Wanted to share something said to me at work today...was waiting in the lift lobby and a lady struck up a conversation with me about how she was off to get a sweet treat as she'd done a gym sesh with a big run yesterday and was starving. I said how much I love running and asked if she'd tried having a but of protein after a run to stave off the sugar craving. to my complete fucking dismay she said "I can see you run, you look lovely and slim". Now I sincerely apologise for how wanky that sounds, but she said it so genuinely (I can't recreate it well in text) and it's so bloody long since anyone has said I'm slim (I'm a size 10/12 now) that it made my day

Thanks all. I've noticed a teeeny difference but I'm very very overweight and still a size20 ish so not much. Am hoping a dress I tried on before Xmas fits me better when I try it on next week!

Cheesey - that is not wanky at all. It's lovely to get a compliment Smile

MrsBradfield · 03/02/2014 20:14

Well done messy!

84outof14610 · 03/02/2014 23:19

Thanks for all your advice and tips...day one DONE! Raspberry shake inedible but porridge bar and pasta bearable...especially with black perp per galore.

cheesy womble and letsface you've been my inspiration to get started on this from reading this thread so cheesy when you get a wanky Wink comment which includes the word slim Envy LAP IT UP!!!! That's what I'm gonna do when I get there...day 2...hurry up ketosis!

tiggermummy70 · 04/02/2014 07:44

hi everyone sorry I've been awol, family stuff getting in way.
weigh in yesterday 4.6lb for week total lost at end of wk3 14.6lb. More importantly for me bf is finally below 40 %! Slightly embarrassing that it was that high. I'll reach my lowest weight in 10+years if I can lose another 9lb....

tarajupp · 04/02/2014 08:23

Well done messy and tigger!

Wow cheesy that sounds fab, definitely not wanky. Makes it worthwhile! My husband and lots of people at work have noticed and said lovely things which really helps when I'm hungry in the evening and standing tempted in front of the fridge Grin

Hi to everyone starting - good luck! To give you hope - I have lost 11kg (just over 24lb) in 4 weeks - I look forwarded to hearing your weight losses soon!

Jellypudmum · 04/02/2014 14:54

Started Exante yesterday; ok but feeling very hungry (no surprise) and too much water is making me feel sick)! Today got a terrible headache! Have done Lighterlife before and can't remember it being so tough (selective memory)? Please tell me it gets better and that these side effects will soon pass.
Health wise it need to lose at least 6 stone and this feels like my last chance. So don't want to give up!!!

Cheesyslice · 04/02/2014 20:56

jelly Hang in there. It WILL get better Thanks

I got weighed again today. I've stayed the same. Again. Humph. However, despite the plateau, I've still lost two stone and I'm still here. I'm happier than I've been in a long time and I've binned all my fat clothes. I no longer worry about being overweight. I have been diagnosed with IBS and it's having a massive impact on my weight loss. Does anyone else suffer from this and if so, how do you manage it? I may do a separate thread.

84 I could hug you for saying that I'm an inspiration to you Thanks

84outof14610 · 04/02/2014 23:38

Aw hugs very welcome cheesey....though you're gonna need long freaking arms to get them round this wee barrel!

Messy, jelly and Tara....HELLO....what plans everyone on and who knows the secret to getting these shakes down??? #notafan

Day 2 done...headaches, waking up in the middle of the night to (and i quote my lovely better half) "piss like a shire horse".....hungry hungry hungry...come on ketosis!

IndecisivePramBuyer81 · 05/02/2014 08:26

Everyone sounds like they're doing really well - am really impressed with some of your losses!

I, on the other hand am getting pissed off with it now. I haven't lost anything since Sat and have half a pound until I can say I've lost a stone. I knew it would slow down but how is it possible to weigh over 14 stone, eat 600 cals a day and not lose a couple of pound a week?

Thoroughly fucked off this morning. My life is on hold for this diet!Angry

Sad
tiggermummy70 · 05/02/2014 11:03

Indecisive have you checked how much your eating on NFDs?

If your going over too far you won't get the loss.

deficit needs to be 3500 total at end of week to log an approximate 1lb loss.
Also look at your hydration as I don't loose anything if I don't drink enough. (alcohol unfortunately doesn't count)

I've been stuck for 12 months only because I'm on a research project I am loosing now.

keep going.

tiggermummy70 · 05/02/2014 11:09

sorry Indecisive I've probably confused you as I've put some info for someone else on a different thread on post to you.
knew today was going to be bad....Grin Grin Grin Angry

let's start again.

Do try to remember the less you have to loose the harder it will be.

the bit about hydration is still valid. I am drinking on average 4 pints water, I was too busy sorting out stuff on Sunday and only drank about 2 pints, scale reading Monday = 0 loss Sad

I don't count the water in my coffee I prefer to log just water I drink as water.

Cheesyslice · 05/02/2014 11:11

84 'shire horse'

indecisive KEEP GOING! I really! really sympathise. You will have weeks when the weight loss just doesn't happen, but if you keep going it will show the next week. It's so bloody hard. Hang in there.

Good day so far. Had a hot vanilla shake with fibre mix. I'm working from home due to the tube strikes so planning a nice LighterLife friendly chicken curry tonight I'm also off for a quick mooch around the shops

Cheesyslice · 05/02/2014 11:12

Oh and totally agree with the water thing. It makes all the difference. I'm amazed at the colour of my wee Grin

I had a 3lb loss this week - however that only really brings me back to my pre-Christmas/birthday weight.

Have really really struggled to get back on plan in January - probably ended up with about 4 weeks off plan; but now am re-focussed.

I still have many stones to go - but taking it one day at a time.

Got into size 16 jeans at the weekend, nearly died with the shock - bit tight so didn't buy them, but still its an incentive.

tiggermummy70 · 05/02/2014 13:58

angelinterceptor : That's a good place to be, you've caught up and can now move forward again.
I've still got another 7lbs to go to get back to my lowest weight in three years. Then I can start making proper progress.

Cheesyslice · 05/02/2014 15:02

angel I'm the same. Christmas just kicked me in the arse. But, we're all still here!

Jellypudmum · 05/02/2014 17:20

Day 3 on Exante, didn't get chance to have my shake at lunch so just had my second pack!
Still starving and finding it so hard to get the water down!! :(

pyrowall · 05/02/2014 19:57

Hello everybody!!
I'm on day 2 of s&s and so far I'm coping ok! Not particularly hungry, drinking my water - but I have a niggling headache!
Chicken and roast veg and jelly tonight to follow on from my cottage pie and strawberry shake - Nom nom!

tarajupp · 06/02/2014 01:01

Hi new people - you'll be in ketosis sooner than you think! Then the hunger will mostly go

Indecisive- don't lose heart. You are doing so well. I stalled last week too, but made my self feel better by measuring inches instead and the next week the scales caught up Smile

Cheesy hope you don't mind me saying but I agree with 84 - you are definitely an inspiration. Having a bad week - my grandma is really unwell and I want to comfort eat so much, but hearing from someone who has stuck with this and seen the sort of results I need keeps me going. Thank you.

Cheesyslice · 06/02/2014 07:26

Tara Grin Hope your grandma gets well very soon.

I'm holding all my meetings in Costa this afternoon instead of going to the office bloody tube strike so will be surrounded by delish coffee and cake Angry

tiggermummy70 · 06/02/2014 08:31

chessy hope you like fruit tea. good luck resisting.

I go to costa every thurs evening as I have an hour to wait for DD1 to finsh Beavers not worth going home.

I succumbed to real food last night we have a friend & godfather to our girls that visits most wed nights. usual is to order takeaway and they had curry last night. I ended up with chicken tikka and single poppadom. But I did sleep loy better. Angry naughty me.
still seem to be in ketosis so may have got away with it.

Cheesyslice · 06/02/2014 12:04

It's good to have a treat sometimes. The hardest thing is getting back on the wagon straight away. If you can nail that then you'll be fine.

I can't have fruit tea on LL...it can take you out of ketosis Angry Tea with sweetener it is!

tiggermummy70 · 07/02/2014 11:48
