sleep I did similar on my birthday this year. As of next year I'm celebrating it in summer!

I've weighed in today and weight loss is 18.2lb, a few more lb and I'll be halfway although I know that I will find it harder.

Weighed the baby this morning and she weigjs the same as I have lost. Puts it into perspective because I ache when I carry her any distance!

bigwelly congrats on the loss.

Tomorrow will be a new start (pancakes tonight so I am discounting today). I have just over 20 weeks until we go away - 1lb a week would put me just over 12st and I would feel that much better, so that is my new goal.

I am a bit of a lurker too... Thought about posting after Xmas, I didn't and have done terribly with dieting so far this year, so thought I should join in properly! I lost a few pounds initially but have put some back on and am now the same weight I was on 13th January. It is reassuring to see I'm not alone and inspiring to read your successes.

I find MFP a bit fiddly . Am doing 80/20 paelo primal which elimates the calorie counting. I still cook carbs for DH and kids but not me. The whole families diet has improved .

I'm not religious as such but does anyone fancy giving something foody up for lent?

I'm considering all sugar, can't quit caffeine but reckon that i could quit all sugar

Hello! 2lbs off this week so now have finally lost 14lbs after 8 weeks, so doing slightly better than a pound a week.
Bigwelly - was thinking of trying to lose sugar from my teas and coffees during Lent but I have made so many alterations in my lifestyle these past few weeks that I don't know if I can add in one more at this moment. The odd cup of coffee with a sugar in it is like a small 30 cal treat that makes me feel cosy and loved and helps me to get through a tricky hour. So am thinking of losing the sugar on two days of the week to see how I get on. Having said that I am now adding Truvia to my coffees/teas. Is that the same as giving up sugar Grin?

what about a small spoon of honey instead peanutbutterandbanana ? I think the worst foods are artifical and extra refined ones.
Once you blitz refined sugar out of your diet it is amazing how sweet natural foods like fruit taste.

sneaks back in after a long time away

Hello all Grin

I was on first thread but totally lost my ways and slipped into old habits but I'm back properly now. I've not lost anything since I last logged but then again I've not put any weight on either thankfully.

I had a bit of a moment on Friday and I think it properly hit home to me. I'm turning 30 next year and I will not be over weight at my surprise party WinkGrin and so I will do this.

Sorry quick post but toddler is demanding dinner Grin

Hi MummyDuck
I have fallen off the Lent bandwagon - had a lemon cheesecake. It was delicious. MFP keeps prompting me to update and I feel too guilty Blush

Bite the bullet (calorie free) and tell MFP the truth. You can run but you can't hide. Tomorrow is another day, onwards.

And OMG, lemon cheesecake. If there's a food worth hopping off the wagon for that's it!

Slimsoon - I actually use agave nectar rather than sugar, which has a better GI and is more natural. But would really like to stop needing sweeteners altogether. I had one tea yesterday without and it wasn't too bad. So my plan is to gradually have two a day without sweetener, then three etc. It is getting easier.

Have lost another 2.4 lbs this week so am thrilled to bits. 16.4lbs since 8th Jan, so very happy today. Resisting the temptation to not celebrate by eating everything in sight!

My enthusiasm for heathy eating is starting to wane but I am just about managing. I currently hate my job and my boss and I am trying to sell my house. It is all very stressful, particularly without wine and chocolate.

I was on the original thread, stuck with tracking on mfp and lost track of this thread. Some of the people I was on mfp with seem to have moved on. If anyone wants to stay in touch via mfp my id is purplechants
I'm doing 5:2 and have lost 23lb since the new year

Only lost 0.4lb this week but forgot to post. Think that I am getting to think 'this is easy' and it isn't. You need to concentrate all the time. If you let one day run away then you cannot let another one get a grip.

Hi eggyfartpants - I'm betsysbesty on mfp - you've done so well! Congrats. You are going to go all the way Smile You are almost at the half way mark for the 52lbs!

Hi eggy and peanutbutter, you've both done well on MFP. And you're absolutely right about the need for continued vigilance! I've slipped this week and put on nearly 3 pounds. Just lost focus and ate loads of carbs.

Need to get my head back in the game tomorrow. Good luck to anyone else doing the same.

I like this thread as even when I have a fairly crappy week I can console myself with still being ahead of my goal.

Gosh, only three posts since my post on Sunday. Where has everyone gone?

I've lost another pound this week.... I'm getting my focus back and I'm hoping that next week will see a bigger loss. I've lost 18lbs so far and so another three will make 1.5 stone and I would so like to get there before Easter! MFP and 5:2 have really helped me get this far. I have NEVER stuck to a programme for this long before. This is a year long project for me and I really hope I can stay the course.

I have been sort of lurking. I started on Jan 4th with the aim to lose 3 stone for July time -I want to keep going though on my return and the 52lbs in 52weeks seems a really good way to look at it.
I have lost 20lbs (6 pounds loss first week and averaging around 1lb a week since) Almost at the halfway mark for my 3 stone by July.
Just got to keep going and remembering not to jack it all in if I have the occasional slip up!
If anyone wants to follow me on MFP I have the same user name.
