TOTM is an arseache when it comes to weight loss. So demotivating.

Are you going to indulge in cake?

MrsBradfield · 07/02/2014 20:55

Weighed this morning have PUT ON 3 lbs WT ACTUAL F??? Can anyone explain why this may have happened? Only thing non VLCD I've had is a tuna wrap home made with nothing else in apart from tuna and the wrap. No fizzy drinks only water not on TOTM either.

Whhhyyyyy??? Just makes me want to give up tbh

tiggermummy70 · 07/02/2014 21:00

I might have a little slice, I like making cakes but not always so bothered about eating them.
I dable in making themed cakes for girls, they do like to challenge me at times.
Made DD1 1-3 year cakes she insisted on shop one for 4th then her 5th. I ended up making three for dif events for her 6th. Haven't made on for 7th, Grandma made on for tonight. we're travelling now to Dad's on M11 as I type! Adopted Sister is making one for her at Nanny's surprise party sat eve. Last year I made her a princess dress on a stand. This year she was debating a princess/batman theme Grin Grin Grin Grin

So, I'm only on day 5. Had really bad news this afternoon and have now eaten bread & pizza. I feel so cross with myself. Trying hard to restart tomorrow!Hmm

Cheesyslice · 07/02/2014 22:18

Aww tigger Grin

mrsbradfield It's shit when that happens. Been there. It will be water weight. Or maybe your body is clinging on to the wrap and tuna. Sounds odd but my counsellor says this is really common. Keep on it and hopefully it will be gone in no time at all Thanks

Thanks cheesy Thanks gonna get new scales tomorrow as my ones also have a low battery which may also contribute.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 07/02/2014 23:26

I have selflessly investigated the effects of having wine and carbs
Talk about cheap date. Yee ha!
Will report on the hangover tomorrow.

Cheesyslice · 08/02/2014 17:36

Grin letsface That is really generous of you. So selfless.

I will report on the effects of dinner and cocktails with the girls Wink wearing my new size 10 dress may I add

MrsBradfield hang on in there! I stalled due to being unwell, and didn't lose til the week after. Maybe use lettuce leaves instead of a wrap?? Smile

tigger those cakes sound amazing. next week I have to make a cake for DS's 3rd birthday - how am I not going to lick the bowl!!

Emotional eating is so hard jellypud - my grandma is really unwell and everyone keeps offering food, I turned down all the cake but then went and bought a packet of chicken slices - didn't make me feel better Sad but at least still in ketosis.

Managed a party last night with only one glass of bubbly - never knew I could. Was so good not to be the biggest in the room for once!

LifeIsBetterInFlipFlops · 08/02/2014 22:10

Well done all of you - I've been resolved everyday to start this, but just cannot stick to it or any diet. I have the reasons to lose weight, hate the way I look, and an event in May which I want to be 2 stone slimmer for - but just can't do it, even though I've been avidly following this thread and seen your successes. Just pathetic.

MrsBradfield · 08/02/2014 22:43

You can do it life, I've found the support on here to be really good, and whilst I've had a small setback, the thought of being slimmer really is a big help as I know that the diet does work and will prob drop the 3lbs that went on this week. Also once in ketosis it is SO much easier when you aren't feeling as hungry.

LifeIsBetterInFlipFlops · 08/02/2014 22:47

Thank you MrsB - I just need to activate my willpower.
It's really great hearing how much everyone has lost - and at the time I'm reading the thread I'm really inspired, but putting it into practice is another story...

LifeIsBetterInFlipFlops · 09/02/2014 06:48

Morning All - gonna crack this, Day One (again). DH is away for a couple of weeks, so I can really get into this before he returns.

Katsand · 09/02/2014 13:18

Hi all. Have just read through the thread. Well done to all of you!!!! I have decided to try Cambridge and it's the first time I do diet like this. Have done ww and low carb in past. Having my first appointment tomorrow. To my Cambridge friends out there any fav flavours and also very important what flavours to avoid???

LifeIsBetterInFlipFlops · 09/02/2014 18:08

Hi Kat - welcome to the party! How much do you want to lose?
Hopefully someone will advise you on Cambridge flavours soon.
Best of luck.

Katsand · 09/02/2014 18:36

Hi life. I got a long way to go. I think I'm about 17 stones so at least 5 to 6 stones. But will take it week by week and see where I end up :-)

Cheesyslice · 09/02/2014 19:06

life Just give it a few days and you will see the weight loss. This is such a great motivator.

katsand Welcome! Good luck with Cambridge. There are a couple of ladies on here doing it.

So went out with the girls last night. Had a Greek meal so went for chargrilled chicken, veg and rice. Also had a couple of sneaky wines and some bread, but didn't go nuts. Didn't weight myself this morning, but have just had four packs today so hoping for a loss at my weigh in tomorrow evening.

How has everyone's weekends been?

OP posts:
tiggermummy70 · 10/02/2014 07:41

I'm about to start week 4 of Cambridge. I am doing it as part of research study so I am on 4 packs/day +750mls skim milk.

I managed to survive weekend of surprise party and sunday lunch on top of totm I still recorded a loss albeit a very small one!
Think today is going to be quite hard to get back into the swing of normal, I see lots and lots of water in my future!

Cheesyslice · 10/02/2014 08:01

Morning ladies. Did you all have a good weekend? DH and I have been struck down with colds, this was nicely timed to coincide with DS deciding to drop his afternoon nap so we basically spent all weekend trying not to murder each other. Fabulous.

Was 10st 5 on the scales this morning so hoping for a decent loss at weigh in tonight.

angelinterceptor · 10/02/2014 11:32

I had an unplanned trip to pizza express yesterday - so gonna weigh in tomorrow instead!
Hating this whole thing and fed uo

tiggermummy70 · 10/02/2014 14:07

weigh in for me today half way point on packets only. Another 4 weeks and then real food.Grin

tiggermummy70 · 10/02/2014 18:00

and weigh in complete this week =3.5lbs lost. total over 4 weeks 17lbs Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Still find it boring I'm afraid, I would worry if you have food issues you could very quickly become obsessed with the food you can't have.
Knowing I will finish completely in another 8 weeks I do find helpful.

When you order packs from your co-cordinators do you dicuss any issues and ways to avoid putting the weight back on when you stop?

PowderMum · 10/02/2014 18:23

Can I join?

Starting Cambridge tomorrow on Step 1 and I have to lose at least 5 stone and would like to lose 7. Dr had given me a good talking to and I really have no excuse now not to get myself sorted.

I've done LL before about 7-8 years ago so I know what to expect and I'm dreading it.

IndecisivePramBuyer81 · 10/02/2014 19:46

Evening all! sorry, been awol since my stress out last week! I officially lost a stone in the end and today is the start of TOTM so hopefully have a good loss once that's finished!

I can't remember who asked about Cambridge and my phone won't let me check I'm afraid but personally I love the cappuccino shake with a spoon of proper coffee in as my first shake of the day, I add the ready made chocolate shake with black coffee when I'm put with friends as a sort of mocha (yum!) and I also love the toffee walnut shake-it's my new favourite! Soup wise, I think the chicken & mushroom is best and the lemon yoghurt bar is awesome Grin the only one thing I haven't liked so far is the spicy tomato soup
bleurgh!

New starters - you've just got to get past the first few days and you're off! and after that first weigh in, you're well away! Grin

Katsand · 10/02/2014 20:36

Thank you ms indecisive. First day today. Strawberry a no no. Chocolate was ok. Mango yummy :-). So it's the first day and I'm feeling fine so far but how do you cook without tasting food??? I still have to cook for my children and husband. So my solution was to lick a potato ( I was cooking a all in one tray baked cod with potato) !!!! Just needed to know it wasn't too salty. So how do " normal" people do it lol
