Paul McKenna's 'I Can Make You Thin' Thread #15...The New Beginning!

Welcome to thread #15 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

HELPFUL TIPS!
Lots of chewing; at least 20 chews per mouthful.

Ask yourself "am I really hungry?" Listen for your 'full signal' and leave at least a mouthful on your plate at every meal. Eat your favourite thing from your plate first so that if you get to the full signal, but have your favourite food still sitting there, you aren't going to 'make room' for it because you love it, it will have already gone.

Admire something about yourself every day in the mirror.
Try to move more; dance around the living room or walk to school...use the stairs...small things, but good things!

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth and body, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2014 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for the sunny summer time!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we won't be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process Smile so get stuck in Smile

Here is a link to From Emotional Eating which may give some insight into why we do this and help us beat it.

Ps. Could we all try to sign in at least every few days so that someone is there? We have established that it's no fun talking to ourselves and also that if there is a new joiner, it's good to say 'hello and welcome' to them too.

Ok! Let's Focus and See Ourselves wearing that body we desire! learning to love ourselves is an important daily step, so let's become LOSERS in order to be WINNERS!!! :)

Thanks guys, I shall keep you updated!

Got a sick child here :-( waiting on my dad to come pick her up. My parents are so good to us! I'm very thankful.

MillyDots · 27/08/2014 07:40

Bechod. Sorry your little ones not well.

MillyDots · 27/08/2014 07:41

"bless"

hamptoncourt · 27/08/2014 09:33

Sorry your LO isn't well guns.

I am working from home in my dressing gown eating cheesecake for breakfast today and have the EE book to plough through.

I am finding the havening really hard because I have a problem with my joints which means I literally cannot stroke my arms for that length of time. I have been using my fingers to stroke my face, back of hands and lower arms instead. Am hoping that it is still self comforting and will work.

Actually I "prayed" before delving into the cheesecake and have only had two spoonfuls and have put it back in the fridge so something is definitely working.

Yes to the tight black dress!! I am planning to wear either a body con navy dress that I can fit into OK now, or if I lose enough, a bodycon black dress. I cannot go too mad as my other colleagues will wonder what is afoot!!

Hope everyone has a good day.

MillyDots · 27/08/2014 10:00

Navy sounds gorgeous. I love navy. Sorry, I cant remember Hampton are you single?

hamptoncourt · 27/08/2014 10:15

Yes I am very happily single. This particular ex was emotionally abusive and broke my poor little heart so it is a ridiculously big deal to me.

Chances are he won't even show up but I will look my best just in case. I will try to upload a photo of the dress but I am a bit crap.

Here it is I think

MillyDots · 27/08/2014 11:10

That will do the job Hampton. Perfect. High heels at the ready I take it?
God, I would be a nervous wreck but would fake it all the way. ha ha.

gunsandbanjos · 27/08/2014 19:21

I'm sure you'll look great Hampton, hold your head high. You don't need emotional abuse in your life.

Solo · 27/08/2014 19:39

Lovely dress!!! :) I couldn't wear a dress like that these days as my legs 'ain't wot they used to be' Grin

guns I hope lo is ok.

I'm maintaining at the stone off level right now, but how I wish I could just get 4 1/2 lbs off so that I could trip the 13st something mark. But I will do it.

I'm supposed to be throwing a party in a months time, but I'm not feeling it right now and am thinking about cancelling it. Feel guilty about spending money so frivolously too, which doesn't help. But if I do chuck a party, I want to try to lose at least 3lbs a week until then which will take me to 13.6... Confused

MillyDots · 27/08/2014 21:12

Isn't it for your birthday Solo......big birthday Wink Why do you want to cancel, you had been looking forward to it ?

Solo · 27/08/2014 21:24

Yes. My birthday was nearly 6 months ago, but I decided to wait for a party. I'm just not feeling it right now.

OP posts:
MillyDots · 27/08/2014 21:51

Do what you really want too. Smile

gunsandbanjos · 27/08/2014 22:38

Has anyone else done the gastric band? I'm feeling really sicky full really quickly. Is that ok?

MillyDots · 27/08/2014 23:23

Yes, I do the band regularly and I get " satisfied" very quickly.

Solo · 28/08/2014 01:41

Guns try not to drink close to either side of your meal.

Sounds like it's working for you! Grin. This is how I was when I listened the first time, but the second time I listened it seemed to undo it and I can't get it back :(

Milly I will do, but I have to either cancel the venue or start preparations really soon.

Solo, I am at that stage too, made the mistake of weighing yesterday and have lost 1/2 a lb Angry but better than 1/2lb on ...

Need to loose 5lbs to get to 13 stone something - was really hoping to do it before term starts again.

We will get there - little steps lead to little achievable goals which lead to amazing achievements in the end.

Would it help to have your party as a goal to aim for? Or cancel it and take the pressure off yourself.

Off to listen to one of the tracks before dd gets up now.

JeniJones · 28/08/2014 14:22

I have installed the gastric band and am eating a lot less. I start eating and then stop pretty quickly as I feel I have had enough. I weigh 14:5 and am 5ft 9. Reading some of your posts, I see that some of you are similar weight and height. I think I would like to be 12 stone as that would be a size 14 for me and I don't want to lose too much as I think it could be ageing. Getting to the "13stone something" would be brilliant for me too. Smile

Solo · 28/08/2014 16:27

Ooh! 1/2lb off is OFF not on! how fabulous!! Grin but on that note ladies; when you do get the weight off; when you are having friends/family/colleagues etc say things like "Wow! you look great! how did you do it?!!" please don't do what I did and go back to your old ways. I had lost 2 st 2lbs and I put every single ounce back on. It made me angry with myself and I felt a failure. This way of eating is very doable in everyday 'normal' weight life, so please please please think, tap, haven. Listen to the cd's, post on here, but don't lose sight of what it is you have done here :) lecture over!!

Don't know mrs re the party. I think it might just be that I have passed my actual 50th birthday and maybe I just don't need to do the big celebration party. Don't know if it's the extra weight I'm carrying that's causing the thoughts, but it could certainly be the financial outlay. We shall see!

Well, I think my HGB is working! I'm struggling to eat more than a couple of mouthfuls of food at a time!

I over ate a little this afternoon and have had the most uncomfortable feeling under my ribs on the right hand side ever since!
