over a year until the big 4-0 so have to crack it this time.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 23/08/2014 07:51

1lb less this morning and that's with my period arriving Wed night. So when it fucks off on Sun/Mon I would expect to see another loss.

We are loading the car and are off to Wales in next half ann hour, I have packed my running kit, Wales is hilly as fuck so if I get in a couple of runs that will help yes?

Happymschicken · 23/08/2014 09:05

Love this thread!

I'm going to stock up on Tesco Ultraslim today too. Need to shift half a stone that has magically crept on since the stuff fest that was last xmas and increasing my hours at work so I'm desk bound for much of the week.

I've always scoffed at these short term diets but tbh, I'm all for the quick fix these days.

WaitingForMe · 23/08/2014 09:42

12st today Grin

Not sure how as DH and I shared a bottle of wine and an entire carton of Phish Food last night (willpower broken by wine).

I've been taking a pint of water to bed and drinking it before I go down in the morning. Seems to ease breakfast rumblings somewhat.

I think the initial weightloss (6lb) is tied to not eating everything in sight on holiday. Will have to up my efforts next week to keep losing I think. Time for shitter tea I think Confused

ilovekittycats · 23/08/2014 10:07

Which brand of "shitter tea" do you all recommend - I am intrigued?

Also, does it just clear you out on a temporary basis (the backlog) or does it make food go through you so quickly that the calories don't count (now that would be great)!!

Minimoo43 · 23/08/2014 11:02

Day 1.
11 bastard fucking stone 11 pounds.
Altho I have come on over night and feel extra blimp like.
Have eaten an apple and am just off to make the tomato soup.

ilovekittycats · 23/08/2014 11:05

Noddy, Which Aldi smoothies and how many a day did your friend have?

Trills · 23/08/2014 11:35

Out for tapas last night. Not exactly diet friendly. Going to make a big batch of soup today. And maybe eat some eggs.

CatThiefKeith · 23/08/2014 12:26

11.8 this morning! Grin

Dress still doesn't zip up though Sad
