A little bit late but better late than never

God, I like the fact that we get a new start every week. You're very good at drawing a line under the previous week, WWB! Onwards and upwards (and other such cliches...they are cliches for a reason, though)

schneebly · 29/06/2006 20:44

A very cute pig though WWB! You might need to do one for me next week - 2 takeaways so far ! I also have a youth club trip tommorow and the place we are stopping from dinner is a chips with everything burger joint type place! I might get my stone taken away!

Fauve · 29/06/2006 20:49

I'm on a coach trip on Saturday - escorting the dcs - so am planning a picnic rucksack. If there's no aircon, it'll be comfort eating all the way there...and back... no, I'll take loads of frozen water and apples. Thought I might stick in some frozen Frubes for emergency comfort though.

hub2dee · 29/06/2006 21:06

My chocolate fondant excess and several days of non-careful eating only cost a gain of 1/2 pound. Phew.

Well done btw Schneebly, and cute pig WWB.

JackieNo · 29/06/2006 21:26

Congrats to everyone - Schneebly - well done on getting over the stone mark, and alittlebitshy - that's a deeply fluffy crown. Very cute. WWB - thank you as usual for keeping all this together. I'm on a nursery trip to the zoo with DS on Tuesday, so not sure how well I'll do. I suspect it might involve ice cream. DH is away during the day at the weekend, but I'm not sure if that will make eating better or worse.

alittlebitshy · 29/06/2006 21:45

aw thanks, loving my crown!!!!!!!! dd'll have that off me... it's pink, fluffy... perfect .

no sorry that my weigh ins are vague. my scales are crap, i wish i'd shelled out and gone for digital, plus I am not toally sure where i started... over 11 stone, i think aprox 11.5.....

and i'm just hovering above 10. woooo.

dd and i are spending most of the next week at my parents, so i am not sure how easy it will be to keep at it. hopefully will still avoid major snacking, but you know what it's like when it is someone else preparing the food........ On the plus side, my mum has digital scales.... lol, i have an obsession don't i.

well done everyone though. and esp you schneebly.
and wwb, don;t be daft you are doing so well. we all know how hard you're finding this, so just sticking with it as a rule is FAB!!!! (hope that hasn't come across as patronising as i fear)

MrsJohnCusack · 29/06/2006 22:36

Congratulations to everyone - you're all fab!

suejonez · 29/06/2006 23:55

Sorry everyone - I did weigh at the end of today but have been out all evening. Also I weighed at 6pm when I normally weigh at 12.30 before lunch and I had taken my team out for lunch and...

... well you've guessed - put on weight big time! Joining with WWB as pig of the week as I put in 3lb, though tbh I think 1lb of it was probably weighin after lunch instead of before.

Ah well start again tomorrow.

suejonez · 30/06/2006 00:11

and just in case you need reminding WWB 2/3rds of that weightgain is water in the same way that 2/3rds of first week weight loss is water. It works exactly the same if you put on weight after several weeks of losing as it does losing weight after several weeks of gaining. I can give you the scientific explanation if required but it's true honest - you and I have probably only put on a pound of fat.

I know thats not good, but equally its not impossible to shift in a week.

Fio, I've spoken to the lady who taught my neighbour and she can fit me in for some refresher lessons next month so I've booked them ... and dh wants to take me out at the weekend so I get a bit of practice in before the new car arrives . I'd be even more terrified than I am now if I waited until dh got the new car!

Sue, I'm sure you're right ... I'm working on the assumption that the quicker it went on, the quicker it will come off. Am sticking my tongue out at Hub for pigging all weekend and only putting half a pound on though

I think the pig's quite cute really ... might keep him on for future use

Help - I'm just about to unpack the Sainsbury's shopping and I know there are things in there that I want to eat NOW! Is anyone around to speak to me sternly?

suejonez · 30/06/2006 13:04

Me

suejonez · 30/06/2006 13:04

leave it alone

suejonez · 30/06/2006 13:05

stick as much in the freezer as you can

suejonez · 30/06/2006 13:05

then run away - fast

coppertop · 30/06/2006 13:08

STEP AWAY FROM THE GOODIES! (Not Bill Oddie & co obviously!)

Did that work, Littlefish?

WigWamBam · 30/06/2006 13:12

You step away from that food right now, young lady ...

OP posts:
Littlefish · 30/06/2006 13:18

Oh, thank heavens you're both there!

I'm so scared of going in the kitchen that all the stuff that really really needs to go in the fridge is still sitting on the kitchen floor.

Wish me luck - I'm going in.

WigWamBam · 30/06/2006 13:20

Deep breath, muster up your willpower ... you can do it

hello MoFos

Am not having a great day! The inlaws have thrown yet another classic - DH told them our baby news last night, his mum had total hysterics because we'd be in NZ and she wouldn't see it and etc. etc. Then they rang today, angry, saying he shouldn't have told them until after their visit this weekend and they were 'very upset'. It's supposed to be good news FFS! Now I have to keep my temper with them all weekend. Apparently they would have preferred to meet my parents for the first time since our wedding nearly 7 years ago without knowing, and wouldn't have minded that my parents DID know. Yeah, right. It's all about them obviously. And our moment is spoiled - cheers.

Anyway, it may all be a moot point as have been having a little bit of bleeding pver the last few days and rather worried. Doctor's appointment on Monday, will ask for an early scan.

luckily there are no biscuits/cake/chocolate in the house and it's too hot to go out, so the only thing available for lunch is cheese and bread.

I don't expect anything from you, just wanted to unload, and I feel this is my spiritual home on Mnet at the moment! Rather than starting a new thread or whimpering in the miscarriage threads because I know noone can tell me if it's going to be OK or not.

WigWamBam · 30/06/2006 13:29

Oh, Arfy ... so sorry to hear all this. If it's any consolation your in-laws sound like arses, and I wouldn't bother trying to keep your temper with them.

Fingers firmly crossed for you with the pregnancy.

JackieNo · 30/06/2006 13:30

Sending you good thoughts too, MrsJC. Hope your weekend isn't too horrible/stressful.

coppertop · 30/06/2006 13:31

Your in-laws sound insane, MrsJC.

Wishing you the very best of lck for your appointment/scan. xx
