Good morning all, and welcome Harry Smile

Well, not the best of weekends food-wise, but rather good apart from that. My 23-year-old nephew has come to stay for a few days. We've always had a very close relationship (he's an only child, close in age to my two daughters and they grew up almost as one family) and I just love that he still wants to come and spend time with his auntie. However, he loves and is very good at cooking, and within a few hours of his arrival my fridge has been filled with all sorts of stuff I normally daren't have in the house as it disappears so quickly! Not only that, he has the appetite you would expect of a guy of that age and cooks portions to match. He's with me until Wednesday, and I intend to enjoy him being here. I'll try not to go absolutely mad but I'm not going to spoil my time with him counting calories obsessively Halloween Wink.

Hope people have had good weekends.

IsThatTrue · 27/10/2013 18:07

Well I has a very bad weekend food wise. Well Friday was ruined with rather a lot of wine (on an empty stomach because I'm an idiot). Saturday was ruined by the massive hangover. I had 4 slices of white buttered toast for brekkie but tbh it didn't stay down long. But I did have 2 cheese and ham sandwiches for lunch. Then had dinner at a local pub but that wasn't too bad as I had a banging headache and barely ate. This morning I had a double sausage and egg mcmuffin, but was stuffed so didn't eat my hash brown.

Fx it doesn't have too much Of an effect if I'm good until weds.

Welcome harry :)

LottieDidIt · 27/10/2013 22:34

Not a great day for me foodwise today either. I resisted a McDonalds earlier which I got as a treat for the kids but then mindlessly had 'a couple' of chips out the bag which was probably more like half a bag!

I discovered today that DP has opened the bag of funsize chocs that I had bought for trick or treaters so found myself delving in the bag more than a few times today. I am blaming DP for opening them when he asked him not too.... although I know I should have more willpower!

clarinet I hope you enjoy your nephews stay - I think you're right to leave any worrying about the calories until after he's left Wink

Hope everyone has a good week Smile

HenriettaBrain · 27/10/2013 22:42

Clarinet, sounds like you have a great relationship with your nephew! Enjoy your time with him and don't worry about the calories, plenty of time to worry about it when he leaves.
Not a great weekend food wise here either, and I'm blaming the trick or treaters. I've bought mini bars if chocolates for them calling, however have ate half the bag. Great exercise today though, parked the car and went for a walk in the country, in a place we have never been before and we found the most stunning place ever, hidden away. There was a huge waterfall, with a little bridge over it, where we played pooh sticks with DS (3) and then there was a picnic area beside it, which was just totally covered in beautiful autumn leaves which the kids had great fun kicking and running through, and having sword fights with the fallen branches. Then it started to rain so we had to run back to the car.

Loads of photos taken and happy memories made today Smile

LottieDidIt · 27/10/2013 23:02

sounds like you had a wonderful day henrietta how lovely!

hmmm perhaps we need to be buying the trick or treaters a nice healthy alternative so that we can avoid the temptation of the mini choc bars - oh yes I can just imagine the looks on their faces when I hand over a fruit bowl for them to take their pick from Halloween Wink

phantomhairpuller · 28/10/2013 07:57

Morning all Smile

Not too bad a weekend for me, I worked most of it so was on the go all the time. Though we did have a Chinese takeaway Saturday night, washed down with a few glasses of wine.

Fast day today to get me back on track. Though I've promised ds1 he can help me make our Christmas cake- that could be an interesting one!

Welcome Harry Smile

Reastie · 28/10/2013 08:20

Morning

Lottie bet fruit bowl would be really popular not for trick or treaters :)

Urgh, not going well here. Since being ill and losing my appetite for a couple of days my appetite has been crazy (spent all yesterday eating) and I've been suffering with what I think is some kind of post viral IBS involving lots of stomach cramps and bloating and gas. Feeling rather annoyed as DD and I are off to theatre tomorrow and really don't want to miss it because of a dratted sensitive tummy.

Debs75 · 28/10/2013 14:52

So managed Pizza Hut for DP's birthday. I had about 6 slices of pizza at roughly 110 cals each some salad and then a cookie dough ice cream at 500 cals. I reckon with the 7 up I have had 1500 cals just for lunchHalloween Shock the scary hing is m and a friend used to do this maybe once or twice a monthHalloween Blush.
Well at least I know what I have done and I thoroughly enjoyed it so back to soup for tea, with a tiny slice of Jaffa cakeCake if there is room.

BirdingWidow · 28/10/2013 16:46

Afternoon all. Henrietta, your family day sounds lovely!

I too am suffering from the Reasties, ie a post-sickness regain of appetite. I could not stop nibbling yesterday (or today) and I have been pretty good about not doing that in recent months. Feels like a huge struggle at the mo. I had a big roast dinner yesterday and then crumble with double cream Blush. It was the most I have eaten for ages but I just couldn't stop. Haven't done anything really bad today but I have been nibbling on a couple of chocolate biscuits.

I don't know if it just getting my appetite back if whether it is starting working again. Somehow sitting at a computer seems to be a trigger for me... Which is rather unfortunate.

Well, off to collect my lovely boy from nursery. Seems as though a lot of us have struggled through the weekend. I'll be happy to STS this week!

Hope the storms haven't been too bad where you are. We had an impressive hailstorm at lunchtime.

IsThatTrue · 29/10/2013 18:40

Very quiet here, is everybody having a busy half term?

Well in getting back on the diet but find it impossible to fast with the dcs home so I'm not bothering this week. I am still running though and keeping an eye on my food.

I hope everyone else is doing ok. :)

Sirzy · 29/10/2013 18:43

I am struggling at the moment. Had a really crap weekend food wise and now can't get back into it at all. Need a kick up the backside

phantomhairpuller · 29/10/2013 18:47

{virtual kick} coming your way sirzy Wink

Hope we're all doing ok and that the lack of posts on this thread means we're all having a busy half term!

See you all for weigh-in in the morning Confused

Sirzy · 29/10/2013 19:00

Thank you phantom.

I am fully expecting my first gain tomorrow. Going to resist the temptation to skip it!

Reastie · 29/10/2013 19:10

Sirzy I'll give you a kick too! Just get back on it, that's the important thing.

Birding massive Grin to having the reasties.

Bit more restrained here today but still not great. Had awful ibs yesterday involving lots of urgent loo trips so maybe that may help any loss!

Oh, nsv today. . Didn't feel up to insanity workout after being I'll so did a 20 min fat burning workout from you tube. I actually found it easy! Made me think maybe I'm fitter than I thought - hurrah !

HenriettaBrain · 29/10/2013 19:30

Sirzy here's a kick from me too...KICK!!
Busy here, DS has a chest and ear infection and DD has a throat infection! My house is just one big ball of infection at the minute! Grin

BirdingWidow · 29/10/2013 19:45

It has been quiet but I am still here. Baby had his first 'good' day today in about 3 weeks (he was really floored by norovirus, then jabs, and conjunctivitis). He's been so grumpy and sleeping badly too, so it was lovely to see him toddling about cheerfully today. And I managed to get out of work early so I could spend a couple of hours with him before bed. My sympathies Henrietta, ill DCs are no joke!

I have been pretty good today but am still thinking I won't have lost anything tomorrow. Apart from the Reastie nibbles, I think I have been a bit dehydrated for the last two weeks so probably stand to get some of my recent losses back!

Sirzy, consider yourself kicked!

Fx for tomorrow everyone.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 29/10/2013 19:55

Hi everyone!

I've been quiet because we've been away. It was our wedding anniversary over the weekend and we went down to Cornwall for a few days to a lovely hotel we've been to before.

Lovely food, great wine list, childcare, spa. We had a lovely time, god knows how many calories I've eaten though - I shall not be weighing in tomorrow! Going to give myself a few days to lose the water weight - it has been TOTM as well, eek.

Sympathies to those with ill children, it really is the pits.

BirdingWidow · 30/10/2013 06:41

Oh dear, 0.5lb gain. My first gain Blush.

phantomhairpuller · 30/10/2013 07:02

2lb off Grin

Quite surprised at that to be honest.

Good luck all.

harryhausen · 30/10/2013 07:21

Wooo 1lb off!

Stunningly pleased with that as I haven't seen any shift in so long. I just ate a bit less I think. Went for a few walks. BlimeyGrin

Sirzy · 30/10/2013 07:22

1lb on Blush first gain since I started in may so not to worried just need to get back on the wagon!

Sirzy · 30/10/2013 07:22

What do you all have for breakfast? It is the meal I always struggle with most.

Reastie · 30/10/2013 07:59

Wow, 2 lbs off Shock . All I can think is it's from not eating from being ill and then pooing for britain the other day Blush . Hope it's not all back next week

alibaba break sounds lovely Envy

sirzy I have a bowl of cereal - I mix oat muesli on the bottom, then a thin sprinkling of coco pops (to get my choc fix!) then a sprinkle of buckwheat flakes on the top. Mil looks at me like this Hmm when he sees me putting 3 cereals in my bowl (but in fairness it is a very small bowl) but it works for me and I like it.

IsThatTrue · 30/10/2013 08:19

2 lbs off Shock

Starting weight 14stone 1 on 25th June
Weight today 10stone 9.

2lbs until my first target, 1lb to a healthy bmi.

I am honestly Shock as I was pretty awful this week, but in much smaller portions than before.

Well done losers. And to all those who have gained/sts and are still here ready to start again.

sirzy I have oat so simple maple syrup porridge for breakfast most days. It's sweet and filling.
