Well even after two days stuffing my face and getting pissed in Italy, I still lost 1 lb! I'm know it's a tiny amount but I'm so pleased. It takes me to 10st 7lb which is what I weighed at my heaviest at uni. One stone to go until I can start maintenance. Happy days.

Has everyone else had a good day?

I'm on my second week of s&s. Really chuffed at losing 9lbs but now have woken up with a stinking cold and TOTM and feel rubbish. Been consoling myself with vanilla flavoured coffee whilst telling myself "feeding the cold" won't help Hmm

ChestyNut · 27/01/2014 20:07

Im huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuungrrrrrrrrrrry Sad

lemontop · 27/01/2014 20:53

Venus that's amazing! I am weighing in tomorrow. Bit nervous. I find it so much easier when I am at work and keeping busy, the weekend definitely made me hungrier. I find as I am up so early with the kids I have to have my packs earlier in the day, which leaves me with a very grumbly tummy in the evening.

tarajupp · 27/01/2014 22:16

Well I was so cross with not losing on Sat I reweighed today and had lost a kilo. Lots of people at work said I looked slimmer, my new size 16 swimming costume fits, and when I was in the steam room at the gym (admittedly with a skinny blonde girl) a man came in and said he thought he was in 'the Miss World steam room'. So lots of reasons to carry on! Grin

Just had exante red bean chilli - yum. But still hungry - time for lots more water...

tiggermummy70 · 27/01/2014 23:12

official weigh today and 3lb loss.

I need advice daughters birthday in couple of weeks, can I get away with eating a meal with messing up ketosis?

ChestyNut · 28/01/2014 07:00

tiger if you stick to small bit of protein and low carb veg you may be ok but......

For me it's a slippery slope and eating off plan leads to a spiral of eating lots of stuff I shouldn't Blush

tiggermummy70 · 28/01/2014 09:52

thanks chesty.
might try that if needed.

I am monitored every week in 1:1 session so that should keep me on track! I hope, finding diet boring is more likely to put me off.

IndecisivePramBuyer81 · 28/01/2014 12:44

Well we went to a Mexican restaurant in London last night and I resisted a burrito and chocolate tart and had a chicken salad and passion fruit sorbet instead Grin am v proud of myself! I also had half a glass of wine and wasn't really enjoying it so gave it away. Feeling fine today having had one milkshake so far so I must still be in ketosis Grin

Nervous for my weigh in on Thursday though - I hope there isn't much impact on the scales!

tiggermummy70 · 28/01/2014 16:51

well done indecisive major achievement no having something for sake of it! Grin

tiggermummy70 · 29/01/2014 08:42

I don't like weighing everyday but it's required on study. do like today's numbers 1.7lbs lost Grin
total so far 11.8lb happy dance

IndecisivePramBuyer81 · 29/01/2014 12:18

Thanks tigger and well done for that loss! I'm trying not to weigh every day but i can't help myself lol

Snoutthematter · 29/01/2014 19:44

First day and waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh I'm so fecking hungry!

Doesn't help that DH has just had a huge bowl of pasta and I wanted to stab him in the face.

ChestyNut · 29/01/2014 20:37

You can do it snout!

Week 2 weigh in 6lbs Smile

MrsBradfield · 29/01/2014 21:54

TOTM for me so hoping to see a decent loss on sat when I weigh, have been sticking to the diet and getting on with it ok, albeit a bit boring now but looking to try and lose 10 by my bday in 3 weeks time, 2nd day on exante after slim and save, the bars are lovely! The shakes are not as nice as s & a but different flavours so a change at least, the meal packs are...ok had pasta carbonara last night that was practically soup although followed instructions to letter, will add less water and cook for longer next time, had mushroom risotto tonight that looked v unappealing, was ok to eat, might add some veg to that next time. Got red bean chili tomorrow

Snoutthematter · 30/01/2014 20:25

Managed to get through last night - hallelujah!

Is anyone doing 4 packs a day on S&S? I was aiming for three but I had to add an extra bar today as I was ravenous. Just had the cheesy pasta (surely its false advertising given the measly amounts of pasta in there?!) but had it over some broccoli and cauliflower - is this ok??

How's everyone else doing today??

Womble1975 · 30/01/2014 20:35

I'm doing 4 packs on s&s - following the Simplicity plan. There's a meal tracker on the site which is really helpful and shows how many calories you have had in a day. With 4 packs + veg allowance I'm still way under 600 calories and don't feel hungry at all. Was doing another VLCD but s&s have the best tasting products. Love the cheesy pasta with cauliflower..

Snoutthematter · 30/01/2014 22:30

Thanks for the tip Womble - I stupidly assumed S&S was the same as Cambridge and have been trying to get through the day on three packs alone! No wonder I was so hungry yesterday.....

84outof14610 · 31/01/2014 14:18

Hi everyone...is there room for a newbie? Starting s&s on Monday....packs of space food have arrived, delivered by a rather dashing 'Mike' as promised in my text so that may be a weekly highlight! I'm feeling nervously excited and optimistic about the possible 'future me' but terrified of the pre ketosis stage...any top tips? Your posts are inspiring...fingers crossed I have the willpower too!

S&S Wk0
0lb loss 48lb to go :-\

Cheesyslice · 31/01/2014 14:31

84 there's always room for newbies! PMSL @ 'dashing Mike' Grin

My top tips for the first few days are tons of veg and tea with sweetener, plus loads of water. However I'm on LL Lite so I can still eat 'normal' food, so make sure you're allowed veg and milk if you have tea.

How is everyone? I'm having a good week, hoping for a decent loss on Monday. Only one stone to go before I can start maintenance...

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 31/01/2014 15:59

Wish me luck everyone. I've stuck to S&S 4 packs for a month and lost 18lb. I'm going out tonight. No alcohol but I'm not sitting in a restaurant with a face like a fiddle. I'm having a bar on the way there to take the edge off the hunger, having lots of fizzy water and then I'm going to stick to meat and fish. It's TAPPAS so I'm staying off carbs. Olives are allowed on S&S though Grin

84outof14610 · 31/01/2014 16:33

Thanks cheesy it's quite a bit of room my newbie fat ass will take up! Loving your positive 'good week' attitude...Mike was quite a treat Wink

facethemusic as you're 4 successful weeks into my 'really does start Monday' plan can you give me the lowdown...how much are you hoping to loose? 18lb seems like a great first month loss? Did you cut out caffeine as it suggests? Tell me everything please and as you say 'fizzy water and NO carbs' or there may be trouble ahead Grin

84outof14610 · 31/01/2014 16:55

P.s. Given we're allowed herbs and fry light oil am I too optimistic to think I could smear the tiniest bit of pesto on any protein I'm allowed on the lifestyle plan...balsamic vinegar? Soy sauce? Anything with real flavour...or is that just setting my self up for failure? Also...can I drink earl grey tea? What are the best S&S space food options? Starting to feel real now....and REAL SOS panic of the toast buds is setting in, any advice for my last suppers to make the transition and getting to ketosis any easier?

Womble1975 · 31/01/2014 18:21

I would try and cut the carbs down before you start else the "carb" withdrawal can be difficult. I mix curry powder with some of the meals, cinnamon in with the oatmeal, black pepper with the soup. They don't taste bad though I think you will be surprised. The praline bars are yummy like ferroro rocher. Personally I wouldn't go with the pesto as it's got cheese in, but I know it would be a slippery slope for me. I lost over 6 stone a few years ago on this but had my daughter so back on it now. It works for me as I don't have to worry about weighing food etc etc and the results are fast (I'm impatient) Grin water water water is the key though. Especially the first week to keep you going. I keep a 2l bottle in the fridge so I can keep track of what I've drunk. It's also nice to make the shakes with as nice and cold.
Good luck and just tell yourself after the first few days it will get easier. I feel so much better already and have so much more energy.
Keep setting yourself small goals which will keep you focused instead of the long term. I treat myself once I hit each stone with a beauty treatment or something not food related.
Good luck Grin

Womble1975 · 31/01/2014 18:28

Ps earl grey is a tricky one as it has bergamot oil in which is a citrus derivative so could affect ketosis. Lady grey definitely is a no no. Some people are ok with earl grey but it all depends on how your body reacts. I think anything from a leaf or flower is ok. HTH
