Hello and seasons greetings everyone Xmas Smile

I thought it would be nice to have a fitness fred to cheer each other on when we begin our excise routines this January. This is what you need to do:

  1. Sign in and introduce yourself
  2. Tell us what exercise you plan on doing come January 2014
  3. Tell us how you will treat yourself

Also, you don't have to do this but I love this website www.calm.com/ - they have a wonderful 2 minute meditation :)

And for those who tell me to start now... sod that, it is Christmas!!!

Hi I'm Milk :) I like talking on these threads as although weight loss is not my only goal, you ladies are very motivated and I need that kick up the ass! As for exercise, I shall be doing a 30 minute exercise DVD once a day :)

Great starts everyone :)

ChubbyLittleLoser · 03/01/2014 20:02

I got my pilates dvds today so going to have a watch of them in a bit and attempt one of the workouts which will also hopefully stop me thinking about snacking!

Stuck to my meal plan today and walked for an hour with heavy bags and pram Smile

I'm only two days in but I'm tempted to weigh myself in the morning even though I told myself I would only do it weekly. I just want to see if its working but I know I'll get disheartened because I haven't magically lot a stone overnight Hmm

Lamby80 · 03/01/2014 20:27

Hello - can i join? I was on another thread but it has gone quiet...
I have put on 8lb over Christmas so i now weight 14.8 stone. I would like to get to 12 stone.
My plan is to cut out the crap, cook healthier meals and seriously review portion size! Re exercise, i dont get a great deal of time, have ordered an exercise book for toning and try to fit some runs in. I can do about 2 miles now but would like to increase it a lot - about 10 miles by the end of the year. I might also get a pool membership and fit in a swim in too once a week.
So, i will check in next Wednesday morning with my new weight.
Oh, and when i hit 13.7, i am going to buy a new dress, 13.0 a new top, 12.7 new jeans and 12 - a whole new wardrobe as i will feel good about myself!

ChubbyLittleLoser · 03/01/2014 23:24

Hey Lamby

2 miles is impressive, I could never make it to the end of the street Blush did you do couch25k or on your own?

Just did two of the workouts from my pilates dvd and my legs are tingling! It really feels like its working but in a completely different way to the shred, I think I can only do two at a time though so I can work on perfecting the positions.

putyourhatonsweetie · 04/01/2014 08:37

Stuck to the meal plan today (bloody love myfitnesspal) and did some swimming! As I can't crossfit atm I need some kind of challenge, so am trying to teach myself freestyle (normally would do lady breast stroke!) but man it is hard! And it's a good job I'm not that vain as using a float at my age is so uncool.

MrsMot · 04/01/2014 12:06

5k walk/run through driving rain, ankle-deep mud and water with my 12-yo ds. Brilliant fun and it made me get out and do it!

How's the asthma doodle?

I did manage to do some exercise.

Yesterday: 1 1/2 walk uphill in snow. 50 minutes downhill. 7 km in total.
Today: 1 1/2 hours cross country skiing.

My legs, bum and arms are very sore.

Not been as good with my eating, as I had my first portion of ice cream in 6 weeks yesterday. I also had a rather heavy supper at a friends house today, involving a snack of crackers and cheese. Sad

It is good to hear all your stories. Maybe we can keep spurring each-other on.

CharlieAlphaKiloEcho · 06/01/2014 07:56

Happy Monday everyone!

I am back on the wagon after a terrible bout of flu. Still feeling a bit rough but determined to get over it.

DD has just left for school so I'm left with DS who goes back tomorrow. I have just been on and booked a ton of classes for this week at the gym which I'm actually looking forward to.

Todays tasks will be my squat challenge and my 10000 steps.

Yesterday I sorted through the freezer and cupboards and put together a meal plan for the next fortnight. I also prepped 6 slow cooker meals for the freezer so I can just take them out and pop them in to cook for healthy meals on the days I'm going to be out or late home.

I've had a huge adjustment in my working hours - and now basically have none for a month or so. So this month I am throwing myself completely into getting healthy. I've never had so much time for this so I am really determined to make the most of it. Both kids at school all day so there is no excuse!

Hope you're all feeling raring to go!

CharlieAlphaKiloEcho · 06/01/2014 08:03

Quint - Sounds like you earnt those crackers. I o love how the route downhill was much shorter then the one going up though. I think I'd take a sled up and make it a ten minute return net time ;)

Sounds like everyone is doing ok. Well done Mrsmot for running in that! I keep thinking about the C25K but am so hopeless at running. Booked in for a course for february though so fingers crossed they can make a runner out of me.

chubby Sounds like your doing well with the pampering stuff. Is it helping do you think? Are you in a better frame of mind about yourself? I never pay enough attention to that side of things but I should make more of an effort.

Pokeroot · 06/01/2014 09:33

Well I have not managed any exercise other than walking the dog and painting the hall.

I think I'm coming down with something as I feel rubbish, I got so hot walking the dog this morning that I felt faint Hmm

I will dig out a yoga dvd I have and do that later as that will hopefully be easier than running or the 30 day shred.

putyourhatonsweetie · 06/01/2014 10:10

Well done everyone, really, fancy the idea of trekking on the snow. It is so ludicrously hot where I am that at 6 am the pool was like a bath! Still did my laps....Smile

Lamby80 · 06/01/2014 18:17

2 days til my first weigh in; i havent been as good as i had hoped. I had a choc bar today! Also not been doing any exercise.
Hmm, must try harder! Lets see what Wednesday brings!

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 06/01/2014 19:11

Rubbish! First day of 'proper' routine i.e. work and DS at nursery. Meant to do workout first thing but DS woke at 2am so I was too tired.
I did a low impact aka lazy 8min workout at lunchtime BUT stuffed my face all day.
Sad
Still, tomorrow is another day!

FCEK · 06/01/2014 19:13

Did metafit tonight. Nearly killed me!

MrsMot · 06/01/2014 19:17

Another 5k of run with a lot less walk :) Need a soak now though!

putyourhatonsweetie · 07/01/2014 09:37

Another swim for me this morningGrin...but swapped my daal for lunch out with my staff....oops

Lamby80 · 08/01/2014 09:26

Er. I did my weigh in this morning and have put on 2lb! Must try harder this coming week. Not put me off though, just encouraged me!
How are you all getting on?

milk · 15/01/2014 17:31

I am here to confess... I HAVE SINNED!!! I have done no exercise in weeks! BUT it is only 15th January so I can still get back on track :)
