New thread ...

Mmmmm ... not a very fair deal at all!

I wish I could send you all a piece ... then I wouldn't have to eat it and some of the calories would end up on someone else's hips

OP posts:
suejonez · 04/08/2006 13:45

"I wish"... don;t need to wish WWB - bet there's a perfectly good post office somewhere near you

winnie · 04/08/2006 13:45

Good luck Sue. I hope you hear soon
The idea of squashing them into submission is great

WWB, in order to stop the temptation I suggest you send everyone on this thread a piece of Tiffin

WigWamBam · 04/08/2006 13:45

Dd's friend has left a large lump of hers ... do I throw it in the bin or do I polish it off?

Such a dilemma ...

OP posts:
winnie · 04/08/2006 13:46

crossed posts... you see ... thats why we are all here ... we think the same

JackieNo · 04/08/2006 13:48

Bin it - quick, before you have a chance to change your mind...

schneebly · 04/08/2006 13:49

Glad you don't mind sue

WigWamBam · 04/08/2006 13:53

I've binned it [saintly emoticon]

Actually, for the first time in ages I don't feel the need to sit and scoff the lot. Normally chocolate niggles and niggles at me and I have to eat it all, but I've had my piece (a small one, too ... polishes that halo again) and feel quite satisfied with it.

OP posts:
JackieNo · 04/08/2006 13:55

Good on you, WWB. Weirdly, I've been much the same - do you think it's true that the more you have, the more you want? I just don't crave it the way I used to (although that's not to say I don't crave other unhealthy things, just that it's not always chocolate, the way it used to be).

suejonez · 04/08/2006 13:55

I'm lucky I can resist choclate whereas cheese .....

Thats the other difference WWB, brown eyes/blue eyes & cheese vs chocolate

schneebly · 04/08/2006 13:58

I like chocolate and cheese and crisps, chinese takeaway, real coke, pizza.....

WigWamBam · 04/08/2006 13:58

I crave nice things - I can't keep chocolate, crisps or biscuits in the house otherwise I binge on them. And yes, the more I have the more I want.

But today I got jam tarts out when dd's friend and her mum came round and I didn't want one, I have biscuits, chocolate and maltesers left over from making the tiffin and I haven't even been tempted to pick at them - I feel in control today, and I really feel quite positive about it.

OP posts:
suejonez · 04/08/2006 13:59

thats a nice way to start the weekend, in control, long may it continue.

WigWamBam · 04/08/2006 13:59

It's a good thing you have different coloured eyes and a cheese craving, Sue, because otherwise I would think that someone had cloned me in my sleep!

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 04/08/2006 14:00

Oh yes, I hope it continues. It's a weird feeling because I'm not used to it - I'm terrible, when there's food around I physically can't control myself.

Maybe things are getting better!

OP posts:
suejonez · 04/08/2006 14:02

Its a good feeling to hang onto so you can remember when you're not in control that it isn't ALWAYS like that. The aim I guess is to expand the in control moments and gradually reduce the out of contrl moments.

suejonez · 04/08/2006 14:03

Anyone seen Littlebitshy around? wanted to arrange coffee with her on Saturday.

WigWamBam · 04/08/2006 14:04

Yes, you're right ... as usual!

I wonder what it is that triggers those feelings? Or that sometimes makes you feel that you can control it? Mind you, if we knew that we wouldn't need to be here, would we!

OP posts:
JackieNo · 04/08/2006 14:04

Yes, suejonez, and for the in control moments to become 'normal', rather than 'wow' like they are for me at the moment!

Littlefish · 04/08/2006 14:14

The word "normal" is my ultimate goal. To eat foods in a normal way, to think about food in a normal way, to eat normal size portions etc. etc. etc.

However, to achieve this, I'm going to have to try ABnormally hard!

JackieNo · 04/08/2006 14:16

Yes littlefish - hit the nail on the head.

Littlefish · 04/08/2006 14:17

Right - if we're talking about food, here's a menu to make you drool.

I'm making the cricket tea for my dh's game tomorrow.

The menu is:

Home made pork pie
Home made bacon and onion quiche
Home made tomato, onion mushroom and cheddar quiche
Sausage rolls (not home made - couldn't be arsed!)
Tuna, egg, ham and cheese sandwiches in various combinations with or without salad etc.
Home made Victoria Sponge with cream and jam
Home made scones with jam and cream
Chocolate sponge
Chocolate and coconut bars.

I'm doing all the savoury stuff and my MIL is doing all the cakes.

My house is filled with the most gorgeous cooking smells and so far I haven't eaten any of it!!!!

schneebly · 04/08/2006 14:17

lol jackie! You managed to type the phrase properly unlike me on my DS1 thread!

suejonez · 04/08/2006 14:19

does anyoe else get slightly panicky about food eg going to aother people houses - will they serve enough carbohydrates, should I have something to eat before I go so I don't eat too much when I'm there. How will I make it all the way from work wihout eating anything - atcually beginning to get to grips with that one.

I find it odd becuase left to my own devices i don't find a compelling need to eat most of the time, its mostly when I have to start dealing with food in public that i panic.

suejonez · 04/08/2006 14:20

have dribbled all over my keyboard now as I haven't had lunch yet - off out to M&S with my mum in a mo but bet its not as tasty as your homemade stuff.
