Hello and seasons greetings everyone Xmas Smile

I thought it would be nice to have a fitness fred to cheer each other on when we begin our excise routines this January. This is what you need to do:

  1. Sign in and introduce yourself
  2. Tell us what exercise you plan on doing come January 2014
  3. Tell us how you will treat yourself

Also, you don't have to do this but I love this website www.calm.com/ - they have a wonderful 2 minute meditation :)

And for those who tell me to start now... sod that, it is Christmas!!!

Hi I'm Milk :) I like talking on these threads as although weight loss is not my only goal, you ladies are very motivated and I need that kick up the ass! As for exercise, I shall be doing a 30 minute exercise DVD once a day :)

milk · 27/12/2013 09:57

I know I said January, but I hope you all don't mind if I only start on the 2nd and skip the 1st.

I'm in! I need to lose approx 4stone Blush so have decided to start with couch to 5k as tried it before with some success - I shall also be drinking 2ltr water a day.

My treat will be looking in a mirror without feeling quite so bad!!!!!

MrsM2509 · 27/12/2013 11:54

I'm Lindsay, starting weight watchers Monday 30th dec, plan on going to gym 3-4 times a week, and on the days I don't go, use vibration plate at home for 30 mins. I also quite like the Leslie sansone walking at home on you tube, if anyone hasn't heard of it you should have a look.

I've quite a few stone to lose, but taking it 1 stone at a time xx

CharlieAlphaKiloEcho · 27/12/2013 12:10

ohh I'm in.

I've just signed up to a run school which is scary as I cannot run. They are promising to train even the hopeless runners so we'll test that theory... That's an hour a week.

DD does parkrun on saturdays so I will also be starting that. I am planning on walking to start with. Especially as I will have DS.4 with me.

I'll probably fit in two hours of Yoga and I'm trying to find a zumba class that will fit in with my week.

I've about 3 ston to lose and I'd like to really make exercise a huge part of my routine. The food side of things I've been shifting around for a while and I know I struggle to follow through on strict diets.

Lj8893 · 28/12/2013 18:19

Hi!

I have about 4 stone to lose (if not more!!). I've just had a baby and got engaged on Xmas day and there is no way I will get married looking like I do now.
As well as dieting I plan to do:

Coach to 5k which is 3 times a week walk/jog for 30mins
A fitness DVD 2 times a week
Every day a 20 minute toning routine (sit ups, press ups, lunges and the dreaded plank!)

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 28/12/2013 19:40

Congratulations, Lj!
I only have a couple of kilos to lose - after losing 10kg a few years ago, I set myself an upper weight limit, so that I never have to lose that much again. I'm a kilo over it or at least I was before Christmas, so I need to take action.
But regardless of weight loss, I really need to exercise. I started working from home a few months ago and now I'm pretty much stationary all day every day.
I want to do the 30 day Shred but I've tried it twice before and was in so much pain after the first day that I gave up. So I'd like to get to a state of fitness that I can actually complete it!
I want to do a combination of cardio and toning. I'm not sure how I'll fit it into the toddler-nursery-work schedule though. That is the tricky bit. But it has to happen.
I'll probably do DVDs/a youtube work out and maybe go running if the weather isn't too bad.
My treat will be doing things just for me - going to the cinema or ballet, or even just cooking food that I like but DP doesn't.

putyourhatonsweetie · 29/12/2013 08:39

Hi,

I'm in, I have plenty to lose in an ideal world, but having lost a lot already 5 kilos would be enough to help me feel great.

Seem to have got away with Christmas (hurray) but due to an injury can no longer do running and crossfit. I therefore need to swim and walk which is not quite my style!

Also going booze free for at least January

Would love people to talk to here as it will stop me boring people in real life, I am quite an all or nothing sort of girl so tend towards the obsessive!

Cheers, and good luck everyone

milk · 29/12/2013 09:44

Welcome everyone :) Hope you all had a good Christmas :)

I woke up and decided to start Slim in 6 Shock It was OK but I am sure my legs will feel it tomorrow. I thought this morning if I start the programme today, I will be finished by 8th February which will hopefully mean a better Valentine's day for DH :)

Morning Smile

2 stone to lose here and huge wobbly bits to tone - combination of 4 dc and a pretty severe ankle injury last Easter.

plan is c25k with 10k in March and hopefully build up to 1\2 marathon in Sept.

so running 3-4 times a week with yoga on the other days and maybe just maybe the shred when I am a bit fitter!

diet wise I am cutting out the alcohol and am going back on my green juices.

not starting until Jan 1st though need one last blow out

milk · 29/12/2013 10:00

whojamaflip What are "green juices"?

OP posts:
HoneyandRum · 29/12/2013 11:00

I want to lose weight and be healthier in 2014. I successfully lost about 1/2 stone last year with no exercise but then let life crowd out the focus in my brain and have put it back on.

Exercise wise I plan on going back to weight training twice a week and gradually adding more exercise: walking and swimming. Starting slow but steady, I want to make each new change a permanent habit so setting my goals at a reasonable level.

Currently 10.5 stone and a rotund 12 (think muffin-top). I have "big legs" right now and if I slim those down in a few months I will be more than impressed.

In my 40s and weight is much harder to shift these days.

milk · 29/12/2013 11:16

Who is going to be brave enough to take photographs of themselves in their undies so when you have reached your goal you can compare?

OP posts:
Pokeroot · 29/12/2013 11:21

I'm in!

I need to lose about 1 1/2 stone to get a healthy bmi.

My exercise plan is to run, I'll do the couch to 5k again and I will also do the 30 day shred/other exercise videos a couple of times a week.

My diet plan is to eat less chocolate and other rubbish and reduce portion sizes.

Pokeroot · 29/12/2013 11:23

Milk a couple of years ago I took photo's of me like that, I've lost a least a stone since then but I don't know where the photos are!

whojamaflip · 29/12/2013 12:51

I use veg juice to replace at least one meal a day - have a look at Jason Vale online ( can't link on phone)

I find I feel much better when I have juices and its so easy just to throw a selection of whatever veg I have in the fridge in and drink them - I have never been able to sit down and eat veg or salads without feeling hard done by so juices work really well for me.

putyourhatonsweetie · 29/12/2013 19:50

Not sure I can face pics in undies...I'm so much wobblier than I would like to be because of my injury.... But love to see others!

Pokeroot · 29/12/2013 21:41

There is no way I would post the pics for the world to see! I would die of shame embarrassment.

whojamaflip · 29/12/2013 22:06

Think I would post pics online......

but only when I am a slim toned goddess Grin never

milk · 30/12/2013 12:08

I've taken photos but only for my own use, I'd never ever post them online!

Day 2 of slim in 6 complete :)

OP posts:
2lilgirls · 30/12/2013 14:41

I'll join Smile

I need to lose 3 stone. I'm not giving myself a time frame but I want to be slim in the summer.

I will walk briskly for 30-60 minutes nearly every day and use my cross trainer at night. Cutting out sugar from my diet, eating lean meat and veg in my diet. No alcohol whatsoever for atleast a month.

I will reward myself by buying something nice when I lose 1 stone.

Oh and hoping to get pregnant but not even going to think about trying until atleast 2 stone is gone so it's the perfect incentive.

Good luck to you all

FCEK · 30/12/2013 17:45

Hi, I'll be doing WW again from 1st Jan and 2 half hour sessions with a personal trainer. I have also downloaded the 7min workout app and I'll try to do that in between.

milk · 31/12/2013 08:55

Day 3 complete :)

OP posts:
ChubbyLittleLoser · 31/12/2013 11:39

Hi everyone, can I join?

Ordered some new scales yesterday so not exactly sure what I weigh but at a guess I would say 10stone ish which wouldn't be so bad but it's all on my tummy, hips and thighs. Ideal weight would be about 8.7 but aiming for 9 for now.

I'm doing the low carb bootcamp starting after new year and also following the s&b easter renovation thread to improve on my overall appearance and try to be more groomed.

I plan on doing pilates everyday and some aspects of the 30 days shred (can't do much of it though due to recurring knee injury) such as the abs and arms exercises.

For every day that I eat well, do my exercises and follow my skincare routine I'm going to put £2 in a jar and at the end of every week either buy myself a small treat ie some new nail varnish or save it for something bigger.

Hopefully this works! Good luck everyone!
