How can I lose 10lbs before my holiday on, er, Monday?

In a panic. Was meant to start diet in May but one thing (or rather, one pizza) led to another and now I've got less than a week.

I'm 5'6" and look great at 9st 7. This morning I was 10st 11! Shiiiiiiiit!

What can I do? I really REALLY need to crash some of this off. I don't care if it's unhealthy, it's only for a few days and I can do it properly when I get home.

Any and all ideas MASSIVELY gratefully received. What are your tried and tested tricks? Thank you!

Oh god, a baby bottle of booze! Argh. Maybe I should pack a little baby bottle, with one of those teats that's really hard to suck through.

LOL at Catthief's 2lb loss (with more to come).

I'm not making the sugar-free gummy bears mistake again, thank you Egghead68.

LuckySaint - I think "cleanse" = "turns your guts to hot Nutella" so yes, that's a good tea.

5madthings - biscuits are surprisingly ok. Rich Teas are best, something like 25 cals each and hardly any fat. Next up are Fruit Shortcakes. They taste "naughty" but are only 45 cals. Custard Creams aren't bad either. The bad boys are shortbread and Hobnobs.

The Flakes you get in a big box to put on ice-creams are really good, only 40ish calories each.

I've just made it through Sunday lunch. (Thankfully my parents didn't order a pizza and therefore complete the Takeaway Trinity.) We had roast chicken, and I had a HUGE pile of veg. No roast potatoes, no stuffing. A drizzle of gravy. A F&S sachet and two huge glasses of water. I feel stuffed.

I'm going to take my scales on holiday.

Am I right in thinking fear and hoovering burns up calories? Hoovered the lounge and scared myself silly when an 8 legged insect walked along me hand. I brushed it off and now I don't know where it is Sad.

DS1 stressed me out so I ate some triple choc brownie and that doesn't count either was medicinal.

Thanks for the link to ideal weight for height. I'm way too heavy for my height of 5'4.

I'm a bit pished on Cava Rose at the mo. Added to that I've taken my lenses out so am living In soft focus world. Took a gelfie - selfie of my gut - oh dear, how did it get like this? It's all dough like. I swear Paul Hollywood could kneed it and plait it and sprinkle it with sea salt. I was 9 stone 10 before I left for holiday, but no scales here.

After I stopped bfing DD I was 9 st 3 which is my first goal.

I've got to stop eating Nutella from the jar, amongst other things. The more I'm reading about Scarsdale the better it sounds. I've never ever had to diet before and it's a bit scary tbh.

Deux · 17/08/2014 17:49

@itsfab. Hoovering is good, deffo anything that gets you moving will burn calories.

Scary 8 legged creatures may cause loss of appetite too.

Itsfab · 17/08/2014 18:02

Fuck, I was 21 when I was 9 stone 3 and used to get upset when once a month I would go up to 9 stone ten.

I think what is the point and just stuff my face. I am only hurting myself though and it doesn't change the fact I wasn't fed much as a kid Confused.

Keep checking in, loving this thread!

Today I've stuck to a handful of multi vitamins, a boiled egg, and a soup. Just had beans on toast for dinner.

As someone else said, retrain your brain to see hunger as a good thing....

foxinthebox · 17/08/2014 18:16

Slimming Tea attacked me 6 hours later. My 8 year old became concerned! Today, said tea, small banana, 5 ravioli that the children left over (Waitrose cheese and ham, so understandable really) and 3 small lamb chops with salad and a bit of yogurt.

I think i may rely heavily on The Tea.

Gelfie!! OMG I am DYING!

I have what my brother calls a "gunt". An unattractive bulge of tummy between the gut and the... You can guess.

I've had chicken and salad
plus a chocolate crispy cake

Going to try a 'cleanse' tea. Wish me luck :o

flightywoman · 17/08/2014 19:33

I weigh in tomorrow morning gulp, bloody hope this week's privations have been worth it, else you'll find me ears-deep in the cheese section of the nearest shop.

goldface · 17/08/2014 19:49

Remind me again about the shitters/slimmers tea? Is there a particular brand I need and can you get it from tescos? I think I really need some!

Trills · 17/08/2014 20:17

I think my main problem is the boooooze. It has calories in. And it encourages me to eat more things (both during and the next day).

500smiles · 17/08/2014 20:42

Ooh yay a diet thread where we don't get told off for being reckless Grin and hilarious too.

Trills · 17/08/2014 20:47

For dinner tonight I had this salad and a steak. I haven't cooked myself a steak in over 6 months and I really enjoyed it.

I've also got loads of the salad left which I'm going to take to work with tinned tuna. It's probably not really low-carb because chickpeas, but it's better than going to the sandwich shop.

Trills · 17/08/2014 20:48

No cleanse tea here but I have peppermint tea and I've retired with my book (and computer, obviously) to a room far away from the kitchen in an effort to not eat anything more this evening.

sunflower49 · 17/08/2014 20:51

Low carb, seriously it'll drop off! Enjoy your hol!

sunflower49 · 17/08/2014 20:52

There be no such thing as an '8 legged insect' Wink

(Sorry). :)

JamInMyWellies · 17/08/2014 21:11

I have laughed at least 2lb off reading this thread.

Have a great holiday op.

coffeeinbed · 17/08/2014 21:14

I has some lemon meringue tart tonight.

I was doing so well today - two little bits of chocolate in the morning and fish for dinner.
And then the bloody tart.

Deux · 17/08/2014 21:16

@Itsfab. Don't know what to say without sounding trite. Have you considered talking to someone about your feelings? Self loathing is hugely sabotaging. BTDT but not with food.

You are worth it, worth the effort, for you. And you do matter. Very unmumsnetty hugs and flowers to you.

Itsfab · 17/08/2014 21:19

sunflower - I was trying to be nice for those who are phobic enough to not even like to see the word..

Deux Flowers

i hate myself as I am horrible
