Im back and i need support! after finishing the 30 day shred on the other thread the plan to move onto ripped in 30 failed, i had an injury followed by a stomach bug followed by a cold type virus then ds had an operation and all together i've been out nearly 3 months! i've gained the inches i lost back and im feeling very crap about it, im also hell of a run down, lots of headaches, mouth ulcers, palpitations (from all the sugar) so im going back to base and starting the shred again TODAY! anyone else still shredding??

I'm going to start today! 3 months post-partum now and 2 stone to lose, been walking 4 miles a day for a few weeks so feeling fitter but going to Shred gently, if that's possible! Will prob need to stick to Level 1 for a while and substitute abs for something gentler. Actually can't wait, was the fittest I've ever been pre-preg thanks to Jillian!

IcedCoffeeQueen · 28/10/2013 15:30

hi, well i started again just after posting and it was HARD i was physically shaking would never of thought i completed this with ease only a few months ago! im feeling motivated though, Jillian has that effect!, hopefully we can motivate each other to keep going, congrats on you little one btw! :)

Thanks!
Just done it. While I was doing it I was thinking it was less brutal than I remembered...then I walked up the stairs for a shower and my legs were SHAKING!! It's quite nice to have that feeling that all your muscles have been worked after a long time. And DD watched me from her bouncy chair giggling away, so I must have looked hilarious! Grin
Feeling motivated too. Well done us!

SlavetoBoris · 29/10/2013 11:36

Could I join in too? I'm 6 days in to the shred having never done it before and being pretty unfit. Finding it quite hard still. In particular I have no idea how I'm meant to do that one towards the end which is legs and arms and you have to stick your bum out but bend one knee and raise your hand weights out in front of you up to eye level. Can't seem to do it without my knee going forward over my toes.

MsFiremanSam · 29/10/2013 15:45

Hi SlavetoBoris - I find that one hard too, I can barely bend my leg and my arms get tired after a few lifts. Hate the jumping jacks too, a bit early for my pelvic floor after having DD!
I find it helps to stick my bum further out to stop going over my knee.
Just done Day 2 and found it harder than yesterday, muscles sorer than I thought. Walked DS to nursery as well which is a 3-mile round trip so knackered now !
What weights are prow shredding with? I'm doubt mostly 3llb but can manage 5 on some.

MsFiremanSam · 29/10/2013 15:46

*doing

SlavetoBoris · 29/10/2013 17:55

I'm using 5lb weights, only because that's all I have. But on that exercise I hate I'm only using one and holding it with both hands as otherwise find it too hard. Jumping jacks are rubbish for pelvic floor! Makes me feel better its not just me! My DS is 24 weeks so I thought I should be ok by now but apparently more PF exercises needed!

IcedCoffeeQueen · 29/10/2013 19:34

welcome slaveto, yep that is a hard move i hated that first time round and just as much this time, so completed day 2 day, so angry at myself for completing this before then ruining it actually looked out my chart and realised im bigger now than BEFORE i started the last round in august! arghh.

My muscles are agony at the moment but i will fight through i know it passes after the first week, my pelvic floor is rubbish to and my youngest is 2! i have to stop after the first cardio and go to the loo Blush

Starting mine today.

Have only ever made it to day 12 so really trying to do it this time!

Afraid I might pass out on the 1st day.
Wink

MsFiremanSam · 30/10/2013 09:54

Welcome Bubaloo!
I'm feeling really sore today, it's going to be a slog getting through the Shred. Hardly any sleep last night as well, agh. Still, as Jillian says, gotta do it for the results we want and we deserve!!

bubalou · 30/10/2013 10:47

I'm going to try. I have an event to go to on 30th November and I want to wear my Karen Millen dress that I fit into 3 years ago!

I am determined I will not need to buy another dress! Blush

pepsi77 · 30/10/2013 11:05

I've just started level 2. I'd forgotten how hard it was!

MsFiremanSam · 30/10/2013 21:48

Is it just me or is it getting harder every day?! Struggled today, especially with the cardio - my back was aching. Think my core is still too weak, so did low impact versions of the jacks and jump ropes. This had better be working!!

MsFiremanSam · 31/10/2013 18:59

How's everyone getting on?
Day 4 completed!

SolemnHour · 01/11/2013 10:54

I failed yesterday, i blame halloween i didnt shred and consumed my weight in chocolate and pizza :( must try harder, well done to those keeping on it

MsFiremanSam · 01/11/2013 12:04

Think I'm going to rest today, pulled my back picking up DS and worried I'll do myself an injury! Will prob go for a decent length walk instead and Shred again tomorrow.
Is everyone else doing rest days or trying to do the 30 days consecutively?

jollygreenmama · 02/11/2013 11:39

Hiya can I join?
I shred when I don't have time for anything else BUT have done nothing all half term so will start again Tues.
wondered if any of you do no more trouble zones? I have it & have done it a couple of times, really good and really hard.
Wondered also if any of you calorie count or what diets you do do?

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 02/11/2013 15:03

oh can i join too?

i lost 1.5 stone before doing the shred and eating healthier but had a baby and ruined it all. he's now 2yo Blush and im bigger than i ever was so determined to get back to my size 12s by the xmas party on 6th Dec.

done day 1 today and i think I've died and gone to hell!! Grin

Whereisegg · 02/11/2013 15:13

Coconuts I did my first shred today too Smile

Can I play with you guys?
In a totally non creepy way....Wink

MsFiremanSam · 02/11/2013 16:38

Hello Jolly, Coconuts and Whereisegg!
Had to have a couple of days off Shred to rest my back. Going to pick it up again Monday.
Jolly, I'm not dieting as such as I'm breastfeeding, but using myfitnesspal just to be more aware about what I'm eating and tracking walking with walktastic. Thinking of trying the 5:2 once I stop feeding.

MsFiremanSam · 02/11/2013 16:40

Have done NMTZ before, it's a really good workout but hard to find the time as it's twice the length of the Shred. I like Ripped and Extreme Shred but not ready for those yet!

Whereisegg · 03/11/2013 00:04

Didn't struggle at all with the workout, but my thighs are crying right now Confused

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 03/11/2013 09:09

I've also goy fitness pal to track my calorie intake. brilliant app. struggling to motivate myself to shred on a Sunday morning Grin

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 03/11/2013 11:09

second day done!

cardio felt a bit easier today but strength was haaard! still aching from yesterday without any more today. breakfast and water logged on MFP. feeling motivated Grin

Whereisegg · 03/11/2013 11:16

Just done day 2.
Ouch.
The last set of tummy crunches had me swearing!
Also, the sitting down cool down thing where she's reaching her ankles and toes makes me feel really inadequate!
